Why did you change your reservation?

I originally wanted BC but there was nothing available with the discount but CL and as much as I would love CL, it would be a waste because DS is so picky. So I kept calling and finally something opened up:banana:.

Thanks! That is so cool you did the same thing. You must had a smile on your face the whole time. Did you finally tell him? How'd you let him know? I wonder if they would keep it a surprise if I called and told them?

I still have a smile on my face when I think about that day! Mark figured out where we were going when they were explaining how to use the special gold room key in the elevator.

To add to the excitement, this was also when I met Teena- so the family was also confused when I started hugging and talking to the woman in the lobby. I had mentioned the DIS and Teena to them a few times, but they just didn't get it. You know the glazed over, "Uh-huh, yes dear, I'm listening to what you are saying" look?

Make sure you share with us the reactions you get from your family!

Just bumping this up... Anyone have any experience with lock-offs? :confused3

I can't answer your question specifically regarding BCV, but we stayed CL at the Poly last year and my sister & her 2 teenage sons shared the (lockoff) room next door. I really don't remember hearing anything over there when the door was closed (and I know they all 3 watch tv all night...). We left the doors open for the daytime, just closed them at night when the grandkids went to sleep.
HTH!

How is the soundproofing between connecting villas at BCV? We are currently booked at BWV but are hoping our wait list will come through for a 1BR at BCV in November. I think I've read that some are dedicated 1 Bedrooms & others are lock-offs with connecting studios. Can you hear the people next door? This will be our first deluxe villa stay & I can't wait!! :cool1:

Just bumping this up... Anyone have any experience with lock-offs? :confused3

We've stayed in 3 studios at BCV -- according to the map on parkinfo2go it looks like 2 of them were lock-off studios.

We stayed about 10 nights in each and I do not recall hearing any noise from the room next to us. It was in July so I know the rooms had to be occupied, but really I find the BCV to be pretty quiet. Our rooms were also on the first floor and I don't remember foot traffic being an issue either.

Hope it all works out for you.

Continue having a fantastic time!!!

Any constuction going on? Have a wonderful trip :)

Wondering how the Spring Break crowds were. T-plans have them maxed out over the next week. Is it crazy crowded?

And oh yeah......:banana::banana::banana: enjoy!

Have a fabulous time!

Thanks guys we truly did have a fabulous time :goodvibes

Construction at the BC continues. I wouldn't want a room anywhere near it and was surprised to see the occupied rooms. It's not the view - which would stink unless there happen to be cute construction guys :rolleyes1 but the noise  The sheer noise from the machinery was nuts... We walked past it about 9am or so and they were at it already. If you like to sleep late and have a visit soon request close to the YC or try to ask to be away from it at check in.

Crowds - We didn't find the crowds any crazier than normal and our days were actually lower crowd peeps than summer. But a CM told us we actually were there at a good time - the crowds will get crazy next week. Easter crowds along with Florida schools on spring break = :scared1:

Other info......

A CM at the BC Marketplace told us that the resort only merchandise is expected to be released in Sept - hoping for August :wizard: The CM's comments were the expense of the resort only marketing - which was ridiculous IMO as other resorts - ie WL & Poly have new stuff each year:confused3 But thanks to the voices or many it will be back soon - to the relief of the CMs ;)

BC Marketplace was terrible for those with allergies. The CM was quite rude and we left and did not return. This happened last visit as well... Hurricane Hannah's wan't much better though at the least the CM was very nice about it!

Please do yourself a favor and DON'T do what I did..... we never take the bus to DTD do to the horrible bus service we've experienced in the past. This time we were already at the BW so we caught the bus. Ride there was fine but coming back HUGE mistake - 1 hour and 13 minutes later I finally arrived back at the resort  I timed each section - 33 minutes waiting at the bus stop; then a stop at both water parks, a driver change, and finally stops at the Dolphin, Swan, BW, YC and finally the BC (for the poor family that waited even longer than me). Yes I brought this to attention at the concierge counter - the very little good it did me... No I'm sorry that happened - just we'll call transportation. Now after this we hit SAB and it went out of my head but still let this be a learning experience and avoid the DTD bus service

Okay crap over... onto the fabulous time!

