2011 DDP- when can we add it?

Bare with me, I am a DVC newbie and am getting ready make my dining reservations tomorrow at 180 days out. I called MS on Monday to make my room reservations, and was told that I could not add the DDP yet.

Does anyone know when we can normally add this to reservations for next year? I'm trying to avoid having to pay in full for CRT and HDDR when we plan on using our DDP credits for those nights.

I called yesterday and was able to add the ddp to my May 2011 It is $4.00 more per day than 2010 price.

Did you call MS or regular reservations? I called MS today and they wouldn't let me add it

Well I just called and it was on mine but whoever put it on shouldn't have. He went and checked and he said they don't have the official word yet. So he had to take it off.

I wonder if they are in contract negotiations about adding the seasonal DDP price increase to DVC reservations? Maybe that is temporarily holding up the ability to add the plan to DVC.

I was thinking the same thing.


Most of the CMs at MS are not even aware that the Dining Plan can be booked by CRO for cash guests, so I would not expect them to know too much at this point.

You may have to wait to make the CRT and HDDR reservations as without a DDP on the room reservation they won't exempt you from prepayment. Or try calling instead of booking online and tell the CM you intend to add the dining plan when you can.

I'm going to try when I call tomorrow- I thought today was my 180 day, but my "big day" app on my phone doesn't count the current day so I was actually 181 days. We'll see what happens! I just don't want to have to pay $300+ and $400+ for CRT and HDDR when I'm going to get the $$ back in the end!

I'm looking at adding as well for our January trip - I will try calling in a bit to see if it can be added.

2010 rates for ddp
With free dining out there, it seems ddp is a line item for moving money around the org.
