I believe I mentioned before that our DISdog (JJ) has been having seizures for the past few months. Sadly, we had to put him to sleep this past Friday. Last week, he took a turn for the worst. He could hardly walk and yelped in pain randomly. So, we felt the only humane thing to do was to finally put him at peace. It was such a hard and painful decision to make. JJ has been such a great dog and part of our family. He was our fourth child. It just killed Bill and I to see him suffer. Hopefully, he will finally be at peace. It was hard on the children. But, the worst for Emily. She still doesn't go an hour without mentioning him. I know over time, she will get better and more at peace with our decision. She saw how much in pain he was and he was not the dog he was a few weeks ago. She surprised me by asking to swap some of his DNA off his water bowl to keep and bury in the backyard. So, he is always close to us. I thought that was sweet.
JJ was very loved by our Vet's office too. We boarded him there during every WDW trip and other trips. So, they got to know and love JJ. He was very sweet and gentle. They used to let him roam through the office in the back out of his cage. Everytime I would pick him up, they would tell me someone that came in with their own pet would inquire if JJ was up for adoption because he was friendly to everyone. He had that effect on people. I just couldn't take JJ to the Vet Friday morning. So, Bill was the one who ended up taking JJ in. He said everyone in the office was crying, including the Vet (which didn't help him any). I am glad JJ touched so many in his short life. He came to us from an abused home and could have easily been aggressive. But, he was a very special dog that appreciated our love and affection. He used to sit by my feet when I was on the computer. He would huddle under the desk where my feet go. Today, he isn't there. I miss you JJ ...

I am so sorry!

We had to put our Sandy down when he was six, due to cancer.. It was really hard. Our Ozzie is 14, and he is having trouble walking