CM at checkin - upgraded 1st night to a garden view so we wouldn't have to move - our room was facing the quiet pool w/daybed :thumbsup2

CMs at the YC resort shop - too many purchases.... too few suitcases - no problem we ship :cool1:

Chef at Beaches 'n Creme - great guy :thumbsup2

Location, location, location - this is one resort well worth the $ just to walk into Epcot. The F&G Festival was just beautiful :flower3:

SAB - simply the best pool on property anywhere. We spent time up on the sun deck and the view, quiet was just :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

Simple things - the flowers in the lobby are stunning, iced water near the lobby, just the little touches :lovestruc

I can't say enough about Chef Dee at Cat Corra's restaurant - truly amazing breakfasts (the Mickey gluten free / dairy free waffles :cloud9:) and just a wonderfully helpful lady - they are lucky to have her :goodvibes

Overall it was just a fabulous time filled w/ memories I will treasure forever:goodvibes

Thanks for posting the great review and the tip about the DTD buses!! More than a few of us will benefit from your experience.... :goodvibes

Does anyone have any good tips about how to get to DTD without taking the BC bus?

Does anyone have any good tips about how to get to DTD without taking the BC bus?

This is what we do, and it has made our trips to DTD SO much more enjoyable. You need park hopper tickets for this, which IMHO is a great idea anyway when you are staying at BC/YC. It also requires that you return prior to the closing time for EP- either 9 PM or midnight on EMH nights.

First- we have not found the buses TO DTD to be all that bad but we HATE the buses that return from DTD to BC, for the time reasons posted by Minnie and because the buses are always crowded.

When we are on our way back to the Beach Club, we take one of the resort boats (to POR, OKW or Saratoga Springs). We find the bus stop at the resort and hop on a bus to EPCOT, then we walk through the park, enjoying attractions along the way.

Both days we did this we planned our DTD on a morning we had been at EP, and as a double bonus, we pulled a FP to Soarin' before leaving the park in the morning, and then used it on our way back to the room.

Here are the two posts from my TR where we did this.

July 2010: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=38377886&postcount=238

July 2009: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=37765350&postcount=49

A similar method works for us when we are traveling from another resort back to the BC- we take the monorail or bus to EP first.

Alternatively, a taxi back to the BC would probably be around $20. I would consider that, too!

I'm glad you had a fabulous trip! Thank you so much for you "Minnie" review. It had some very detailed, helpful info!!!

Thank you so much for sharing the experiences you had at the various food places. Sorry to hear about the troubles you encountered- food allergies are such a serious issue and I am sorry to hear about the places that were not helpful to you!

Typically, DISmoderators will close down a thread when it gets to be around 250 posts. At the rate we are going, we could hit that milestone today or tomorrow, but I have noticed there are other monster threads out there now, too.

Last time, as we approached 250, I made the new thread before we were officially closed (thread is still not locked) because I was heading to Mexico and I had some major remodeling of the thread I wanted to attend to.

I'll let the thread go and grow until we are told to migrate to a new thread and will keep you all posted if we have a new address.

I just took a moment to "peek" at this thread and now I'm not getting my work done. :goodvibes

Thank you for the great information.

Do many of the rooms with 2 queens have a daybed as well?

We stayed at Contemporary during our last trip DD10 really liked the daybed. My parents shared a queen, and I had the other queen to myself.

Thanks!

Not sure if anyone has responded to your question.

Some rooms do have 2 queens and a daybed- they are scattered throughout the resort, I believe in all view categories.

If you have a party of 5 people who are all over age 3, you should automatically be assigned a room with a daybed. If your party is smaller than that, you may add "Daybed, please" as a request on your reservation (see page 1 for additional "request" information)

If you don't get a room with a daybed, you may request a rollaway, which will be provided free of charge if available.

We have a SV CL room in June. We're calling it Ds's Graduation Trip so we booked CL instead of a regular SC room.

:welcome:

Do you want to be added to our "Guest List" on page 1? What are your exact dates and resort?

