Welcome Back Teena. Glad to hear the good news. We hope to meet you during our stay at BC from 5/13-5/24. We'll make a special look-see for you on the weekends.

Have two easy but seemingly silly questions. This is our first trip to DW and even though we have been to the DL hotels over a dozen times, we never stated at concierge/club level. Until this trip! Since we are coming all the way from Hawaii, we splurged for BC CL.

Do we need to leave another special mousekeeping envelope for turndown serivice? We always leave one for the usual cleaning of the room in the morning but we are not sure how this is handled for the evening turndown service. We are planning some days to leave the room in the morning and not return until late that night.

We read that the CL contacts some folks here that were staying at CL prior to their trip to ask if they had any special requests. Did we mis-read this? Is this only for when you book through WDW Travel? We booked through our AAA office.

Thanks. We are counting down the 41 days until we are there...

I wanted to ask if you defintely compared the villas rate to the regular room rate.

I did today (using the new discount) for our upcoming trip and it was actually just a few more dollars (I recall $40 for 7 nights) for a garden view room at the resort than it would have been for the studio at the villas. If I had selected a standard view, it would have been even close in price.

I have stayed at both and if the price difference is not too much, I would definitely prefer staying in the resort to the villas. You do lose the kitchenette, but you will still have a fridge and the 2 queen beds is much better than the pull out. My young kids both slept on it fine, but I don't think I would want to sleep on it for a week even if I am not a big person. I also thought the beds in the resort were more comfortable than the beds in the villas. Plus the bedding and decor is much nicer.

Just my 2 cents but thought I would throw it out there. We've stayed at Pop too and like it as well, although the beds are smaller. We tend to stay there when we go and won't have much time, if any, to swim due to cooler weather ... but summer time, no doubt Beach Club is a must do.

I did price it out with resort. we wanted to stay at the resort, actually, but it was $250+ to book the resort. We are already moving from Pop so I didn't want to spend that much. At least we are at the BC:banana:. We love being close to the action! Maybe I will let DH have the bed one night in there :)

Tipping is a personal thing. I hope others that stay CL will give you their opinion on this too. Personally I only tip the regular mousekeeper daily but again, this is my personal opinion.

I hope you don't leave the resort early and come back late alot and you get to spend some time at the resort. You really don't get the value out of CL if you leave early and don't come back until late (food/drinks/etc.). Also, one of the best things about staying at the Y&B is the location so that you can hit the parks in the AM, easily come back to enjoy the resort during the hottest part of the day (SAB) and then easily get back to the parks for the cooler evenings.

You should make contact with CL CMs now and let them know what reservations you need made. There is an email address at the beginning of this thread.

See you soon!

I originally had a room booked at Pop (we are normally deluxe stayers!). It kind of scared me but it was affordable and we could make it work. Then I thought of booking POFQ to get the queen beds for us. It's me, DH, DD16 and DD8.
Then this morning when the 30% came out, I got on the phone to see what was available at the Beach Club. The cheapest we could do was a Studio room at the BCV.

we Stayed at the BC last August and LOVED the location. We really are not in our room very much but we love the location. Do you think the queen bed and the pull out will be enough for us? Me and DD16 will get the bed (because I planned this trip afterall) and DH and DD8 will get the pull out. We are not big people. Or small people. Just average I would say.

DD8 and DH can sleep anywhere and are usually asleep within 2 minutes of laying down. Me and DD16 are another story. We don't sleep well.

Will the studio villa be OK for us? I really don't want to move resorts and I love that we can do a deluxe with this discount. I can't imagine the Pop beds being anymore comfortable than a pull out?

Help!

My kids slept on a pull-out bed last year. We were surprised by how comfortable the pull-out was. In the interest of full disclosure, my kids were 4 and 6 at the time so not the same as an adult. I think it would be worth it to be at BC instead of Pop (although, disclosure, we've only ever stayed deluxe so maybe I'm just being a snob!).

I've searched through the closed BC/YC threads, but I can't seem to find any photos of the YC Junior Suite/Deluxe Room. The only photos I found were a few old ones on the "Our Laughing Place" site.

I did discover that they're rooms 4201 and 3201 and are 645 sq. ft. with two queens and a separate living room. There seemed to be some confusion on one thread as to whether they actually have French doors or not.

I would love to hear from anyone who has stayed in one or has even just been in one.

Thanks:goodvibes

hi all
Our trip is coming up soon and i had a couple of questions that I didn't see the answer to already on this thread (I may have missed it though!)

does the Marketplace have a microwave or toaster for guest use? I know they do in the value and mod resorts but I'm not sure if they do here as well.

