Just a suggestion...If you decided to make a trip to C.P. towards the end of June...you could also hit the Dayton Disneyana Event June 25th and 26th about 2-1/2 to 3 hour south of C.P., the National Air Force Museum, which is FREE (and if you keep your eyes open, there are Disney related items to be found) and another 45 minutes south is Kings Island. Any comments?

Thanks for the info! However, our family cannot travel to Ohio at that time. Maybe, it will interest others ... :thumbsup2

Discount tickets to Cedar Point are easy to find. Paying gate prices is not necessary.

At this point I think we can make either. Not sure if we would drive up there on Thursday or Friday.

I just read this thread, if anyone has any questions about CP --I live in Sandusky. :) I have lived here for 30+ yrs and I also work seasonally at CP. I am a stay at home mom so I pick up hrs in the summer for Disney Cruise money:thumbsup2 Anyhow my name is Michelle...I am here if u need anything.

I will give you my 2 cents. First, if you are planning to hit Knotts Berry Farmin LA(maybe your taking the Mexican Riviera cruise) or plan to hit Kings Island or any other Cedar Fair park , it surely is beneficial to get a CP pass for $150 which includes Soak City and parking(normally $10 a day in 2010). 3 visits to CP or 2 days and a day at Soak City plus the parking pays to get a season pass.:thumbsup2 Also best time to hit CP and May, first weeks of June and then September bonus weekends. July 4th-Sept 3 is BUSY!!!!! :scared1: Then October Hallow-weekends is busy!! Count on 2-3 hr lines for big roller coasters like Millennium Force, Dragster, Raptor, etc. As for staying on-site. Definately more convienent, however there are many many hotels in our city that are nice too. Well good luck planning and if you all come you can come to my buffet for breakfast...:goodvibes

Cedar Point is now open! Any concrete plans for a DIS meet?

I was supposed to go opening weekend, but got sick and wound up in the ICU. I guess we may need to take another recon mission before August.

For me, ts a bit far but I would love to go. We just need to know when so I can plan out work etc.

:thumbsup2 There is a DISMeet planned. Do you know who is heading it Todd? We are NOT able to attend. So, someone else has taken over the coordinating of the event.

I "believe" it has been planned for the weekend of August 12th, 13th and 14th.

I don't know who is heading it up. I have it written in my calendar as that weekend, though.

I will most likely drive out for a day either Saturday or Sunday. I haven't been there since either 2000 or 2001 and every year it is on the list of things to do that doesn't get done.

We had an official DIS meet at CP in August 2003. We didn't stay onsite, but got rooms at the lovely (cough cough) Days Inn not too far away. Staying on-site is great but definitely pricey - unless you're there early or late in the season.

We basically had the whole Days Inn booked for those days - and took over the pool :rotfl2:
