They are calling for one to 3 inches here overnight. The worst part is they say it will melt and then refreeze overnight making the roads a mess tomorrow. I hate driving on icy roads!

Well, I finally did it. I booked Yachtsman for our Anniversary dinner and booked Nathan at the Sandcastle Club for the evening.:cool1::cool1: They even put Nathan down as celebrating his birthday even though I told him his birthday will be a couple days before.

The only thing that worries me is Disney is still not showing our BC reservation yet.:headache: It was booked through a convention. If they don't have it by Friday then we will have to call and check on it. I think they have until the 15th to send it to Disney but don't they know they are making us nervous over here!!

I have never changed a reservation. I don't have free dining or any discount right now, but if I see one of these discounts for that time, can I just call and have them apply (if available) the free dining or other discount to my current reservation?

I am using a Travel Agent and she just did this for me when I got a PIN code. She just called and had them apply it. I would imagine you can do the same since you have your confirmation number.

Where is "here"? Not anywhere near me I hope.

I just want to see some white stuff!

I woke up to a nice dusting on my car yesterday morning. That's enough for me.

(I also flew home from GA/FL back during the middle of that October storm - seriously, in the storm. We were the last flight to land at TF Green in Providence and it was the worst flight I've ever been on in my life. Drove up 95 and almost spun out. Finally get off the highway and driving through our town and we notice that there are no lights. We were without power for 4 days. I really don't care if I never see another snowflake this winter. That was enough for me.)

Thanks! I am so hoping for a decent discount. Kids liked the TS of free dining, so that may be a good fit for us. I do have a confirmation number, and are always hoping for a pin or other discount that I could apply.

We came back from Disney the day AFTER that storm. We knew we were going home to no power/heat, work and school were canceled. I still say why the HECK did we get on that plane? I don't know what more of an excuse we needed to stay.:confused3

I have less than a week left in this air cast and I've been so lucky that I haven't had to deal with snow since wearing it. I don't want it to happen now.

I hear you on that one... I've been in the air cast for about 5 weeks now and on crutches no weight bearing... wet of any kind is NOT good.. my crutches slide in the wet!! And I'm lucky I went to the Dr. today and he said I get to stay in it for 4 more weeks!!!! Then he said the boot is working out for you ok right... I said I HATE this boot.. He said it's better than a cast isn't it?!?! So I said oh yes so much better.. :lmao: I go for an xray Friday and that will tell if the bone is healing... The only good thing about this is my job is allowing me to work from home with full pay! All I know is Disney/Yankee Spring Training is looking AWESOME right now!

Sorry! Kansas City.

A few years ago we went to Disney I believe it was in March. There was a snow storm in KC the day we were leaving so we were stuck in the Orlando airport for 8 hours. Not fun. But at least we weren't stuck trying to get to Disney!

We weren't at Disney, but I told my husband and he quickly agreed) that if we are ever scheduled to fly home and they say that a Noreaster is bearing down on "home", we will not be getting on the plane. We were gripping the armrests so tight, I can't even explain the terror.

Thankfully nothing broken and I've also been in it 5 weeks. I torn the ligaments in my foot/ankle. They said I didn't have to go back to the hospital and I talked to my own doctor and she said that unless it wasn't getting any better, I didn't have to see her either...that and I have my annual physical soon too. I also haven't been using crutches. They didn't say "no weight bearing", so I wasn't worried about it. It's just so hard to use crutches on public transportation so I have to figure it's safer for me to just walk with the air cast and not use the crutches.

Ah, you're closer to my sisters. They are both in IL, one almost on the MO border.

3 years ago i tore a tendon in my ankle... that was horrible required surgery! This time I broke the 5th Metatarsal... thankful I didn't need surgery! I do understand about public transportation... I live in NYC and thats how I get to and from work... which is why I say they have been great letting me work from home!! Hope all continues to go well for you and NOOOO SNOW!!

You know I've been trying to convince you that you're too darn old for that Bowling Ball Soccer league you're always playing in. If you don't watch it you're going to get thick ankles like the ones Marlton Mom got from playing Field Hockey!

~Marlton Mom
PS. Pass the crutches, all this walking to get in shape for my trip is KILLING my "Field Hockey" ankles!

This is what we did - we booked full rack rate for BC CL and stalked the boards for the discounts. I called when one was released and got $1880 off my total which was more than DDP for the four of us. HTH

Not to beat a dead horse about the snakes thing....but I do have another question that hopefully you can help me with!

In the area of the resort that houses the Deluxe CL rooms 1557-4557 (right by the quiet pool) - if you're on floors 2-4 - is there any access to the outside from that area, or do you have to go all the way back through the lobby & go around the building to get to the quiet pool? I would love love love to have the outdoor access from the ground level room - for the quiet pool, laundry room (I do laundry while there, crazy I know!) and closer access to IG - but the darn snake phobia keeps rearing it's ugly head in my mind. If there is quick access to these areas from floors 2-4 without having to go back through the halls, through the lobby & out around the building, then no worries.

Teena that's great news about the pins! Do you wear a lanyard for pin trading at BC? My boys are really into pin trading, it can consume an entire day for them in WDW.

OoOh! Oooh! I know I know!! Pick Meee....

WHY YES, there IS an elevator and door to the outside RIGHT THERE. I used it a million times. If you are at the quiet pool facing the laundry room this door /elevator spot is behind you to your right in the corner where the pool deck intersects with the hotel .

In other (useless) news:
After you exit the elevator and as you zig zag your way back to the lobby on the ground floor you will pass my favorite fish lamp. I'll have you know Marlton Mom was a Good Girl and she didn't try to cram that lamp in her carry on as she tearfully checked out of the hotel last June.... so it's STILL there!

My favorite fish lamp by Marlton Mom, on Flickr

When Bobby and Cindy Brady were lost while on vacation in some of the Brady bunch episodes they would often times leave bread crumbs and trash to mark their path. This fish lamp stood as testament that Marlton Mom was on the right path, which is refreshing since she rarely is at any other time. I often thought that if housekeeping rearranged the furniture and moved that Lamp I would still be wandering the halls looking for my room.

Now I have to tell those nervous Nellies, FREAKING OUT at the fact that BC might be so huge, that they need to calm down. Navigating the hallways of the Beach Club is NOTHING when compared to trying to find your room at the Wilderness Lodge! Why heck, famed TV adventurer Bear Grylls got lost more than once in the Wilderness Lodge and they had to send in a team of Navy penguins to rescue him. (BTW WHO names their child "Bear"?.... Seriously!)

Any place that is named "wilderness" and "lodge" should be a warning to even the densest among us (Marlton Mom especially.... the dense part I mean..)

Nope. The Beach Club is a piece of cake when compared to some of the monstrosities of Disney lodging. Why I'd bet there isn't one of us on this board who hasn't made it out alive... (Bear Grylls excepted because you know how he just likes to get LOST ON PURPOSE!)

~MM

PS. If you happen to come across Bear Grylls, STILL lost at the Wilderness Lodge, do him a favor and throw him a beef jerky stick and a resort map.

Awesome, awesome info MM - THANKS!! I love that you clued me in on the fish lamp. I too need to leave crumbs to find my way sometimes, and this landmark will certainly help me find my way!!! I will chuckle when I pass it for sure, making my family think I had one too many in the CL lounge.

PIXARMOM!! OMG you just posted a pic of the BC quiet pool over on the Resort Changers thread - could you pretty pretty please post it here so I can now match it up with the info MM just gave me, so I have a visual?? In your great pic, you're looking directly at the Deluxe CL rooms on the corner - now my question is - where the heck is the laundry room in that pic?

Thank you everyone, you're all so helpful!

MM- that is EXACTLY the kind of humor I need today as I sit cooped up in my house watching it snow :sad2: It was 55 here yesterday too :sad1: Bonus points for a Brady Bunch tie in too! :thumbsup2

I second the notion that BC hallways are NOTHING in comparison to some of the other resorts. AKL comes to mind since it seems like you are constantly switching elevators over there to get to the various floors

In Pixar mom's picture (say THAT fast 10 times...)

There are 2 people in the upper right corner of the pool, then there's 4 lounge chairs on the left and an umbrella on the right. In between those chairs/ umbrella is a path that goes in the corner of the building, under that umbrella shaped tree.
THAT'S the path that takes you to the door and the elevator is right near there up a little ways, 10 steps?? (I think).

The laundry building is on your left out of the picture.

Hows THAT for service!

~MM