Also, does anyone have pictures of a room with a daybed? The pictures on allears do not show any with daybeds.

Thanks!

We were upgradd to one last summer and it was great!!!! The one I stayed in was 2 bedrooms - each had a king bed. 2 baths and a living room. It was the size of 5 hotel rooms I was told. not sure if this is the one you mean or not but I had 2 seperate entrances into the room from the hallway. Now that I look at your sq feet this can't be it...this room was HUGE...But I do think it was called a 2 bedroom Jr. suite..There are double doors from main hallway into the entryway/living room foyer...

I just looked up my old room key it was 4209...

Thanks, Amanda. That is what I kind of thought too. Nothing against Pop at all, but we just love the Epcot area and if the only way to stay there is to get a Studio Villa with a pull out, I thought we could survive. It saved us $210 from a room at the BC. When we are stretching the budget to even stay at an Epcot resort, $210 more is a lot of money. (23 Grey Goose Slushies to be exact ;))

My DH is an average sized guy 5"11 and 200 pounds? There is no way another person could have fit into the pull out with him....He can handle it for a 1 or 2 nights as we normally tag a DVC night onto a trip to save a little cash by renting points but that pull out ino a bed honestly I don't think could fit your DH and DS. At least not at your son's age...It would be like 2 grown men in there. I don't see it...

We love to stand or sit out on the balcony in the morning. We have a GV room reservation @ BC. Would love any suggestions on which GV room numbers have a nice view, so we can request :confused3

Thanks a bunch for any information, suggestions you can provide us with :flower3:

All the garden view rooms have a nice view (or they would be a standard view). They will have a view of a wooded area, a garden or a courtyard. If you enjoy a full balcony, you should add "full balcony requested" to your reservation.

Hey Teena,

Just back from an all day Science Fair for the elementary schools and off in a few minutes to a middle school performance of "Once Upon a Mattress", but I'll try to answer a couple of questions.

Tipping is a personal thing. I hope others that stay CL will give you their opinion on this too. Personally I only tip the regular mousekeeper daily but again, this is my personal opinion.

We tipped both the mousekeeper and the turndown (a couple of bucks each night). There were a couple of times we knew we would be gone all day, so I left a note for the housekeeping tip, and one that said Turndown-thanks!

Not sure about the microwave/toaster in the Marketplace but I believe you can request a microwave for your room, free of charge- based upon availability. I think someone said there is a toaster you can use, but it is one of the monstrous ones that sends your bread around like a rotisserie chicken. I am always too intimidated to use one of those!

Check the Yacht Club section on the front page of this thread- I think there is a picture of a room with a daybed. You may want to check out the link to Y&BC photos on the front page- there could be some there.

Teena, I think you have said the layouts in rooms are vastly different from one to another. Correct?

Did you post pictures of the room when you got back? On the FAQ thread? Elsewhere? I think I remember seeing them, but I could be imagining that!

Dee, you are correct, the rooms at both the YC and BC are different in size, layout, etc. Our architects made it very difficult. For instance, some of the regular standard view rooms are almost as large as the deluxe rooms, some are half the size. Some people think corner rooms are larger and they are right ... some are. However, some of the corner rooms are smaller too. We have strange buildings!

I believe someone asked about the deluxe room at the YC. There are two deluxe Club Level Rooms at the Yacht Club ... both have 2 queens in them. One is on Third Floor, One is on Fourth Floor. The room Scottmel had was not one of those. She had one of the suites ... not a deluxe CL room. The BC has six of the Deluxe Club Level Rooms but they have two queens and a daybed in them.

Yes I did post pictures of that room over in the picture thread....I would have put them out maybe June or July 2010? I would post again here but I can NEVER figure out how to d pictures...such a trial for me. Will try though...

Ok I think I figured out how to post again.
Upgraded YC Suite - 2 bed, 2 bath, 2 balcony. Room 4209.Club level privledges. I was told it was the size of 5 standard rooms..

2 Balconies. One overlooked SAB and the other I think a garden area but I can't remember....I LOVE the SAB pic and that long hallway one...though it is funny to be in such a huge space, we kept losing everything! Where are my sunglasses? Anyone see my purse? What bathroom is my bathing suit in? We were like chickens with our heads cut off!! :lmao:

Yes, you're correct, I asked about the YC Jr. Suite/Deluxe rooms (3201 & 4201) and not the 2-bedroom suite. But I enjoyed the photos anyway! Thanks for trying to help, scottmel.
