2011 Anniversary & Birthday Trip-Updated 8/24/09

Sorry I have not been on for awhile, busy with all the holiday's.

Well an update for our trip: We are now trying to decide what dining plan to pick. We would love to do either the platinum or the premium but when I try to plan a day, it just looks like we would always be doing something to make sure we got our money's worth. I think, because this is a celebration trip and we are going to be relaxing a bit, we should take the deluxe plan. We want to try new resturants. I feel for the savings from the premium plan, if we wanted to do any of the water sports or tours, we would be able to, just pay cash for it, but knowing all our meals will be taking care of is a plus. What do you think?

Even though we've booked the dining plan, we will most likely have it taken off our reservations. I love aps & they aren't on the plan or tips. And sometimes I'm just not as hungry & trying to get a table service in b/c its pd for has been a problem in the past. Someone suggested having an envelope for each resturaunt or day & putting what you plan to spend aside (including tip). That way everything is pd for in advance & if you don't use it you haven't wasted anything. On the other hand, the convience of the more expensive plans where you get all sorts of goodies & you can eat whereever you want sounds pretty wonderful. Luckily you have time to save for it & you can always change your mind if you realize its just not gonna be worth it.

Every once in awhile I will sit down and try a "day" to see what it would turn out like. Would we just be eating all the time and what extras could we do? Most of the time I like the deluxe dining, but now that you have told me about the envelopes, I may just do that.

I think it all depends if you are a saver or not. I'm not really very good at it. I have to put it in the envelope & seal it. Or I buy Disney Dollars & put those instead of cash. I'm less tempted to spend it beforehand. But, I'm very good at figuring out how much we will need. I always over budget a bit. DD & I went on a solo trip & we did an envelope for each day (we had every resturaunt planned before hand). I figured in snacks too. And once the money was gone we could either take from the next day & cancel a ressie or we were just done eating for the day. We actually ended up w/ about $100 leftover & so we used it to buy presents for ourselves. Best tip is to over budget. That way you never feel deprived or like money is an issue.

I know we are still out awhile until we go, but I am trying to get everything done so we can save our money and enjoy our trip. I believe we have our "final answer" lol

I am so excited, I finally feel comfortable and feel like a huge rock has been lifted off my shoulders. We originally were going to go for 6 nights, drive down (15 hours, pay for hotel on way down and back and be exhausted). Well we have found if we watch the airline rates we can fly down, stay at POP for 7 nights with 2 day tickets and the counter service (if they still have it) for less then our 6 nights at the Contemporary. I am sooooo excited, I have never gotten to go for 7 nights.

I booked us a trip for January 30-February 5, 2010. It will just be my DH and myself and we are going to the Fort. I can't wait, It has been almost 30 years since I stayed at the Fort and my husband has never been there. I have everything figured out, we are only going to the park one day (just to go to Donald's gift shop)

Congrats & How exciting to be going sooner than you thought. I'll be updating too soon. So, keep checking.

Congrats on your DS!!

Ok, I have not been on for awhile, with graduation parties (3 count them 3 for 1 daughter) and vacation I have not had time to update. We do have good news, my DBIL is getting married so we know we have a 4 th now lol-she is awesome-Congrats to both of them
