**2011** Epcot Food & Wine Festival HAS ENDED. 2012 Festival 9/28 - 11/11

This is a first time event at F&W festival so there is no way to truly know as yet. My guess would be that it will be a demonstration of different drinks and you will just have the finished product to sample in front of you. As for time I am sure its around 30-45 minutes long. You will have to walk briskly, but you should be able to make your reservations.

I saw 45 minutes in one of the descriptions... so give or take depending on size & questions. Of course they have to be out at a certain time for what ever is coming in next so I doubt it could run more than an extra 10 minutes or so.

And realistically, if you are a few minutes late for your ADR you might be okay. We've shown up 5 - 10 minutes late for ADRs at other in park restaurants & usually after being asked which ride were were on they did seat us. I imagine there is some point where they just put you on the walk up list, but I have to imagine 5 minutes won't be a big deal.

We are interested in trying one of the cocktail mixology classes.
Does anyone know if you are just sitting in the audience watching them being made, or is it like a cooking class, and you are all making them together?

Also- if they start at 6pm, how long do they last, and where is it? We have ADR's at Via Napoli at 7pm, and wonder if we could get there in time.
Thanks in advance.

As others have stated, it's 45 minutes long. Realistically, you (probably) won't make it to Via Napoli by 7 pm. The mixology seminars are a new addition to F & W this year & they will be held in the Festival Welcome Center in Future World. Here's the description on WDW's website: "Join us for Happy Hour at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival! A mixologist demonstrates the art of preparing trendy and classic cocktails, then serves you the final product. Cheers!"

Ok, quick random question. Where do they normally sell the pins? Especially the DVC and AP Food and Wine pins? I want to be sure I get my hands on some of them for my Disney pin collection (I also have a Hard Rock Cafe pin collection).

I have always had an easy time finding them at the Festival Center (what was formerly the Wonders of Life pavilion.) Typically there is a cash register set up to the left of the ramp as you enter the pavilion. They usually have an array of the wrist-band gift cards there as well as pins hanging at or near the cash register.

I have gotten pins featuring both Mickey and Figment in recent years at F&W commemorating the event. What I really miss, though, are the mugs that had the year on them. The last year for those was 2006. Since then, they were more generic and didn't even mention F&W. Sigh.

Enjoy the festival!

OK has anyone done the Moet & Chandon tasting before and is it any good?

We're doing the Taste, Shake and Indulge like the French on Nov 5th. I think that is new this year, if that is the Moet & Chandon event you are asking about.

The "tastings" in the Festival Center, follow a pattern of a series of a tasting size (2 oz) pours of three or four different wines accompanied by an informative discussion and some crackers to clear the pallet. A lot depends on who makes the presentation. Moet & Chandon hosted a Tables in Wonderland champagne brunch at Narcoossee's in July and that was extraordinarily informative and entertaining! I'd be looking forward to it based on that experience.

I just noticed that the culinary demonstrations & mixology seminars are both at the Festival Welcome Center. Are they held in the exact same area or in two different areas? I would like to do Chef TJ's culinary demonstration at 5:00 pm, but I don't know if I would have enough time to make it to our 6:00 pm mixology seminar afterwards. Thanks for any insight!
The Festival Center is about the size of a hockey rink. And all events are held within a few feet of each other. The stages are typically back to back and positioned around the outer wall of the domed structure. You won't have any problems getting from the first to the next. They'd still have you leave and come back in if they were in the same area as they are separately ticketed events.

I wouldn't worry as long as the time and confirmation number match. You'll probably be set up in a separate room - I don't think any of the Signature dinners buy out the entire restaurant, although that might have been preferable (imo) than 5 nights of Kouzzina hogging up the schedule.

Not a fan of Kouzzina, but I don't think they're taking up space. Signature Dinners are driven more by the individual restaurants. Just be happy this isn't the year where there were only TWO of these events on the schedule! :scared1:

We did it last year. We all agree it was worth the money and time we spent.

Thanks. Its the tasting we're doing on the 6th as hadn't noticed the Taste Shake & Indulge event will have to look at that now.

Taste, Shake and Indulge like the French was new last year. It is a hands-on demonstration involving Grand Marnier, held at The Bistro in the France Pavilion. Much longer, a good 1.5 to 2 hours long. Fun event. :thumbsup2

Don't be surprised if all the dates are sold out already. :sad2:

Kouzzina has a private room. The dinners will likely be there since there are so many of them. There is also a lunch; I am betting she will use the entire restaurant, or at least the main room of it, for lunch, as 1) they don't serve lunch anyway and 2) it isn't sold out yet. As for 5 nights hogging up the schedule, they haven't gone wrong on that, since all the dinners are sold out. I don't think the private room is very large though.

Are the Sam Adams tastings that used to be held in the American Adventure courtyard coming back this year? We loved attending this event in previous years, and I hadn't heard any chatter about it this year.

I did go to the "official" Disney F&W web site and if you click on seminars this pops up

History of Beer in America

Learn the history of beer in the New World and the awesome art and science behind brewing the beverage. This seminar is hosted by the Boston Beer Company, brewers of Samuel Adams Beer®. Daily seminars at 11:50 a.m., 12:35 p.m., 2:05 p.m., 3:35 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 6:05 p.m. in the Epcot American Adventure Pavilion. Price: Included with Epcot admission.

Is this just old info that Disney hasn't corrected on the website, or is the event indeed returning?

What's the URL of the official webpage that you're looking at?