I am soo excited to rejoin the DISboards. I was on quite a bit last year heading up to our April 2010 trip. I have just booked a June 24 to July 6 WDW vacation for my husband and myself! We will stay at a time share off property for a week and then spend 4 nights at Disney's Beach Club! We stayed at the Beach Club in 2005 when our daughter was in the college program. This trip will be in celebration of our 35th wedding anniversary.

Welcome back!

So are your BC dates July 2-July 6?

Looks like I am going to miss the Dis meet and Teena :sad1: Darn, would have enjoyed a Dis meet! We are booked from July 16 - July 22... subject to change as we are also currently planning to drive. Very, excited as DS19 was home this past weekend for my brothers wedding and says he WOULD like to go to Disney! :thumbsup2

MickeyT- great job keeping up with your months! You have some really busy ones!

Could you update HockeyMomR's dates? Also, there are new dates for Lov2B@disney (Sandy): July 20-27 BC CL SV

Thanks!!!

Anyone else want to be added to the Guest Lists? Check page 1 to see if you are there, if not, please post your dates and resort!

Excellent Minnie Review :thumbsup2 You hit upon a couple of my concerns the on going construction and the buses.

The year we stayed at YC Disney was doing construction/maintenence :sad1:
Seems I am jinxed  but do to our dates and there being a convention at YC the only availability at YC are CL rooms.

Planning on heading to DTD our first night or on Saturday night and have read before how long it takes time wise...have to do some serious thinking about this.

Sounds like a good plan to me :thumbsup2

Just wanted to toss something of interest out to everyone on this thread

of "little known facts"....although not about the BC, still something I was not aware of .

I came across this am on the DIS boards that I found of interest since I had never heard about it before. I wish I had children traveling with me so we could do this it sounds like a lot of fun.

The Hiding of paint brushes on TSI in MK ....the reward fast passes for the entire family for BTMR or Splash Mt.

Thanks so much!! I hadn't heard any grumbling about it so I figured it was a non-issue but thought I'd ask just in case.

We are going to do DtD on non-park days and our last day...Should I be prepared for and hour and a half ride back to YC? So we won't be able to go through Epcot. Is there a better way to do it???

I really think Disney needs to work on the DtD buses...no matter where we stay they seem to take forever. Some bus drivers will go to WP's before they drop off at DtD some will go after. Makes no sense at all. I guess the luck of the draw?

I don't understand that if you are staying at a Deluxe resort, Why do you have to share buses. If you think about it POP does not...CBR, CSR do not. POR & POFQ do but they are sisters. I wouldn't mind if BC&YC shared but why do they have to share with BW, S&D???? It makes no sense at all. Even Poly, CR & GF have to share. You would think with the prices we are paying, there would be better bus service.

I am done griping:rotfl: I think I need more coffee!!!:surfweb::surfweb:

I agree with your grip :headache: and I really do need some coffee

Doccoc2002, I also agree that deluxe resorts shouldn't have to share a bus with other resorts. Time for my tea! :)

This is what we do, and it has made our trips to DTD SO much more enjoyable. You need park hopper tickets for this, which IMHO is a great idea anyway when you are staying at BC/YC. It also requires that you return prior to the closing time for EP- either 9 PM or midnight on EMH nights.

I like the idea of Resort Hopping and Epcot hopping. The more time in Epcot the better and I secretly want to go check out POR!

Thanks for your review! Looks like you had a great trip. I'm hoping when we head down there in September they have the resort merchandise, as it may be the only time I get to stay in such a nice resort! (I want proof, dagnabit!:rotfl:)

I was planning on having to "taxi" it but your idea sounds great, and I really do think the idea of walking through Epcot and enjoying the sights would be a nice touch! Thank you for sharing, I'm sure we'll use that at least once when we head down.:thumbsup2

BTW Dee, I'm not sure I ever mentioned this, but THANK YOU for all that you do running this thread. I know it must be a lot of work, and wanted you to know it's appreciated!

Actually tea does sound good since I am suppose to lay of caffeine:sad2:

Yeah, me too. Been very bad w/ diet sodas and I was told to stop, or else. This is day one of nothing past my tiny cup of morning coffee. I think I might lose it in the office today. Please shoot me.:surfweb:
