Prayers for you and yours Heather.....and all the people affected by these storms. My sister called from eastern NC after the tornadoes hit their town last night. She was still scared. Lot of destruction but no lives lost that she knew of

OK, and now for the confessional, since pixarmom has mentioned it.

Bless me Beachers, for I have sinned!
.

Had seen where you were asking on the other thread about visiting WDW during your trip.....Has to feel weird doesn't it. But I'm sure you will enjoy HP but figured you couldn't go the whole week without seeing your 'real home'.

.... Jeanne thinks Peanut will be arriving on 7/11. And for the record, Bob thinks (he says he is absolutely sure) it's a girl. I think it's a boy.

WooHoo :woohoo: Teena. July 11th is my birthday. We will be down the weekend of April 29th for a quick getaway to AKL. Will try to get over and see you. :flower3: Have fun on your 'vacation' and enjoy.

If I had to take an educated guess at the GV CL rooms, by looking at Bing Maps, I would say the following 5 are GV:

5148
5150
5152
5154

(all are facing gazebo facing away from Epcot, making it difficult to see water too)

5198

(faces away from Epcot and just outside the main lake entrance, but no view of lake from that angle)

I just wanted to let you know that I think your GV/CL room numbers are probably spot on and my GV veil of confusion has been lifted:thumbsup2.

I switched from the BC to the YC yesterday (:goodvibes) and requested a room w/o a connecting door. I then asked the IPO if they could confirm that there are only 5 GV/CL rooms and if any of them don't have a connecting door. Annie replied and said that 3 out of the 5 do not have connecting doors.

My confusion started because last year I also booked a YC/GV/CL room, but I was apparently upgraded because we were in room 5197 overlooking SAB (which I actually didn't want). I thought we just didn't get our gazebo request and that we were in a partial water view room since there were some minor tree obstructions. Now I know from both you and the IPO that we were actually on the opposite side from the GV rooms:rolleyes1.

Also, for anyone who might be wondering, Annie, from the IPO, said that the following beer brands are served in the Regatta Club:

Bud Light, Heineken, Yuengling, Sam Adams. And, there is no Coke or Sprite Zero, only Diet Coke. But last year, I asked if there was Sprite Zero and that evening a 12-pack was in my room:thumbsup2

Thanks again for your help!

Heather, thanks for sharing this with us - your family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers.

Hi all! I wanted to share a little something off the YC/BC topic tonight. Over the past month I have been reading this board and getting excited about our first trip to the BCV and surprising my 13 year old. Tonight I had a blessing beyond miracles I wanted to share for all of those I have been praying for and all of those who might need a little encouragement.
Two years ago my family moved from a little town outside of Charleston,SC called St. Stephen, SC to Kentucky. It was not an easy move but we felt God was leading us away. My mother and her husband and my two best friends still live there. Tonight I was out celebrating a day early with my husband our 12th anniversary talking about our trip and even talking to the table next to us about their upcoming first trip, when my cell phone rang. It was my best friend Valerie. She was crying and shaking, tornados Heather tornados and then the phone went dead. Here I was several states away and I felt my world end. See shortly after I left the house next to my girlfriend's house to the left of her caught fire. Tonight a tornado took the house to the right of her. My mother lives a street behind her and my other friend lives a street in front of her. The tornado took a church on the main road in front of my mother's house, skipped her house she is renting (but closing on a nother house in a near by city in a few weeks) cut a path through trees and a field in I diagonal, hit the house next to my girlfriend's home, continued cutting a path through the field across the street heading for my other best friend's home and then lefted up back into the sky and touched down in the forest 5 miles down the road. When I got back in touch with my friends and mother, I can not tell you how wonderful their voices sounded! God blessed my family and friends beyond belief tonight! Others lost there place of worship and homes but not lives in this little town.
My best friend says when she goes to sell she is going to put in the ad "This house is wrapped up in God's hands"
For those who pray please send some prayers towards St. Stephen, SC tonight and the other places that where hit with these storms.
Thanks for my little interruption. Here are some pictures of the house just to the right of my girlfriends house and the church that was leveled.

Thanks for sharing your story.

You know you can count on us to give thanks for the good fortune that had befallen some, and to say a prayer for those that are struggling with misfortune from the tornado.

I like the way you think :rotfl2: I'll try it!

If you have to - volunteer to switch to POR, or even, gasp - offsite for the last night. As the trip gets closer start talking about how much more convenient it would be to just stay at BC but in a standard room. After all these years I have these scenarios down pat!!!!!

Teena, sent a PM. Even though my delivery date estimate is no longer valid, I'm still betting it's a boy!

Robyn, how exciting to be planning another meet! My timing is all wrong again! Last year, we were at BC in July and the meet was in August. This year, we're at BC in August and the meet is in July!

Dee, thanks for the update! You were supposed to be my fellow non-Disney park buddy this summer - if you go to MK, you're going to make it difficult for us to resist that 1-day ticket after our cruise!

