**2011** Epcot Food & Wine Festival HAS ENDED. 2012 Festival 9/28 - 11/11

I did go to the "official" Disney F&W web site and if you click on seminars this pops up
.....
Is this just old info that Disney hasn't corrected on the website, or is the event indeed returning?

You must be looking at www.foodwinefest.com, which used to be the main site (or one of them) but appears to be deprecated this year. It's particularly confusing because they updated it with this year's theme (Passport to a World of Flavors) but loaded some of the pages with old content. They probably should have just redirected to the disneyworld.com special events site.

Woo! I justy booked my first (and only, lol) culinary demonstration. I'm doing the Bill Clark/cheese one on 10/2 at 5pm! I'm really excited, I *love* cheese!!!

Congratulations on your reservation for your demo. Cheese is good.

You are right! here is the URL with the info http://www.foodwinefest.com/?page_id=85

I thought it might be right, because it does have some updated info, but then it also had some things I knew were wrong. That is frustrating, oh well, I was just hopeful that our beloved Sam Adams tastings were back. We still use the bottle openers we got as part of the seminar, back in '07 and '08.

Enjoy! I hope you have a great time!
Plus, you will have lots of time to explore the WS food booths, as well.

Hopefully this isn't old news:

I noticed today that the demo schedules had been updated and most of the TBDs were resolved. Also, the Mixology schedule now has a column for the cocktails, which was not in the version I downloaded a month ago.

Too bad they did not have it finished prior to opening up the bookings :sad2:
But thanks for the update.:goodvibes

Great about the updates...time to go check on my two mixologies.

It's also time for the countdown in the thread title, as it's getting close to opening day.

I think it is kind of dumb to have exactly the same drink made at 4-5 mixology sessions in a row (Baccardi) :confused3

The schedule is probably set up this way for the convenience of the traveling distillery representative doing the seminar.

Yes, I get that but he doesn't have to make the same cocktail every night. It could be a different cocktail made with the Bacardi each night, no? Guests travel over a number of consecutive days too and want some variety!

:thumbsup2 Yep!

Anyone know of any apps (iPhone, etc) for F&WF...one that gives you the kiosk menus?

It would be cool if there is such a thing!

Since this is my first year, I forgot to ask. Do you need to check in early for the demonstrations or just show up and they will have your name on a list. Thanks in advance!!

You need to check in and they will give each person a ticket and then you can wait on the line to enter (you are seated in line order).

How early do I need to get the ticket? Planning on doing AK that morning before Epcot and planning to leeave right at 3 hopefully. Can leave earlier if I need to.

Depends on where you want to sit for the demo. If you don't mind sitting furthest from the stage, you can wait to check in.

The line for celebrity chefs will begin forming much earlier than the lines for the Disney resort chefs.

What time is the demo you are going to?

Its at 5, and its one of the chefs from the Grand Flo.

Then it shouldn't matter when you check in (I don't know, is it TJ? He's really popular. I am assuming you don't really have a preference about sitting near the stage though). There are monitors set up so you can see what the chef is doing. The biggest problem with the festival center demo area is that it is not enclosed (well, they have trees around it, it's gone from Palmhenge to Sprucehenge) so you can hear and sometime see stuff that is going on outside of the demo. A lot of guests don't want to sit in the back beside the trees for that reason.

Great! I'm mainly interested in the sample than the demo, but if its a good recipe I might try to make it at home. Thanks for your help!!
