Hi
Yes that's what I'm after, a room so I can have the sun. The rooms opposite where we were last time had the morning sun. We were in 4152 last time, when we arrived reservations were down and the guy offered us two rooms, 4152 and another one at the back.

I have now sent VH an e-mail saying I have contacted Disney (Ihaven't, but Tenna works there, so its as good as:thumbsup2) and they have told me if I book a standard with VH I will get the car park etc, so they will need to phone Disney to sort it out.

I haven't actually booked anything yet, I want to make sure that I am getting what I want. I'd rather stay at another resort than have a view of a car park, Stormalong bay or not. I don't mind paying the extra, but VH are saying I won't need to when clearly Disney say I will need to based on what Tenna has said. I might actually e-mail Disney myself to get it in writing and then push VH to sort it out before I book.

Thanks for clarifying all of this and your patience. Heather

PS Anyone have the appropriate e-mail address, so that I can contact Disney myself in case its needed?

Actually if you call or write Disney and get somebody at the reservation system, half of them don't even know all our rooms don't have daybeds. I'm going to send you an PM and give you the email address of our room assignor who can answer you with the standard view room description. She will return your email and it will be "from Disney".

All the CL GV rooms at the BC have full balconies. There are nine CL GV room at the BC.

Teena, it's so cool that you answer each & every niggling question we have. :goodvibes I have booked a CL GV room at BC, so I will have a full balcony, but unlikely to have a daybed, correct?

My question is are there full size cribs available & do you think one would fit in most CL GV rooms? Further, so you think I could fit both a PnP & a crib, squished bit do-able, maybe? (I hope.) DD likes her space to sleep. DS would be happy sleeping w/ me, but I like to be able to put him down once in a while!:)

Its been 4 days since I have read anything and now I am all caught up. As we were just there last month at BCV, I am already thinking of our next vacation. Unfortuntley it probably will not be until 2013 or 2014 (boo), unless I win the lotto!!! In 2009 we stayed at AKL Kidani and we absolutley loved our actual one bedroom villa, especially since it had 2 full bathroom (bonus) and a pull out bed chair. We did not like our room location and the never ending long walk from the lobby to our room. Way too much walking to get to your room. We also did not like how long the buses took to get to all the parks. Last month our stay at BCV was simply wonderful. We had a one bedroom villa here too. I liked our room but two negatives stuck out :had only one bathroom with way too many doors and no pull out chair, just the pull out sofa. Now I only have 2 kids, but one is a girl and the other is a boy. My 11 year old boy prefers to sleep without his sister as she is a mover and shaker in her sleep. So needless to say during our stay last month he asked my DH to switch with him some nights so he could sleep in our bed without the mover and shaker. With that said, it all worked out fine. We managed fine with the one bathroom. Our room was room #348 and the walk from the lobby or Epcot was so close. We always walked into Epcot and even one day walked in HS. During our stay the boats were down so we did have the option to take a bus to HS as well, which we did one day. The buses were quick and no problem at all.
Now I am thinking of our next stay and I keep coming back to Beach Club. My family mentioned staying at Bay Lake Tower but by the time we go again both kids will be 14 and 11 and MK may not be so great to them anymore. I guess the next 3 years time will tell, but I just wanted to say to everyone that we loved our stay last month at BCV!!!!!

Thank you for this...we stayed at AKL in the 1 bdrm last fall and I loved it except the long walk to the room and how far it was from every park! We picked BC for this trip but I was concerned about 1 bathroom. I feel much better about my choice now

We have both cribs and PnP's available. And yes, only one of those rooms has a daybed. MAKE SURE YOUR RESERVATION HAS "daybed requested" on the reservation!!!!! Unfortunately (we very much dislike the architect that designed the Y&B) there are many many room sizes and configurations at the Y&B. Some rooms would fit both with no trouble. Some would really have a hard time getting them in. My favorite room (and its a CL Standard) is 5648. That room is huge and has a daybed but only a standing balcony. However, it is huge ... almost the size of a deluxe room. So I can't answer your question as to will both fit ... it depends on what room you get.

It's been years since I've actually worked and been in the rooms over at the YC so I honestly don't know. Hopefully some of our YC posters will be able to help her. All I know for certain is that if she has a standard view, it will be parking lot or roof she will see. But as you know, even with a roof view, it isn't all bad ... you got to see fireworks over the trees from Magic Kingdom.

That turned out to be a great view for us! It didn't matter in the early morning hours, it was too dark to care about the view. We are out of our room by 7 am every morning. We don't spend much time in the room during the day, but it was aweseome to have the fireworks view at night, because it gave me something to enjoy while everyone else was asleep. The guys don't really care about fireworks very much, so the only time I got to watch the fireworks were from the balcony, a couple of solo trips to watch Illuminations and a solo viewing of Nightastic from the Poly Beach.

As you well know by now, I don't really care what I'm looking at, as long as I am looking at it from a FULL BALCONY!

It sounds like heatherbelle would be spending much more time in the room than I do, so I can certainly see why a decent view would be important to her.