There are rooms with two queens, there are rooms with two queens and a daybed, there are rooms with a king bed, there are rooms with one queen and a daybed.

Teena can better answer your question- she is at work today so won't be back until later tonight, so I will give you my two cents in the meantime:

Is it just the 3 of you travelling or are there 4 of you? I think you should stick to the balcony request and not worry about the possibility of getting the room with 1 Queen and a daybed, especially if there are 4 of you. They definitely wouldn't put you into a room with that bedding.

Stick with the advice not to do online checkin, and be sure to ask before you take your keys whether your room has a full balcony and what the bedding configuration is.

That was my first TR and I didn't realize that asking for it to be moved to the "Completed" section would prevent others from posting! Silly me!

So you are the last official poster on the thread.

Shameless plug- If you want to see what it is like to tour the Disney parks in the summer with the energizer bunny, this is the report for you! Click on the link in my signature.

OK, and now for the confessional, since pixarmom has mentioned it.

Forgive me Beachers, for I have sinned!

I have booked a trip to "The Other Orlando". We were not planning on going to Florida at all this summer. But I am a huge Harry Potter fan and our family has never been to US. We really love marine creatures and it has been 7 years since a visit to Sea World. So we have have a 5 day/4 night stay at the Portofino Bay Hotel at US to take advantage of the early entry and Front of the Line privileges at US/IOA, and we will be getting two-day tickets to Sea World.

We booked our trip, told the kids, and they said "But why aren't we going to Disney?" Sound familiar, creativeamanda? Actually, Mark is the one really pushing for a visit to the MK, since we will be "so close".

So on my TR, I asked should we or shouldn't we- Mark and I have decided that I will research all of the transportation options (we are not currently planning to rent a car), I have checked into the park hours for those days, and I am charging up my Disney Visa like there is no tomorrow in case we need to purchase 4 one-day tickets. We will not decide until we get there, but will be fully prepared with all of our options to spend a night at the Magic Kingdom during our visit.

So pixarmom- to answer your question way back when- we will decide when we get there, we are not telling the boys we are considering this so it will be surprise to them.

BTW for anyone who is concerned about me springing the news like this- Teena knows about the trip, and she will probably be in Vegas while during the time we are in Orlando.

phew! that feels better! Ticker coming soon.

That's ok Dee, we all have sinned against the Mouse!

As your penance I'm going to have you read a quote from the movie "A Christmas Story" Which is the Eddis-Koch family's official "favorite movie".

Miss Shields: Now I know that some of you put Flick up to this, but he has refused to say who. But those who did it know their blame, and I'm sure that the guilt you feel is far worse than any punishment you might receive. Now, don't you feel terrible? Don't you feel remorse for what you have done? Well, that's all I'm going to say about poor Flick.

Ralphie as Adult: [narrating] Adults loved to say things like that but kids knew better. We knew darn well it was always better not to get caught.

There, there, that's enough guilt now. Go forth and enjoy the butter beer with a clear conscience! Be sure to post a review of the Butter Beer versus the frozen butter beer for all of us living vicariously through your pilgrimage to Harry.

I couldn't tell from your post if that means you WANT me to go to the MK so you can too...

Heather--So glad that everyone is safe. I was looking at pictures of the storm on the news this morning and it was horrible!

Yes, YES!! I booked garden view too! It was a no brainer. I think if enough of us GV-ers are in the elevator with our ziplocks, we can bum rush the crowds around the chips and dip and make a feast out of it, in fact we can just grab the bowls and make a run for the elevators.

I say we have a chips and dip meet by the garden view gazebo at YC. Those "Clubbers" will never think to look for the chips there!

Mwa ha ha!

Signed, Garden View in Marlton
u are a laugh riot !!! When r you there ! if first week of June i can join in the chips raid !!!!!

It's amazing the damage these storms did in NC as well! We were thankful at a wedding out of town yesterday so we missed the actual storm. We didn't even know it had happened. When we got home last night we weren't allowed in our neighborhood! (It was blocked by police and we were told we were on curfew.) It is terrible. Just got in this morning and feel so blessed that our house is totally unharmed.... unfortunately our neighbors are not so lucky. There is no power in the area and chances are that there won't be for days. Please pray for the people effected by these storms. It's amazing that houses 100 ft from one another could be so vastly different. Our untouched... others demolished! I am so thankful we weren't home to have gone through this.

I've been so worried about what kind of room I'd get this trip and if we'd like it at BC (since it's our first stay there) Now I'm realizing how lucky we are and how grateful I am to even be able to go and have a house to come home to!

There is no better way to start a Disney vacation than strolling down Main Street USA and seeing the castle! That's what my family insists on doing, even though it would be much simpler to just stroll over to EPCOT. There certainly will be plenty for the 3 of you to do at the Magic Kingdom.
