Thanks Disneymom but my free trip was this PAST August! I forget how to chqange the ticker so I am fantasizing that I have yet another free trip this August! No such luck so far in 2012~

You'll have to enter the One More Day Sweepstakes. Maybe you'll get lucky? By the way, I think if you double click on your ticker, it brings up the site to do a new one. Then you need to go into your signature and add the new ticker.

Thanks natebenma - every year we wish we could stay longer; this year we've decided to make our wishes come true. Everyone at work thinks I'm nuts - and maybe 23 days will be too long - but there's nowhere else we'd rather be.

So what would I do if I had an extra "twenty three" days? Way to go!! I'm betting you are hoping for some of those pixie boulders to be thrown your way. Could you imagine having three weeks in that suite? Congratulations on following your dream and just doing it!

Been there every day, first thing I do in the morning at the office. Still waiting for some of that magical pixie dust to be thrown my way. Can't complain though. Over the last four decades we've won two trips for stays at the World. Did one at the Poly, the other at CR. BC/YC hadn't been built then. Oh what memories.

That is fantastic! With that kind of time, you can definitely take it slow and easy and maybe do some of the things that go overlooked on shorter trips.

Will you be enjoying any of the other Orlando attractions (The Dark Side, perhaps) or is it pure Disney fun? What are you doing for dining?

we were there the week after christmas and the cl level was wonderful!! our room was right outside the lounge and we were in there everyday. they had tables, and i believe 2 sofas. the concierge's service was unbelieveable! we had a total of 32 people on the cl floor with 14 kids! They made a lot of magic happen for our group. would love to go back!

I was wondering how it went for your big group. Thanks so much for your upbeat report and great pictures.

scottmel - We've stayed at both BC CL and YC CL and didn't notice much difference in the size of the lounges.

snowdrift17 - wow you beat us! We stayed 18 nights at Disney last year and still didn't think it was too much!!!

Sorry, I just have to see my ticker today.:rolleyes1 Still can't believe how close we are to our first trip to the BC!! We have never even visited the Epcot resorts so this will be whole new experience for us.:cool1:

I need to go through our reservations and decide whether to keep O'hana or not. I tried for a reservation for weeks so we could try it and finally got it but now I am not sure we will want it. I put on weight this week from eating out too much and we need to eat lighter on the trip. It seems like it is alot of meat and I am not sure we will care for the noodles at all. For those that have been is it worth the cost and trip over there? We love the Kona Cafe and I wonder if we would prefer it instead.

We may be in the minority, but our family prefers the Kona Cafe to 'Ohana. To be fair, we ate at 'Ohana on the last night of a very intense commando trip so we were really too exhausted to enjoy the meal. It also took awhile to be seated, so we ate much later than we had at other restaurants.

We enjoyed all of the food at 'Ohana, but there was A LOT of it.

Ohana Means (Exhausted) Family

We ate at Kona Cafe for dinner on our one day MK trip last summer and it was fabulous.

Dinner at Kona Cafe

I'm with natebenma - we don't like 'Ohana for dinner. We have never been very impressed with the food, so we don't get there anymore. I love Kona, but I've only been there for breakfast, so not really a fair comparison.

We're weird, I think - we also didn't like Cape May Cafe dinner a few years ago, and we just went to the Captain's Grille last weekend and I personally thought it was just okay. Guess we are harder to please than I like to admit. But we're never unhappy with our meals at Disney, just not overwhelmingly positive either.

You'll certainly be harder to please when it comes to rooms! BTW- is that you in the commercial trying to buy the crown jewels???

Just kidding, of course. ;)

OK I am jumping out of my skin and I have to tell someone. We were booked in a deluxe room at the BC and I changed it to a 1 bedroom suite as a surprise for DH and DS.:woohoo: I thought this would be a nice way to celebrate our 25th anniversary trip in June. Phew now I don't feel like I am going to burst anymore.

I am with everyone who does not like Ohana's. The last time we ate there it was 2010 and we were not happy at all. Now we have eaten there many times before but in 2009 and 2010 were not good. So we definitely crossed Ohana's off our list. We have never eaten at Kona's and we have an ADR there in June. So we are definitely looking forward to trying Kona's for dinner.

Glad you could share the surprise with us!!! Sounds awesome!

Thank you for your responses on O'hana's and Kona Cafe.:thumbsup2
I cancelled O'hana's and rescheduled Kona's. I think it is more our speed. If we were traveling with other kids it might be a fit but I know that Nathan will not get involved in the activities on his own.

So I am done!
Our meals if we make it to them all (I have been known to call while there and cancel all reservations so that we can go with the flow more:rolleyes1) are

Garden Grill Dinner for Nate's Bday (never been there)
Captains Grille for breakfast (never been)
Sci Fi (have never tried this place)
Yachtsman Steakhouse for our Anniversary Dinner Nate at the Sandcastle Club (both new to us)
Liberty Tavern for lunch on our MK day (new too)
Kona Cafe for dinner (have been here before and loved it)
Cape May Cafe Dinner (new as well)
Cape May breakfast (again new as well)

It looks like the only place we have been to is the Kona Cafe. Didn't realize that until I was typing them out. We have never scheduled a lunch or dinner meal in MK or DHS so this will be a nice treat not to have to search for a meal somewhere.

Praying for great weather while there! Looks like it has been nice in recent weeks.

I need "multi-quoting for dummies"! :rotfl2:

A few pages back there were instructions for doing this.

In the bottom right corner of every post, there are 3 buttons:

The normal "Quote" (Reply) button
The "Multi-Quote" button (quotation marks and the plus sign)
The "Quick Reply" button (quill and parchment)

To multi-quote- go to the first post you want to quote. Click on the middle (MQ) button. It will highlight.

Go to the next post you want to quote. Click on the MQ button. It will highlight.

Do that for as many posts as you want to quote.

Then hit the normal Reply button.

You will be taken to the reply screen and will see all the posts you are tryinng to reply to. You can type in between each of the quotes, or after the last one appears.

HTH-

BTW- I learned to hyperlink this week (embedding the address of something I want to link in words, instead of the link address, like the trip reports in my signature) I'm so proud of myself!

For anyone who visits page 1 of this thread-

Do you get annoying loading issues? When I am trying to scroll down to the Be Our Guest list, it takes a long time to get to the bottom of the page, I think because there are so many pictures.

Even when I bring the cursor all the way to the bottom, it goes back to the middle.

I find this happens when I am on pages that have a lot of pictures posted.

A mission, if you choose to accept it...

Anyone know how long the lazy river is? How long does it take to get to go around once, from beginning to end?

This is not crucial information, but if someone is going soon and thinks to time it out, please report back.

Thanks!

Dee

Hi everyone.:wave2: My daughter and I will be staying at BCV for Thanksgiving, 11/20-11/25. This will be our second visit. We just fell in love with the resort when we were there 9/2010. Cant's wait to see it in all its Christmas splendor. Just wanted to say what a wonderful thread you all have created. I have been a faithful lurker for some time now. Hope to lurk less and post more. Please include our names on the list. By the way, the lazy river challenge sounds like a mission for the noodle family. Would love to see those pics.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I usually just lurk and rarely post comments, but I have really enjoyed reading this thread daily. My family and I will be staying YC cl in May and this is a first for us. Previously, we stayed RPC at the GF. The posters on this thread are so nice and I am really enjoying the humor. Marlton Mom, you crack me up. Your sense of humor is both hilarious and intelligent. I can't wait until our YC vacation and I will continue to read this thread often. Thanks for all of the laughs, great information, and tips.