I'd be interested to know the bed configurations in the standard BC CL rooms please, when I looked on the website it mentioned various configurations including 1 queen, 2 queen, daybed, etc.

Many thanks

There are rooms with two queens, there are rooms with two queens and a daybed, there are rooms with a king bed, there are rooms with one queen and a daybed.

That is awesome...I am going to keep trying for YC CL I have SV but I want a GV. It is only $5/night(before discount) extra between the two but I think that they are sold out:sad2:

We started with a sv cl room for the whole 15 days - that was the only thing available for us with the discount. We can't book a wv cl room because we are a family of 5. I checked every day. Eventually we were first able to split the reservation and had gv cl July 16-25 and sv cl July 25-31.

I checked every day and finally today one opened up. I quickly emailed my TA and within minutes we had the gv cl room for the second part.

Don't give up! It's been two weeks since the discount came out and it seems like they are slowly releasing more rooms.

The only thing I keep thinking is that will I have to go through this all over again when AP rates come out!!!!

Good luck!

P.S. Wave hello to Newport Beach for us if you're ever passing by - we're not going this summer because we're trying the 3-night Dream cruise and we'll miss it! If we cruise again, I'm lobbying for the MR cruise so we can leave out of LA and get a couple days in Newport!

Will do! My office is about 3 miles away from NB! Sorry our paths won't cross at WDW, I see you are visiting in Aug. and we are at the end of July. Enjoy the Dream!:banana::banana:

Yay!! As a fellow stalker of discounted BC GV CL rooms, I can really appreciate this!! And for the whole 15 days WITH the discount - now that's an accomplishment! :cheer2:

That's exactly what I feel like - a stalker!!

Now I'm still stalking the Wishes Dessert Party for July. You can see it on the calendar but it won't let you book it yet. I'm stalking and I have BC IPO stalking!

The funny thing is I may have to stalk all over again if and when AP rates come out!

TeenaS if you're still out there, please help! Since I am pretty sure you know just about everything about the BC, I have a quick question for you. ( I'm sorry to be a pain!!)

How possible is it to get a full balcony at the BC if we request it ? That's kind of my only hesitation to the BC. I love it and it's gorgeous, it's just that when we stayed at the GF, I absolutely loved sitting out on the balcony. I am leaning towards BC over YC because our DD is 6, so I kind of felt like the BC would be better suited. But the balcony seems to be a sticking point. Would I be better just doing YC and playing it safe ? :confused3

What type of room did you book? If full balcony is your ONLY request, you have a pretty good shot. Worse case scenario is that you don't get it for the first night and they switch you the second night. Now if you are real picky about other things like the location of your room, which floor, etc., it gets harder. Make sure you have only one request and it is "full balcony requested" ... make sure that is on the reservation or the computer system can't assign it if it doesn't see it. Also, do NOT do an on-line check-in. When you go up to the regular check-in, just say immediately, "a full balcony is very very important for us so before you cut keys, could you please check to see if I have one." If they should say "no", then tell them you would like a room change and if one is not available today, you want one tomorrow with a full balcony. Tell them that is your only request!!

All the CL GV rooms at the BC have full balconies. There are nine CL GV room at the BC.

There are only five CL GV rooms at the YC. There are 34 CL SV rooms at the YC.
Which five YC rooms are GV/CL?

I see on the Disneyzone map that 5195, 5197 and 5199 are listed as SV, but the map is old and doesn't label GV rooms. I know I booked a GV room and stayed in 5197 last year and we had a view of SAB.

If those three rooms are in fact GV rooms, do you know where the other two GV rooms are? Are there YC/GV/CL rooms that don't overlook SAB?

TeenaS,
For our Lagoon View - Club Level reservation at the Beach Club we didn't put down any requests for a full balcony. So I was wondering does that mean we will get a room with a smaller balcony or whatever is available with that room category? Honestly it's not a big deal because we are only there for a 4 nights so I am just wondering.

I do not have the "rack map" at home so I honestly can't tell you. That old map is no good other than for room numbers. I just looked at it and I can't even begin to guess which five are garden because ones I know look out to woods, garden and/or courtyard could also have a roof underneath that you can see so that would disqualify them.

Yes, there are five lagoon view club level rooms (out of 26) that do not have a full balcony. Just add "full balcony requested" onto your reservation if you think you'd want one.

Balconies and views were never important to me and my family... we only slept, changed clothes, showered in the room. I always would book standard view (mostly club level though). I'd save the money for a massage or a dinner at Yachtsman. However, some people actually do spend lots of time on the balcony and looking at the view so it is important to them. I remember once when I spent the extra money at the Grand for a castle view. We spent five minutes the day we checked in staring at the castle while standing on the balcony ... loved it. Never walked out on the balcony or checked the view again. That's when I learned to save the money since our family never really cared except for the first five minutes.

Hello CR Resort Fan,

Just because I need to live vicariously through the trips of others while the long months pass until March 2012, please tell me more about your trip.

Are you staying CL at both BW and BC and how long are you there for? It looks like you have a wonderously long trip planned.

Are you still a true CR Resort Fan or are you being swayed by the other resorts?

:)
