MVMCP was ok. I don't think I will be going back. The reason why is it is way to crowded. Because of the parades ect. you can't get to any rides and you are routed all over the place. We did hit tommorow land and waited over an hour to get belle and beast photo. We wanted the seven dwarfs but it was 1 45 min wait. Just not worth the money. I will wait till the last party is over and see the parade and the fireworks then.

I felt the same way when we went a few years back. It was far too crowded. There were so many people still there without MVMCP tickets, plus everyone with the tickets. And the roped off areas just made it difficult to maneuver. Thankfully, we paid for our tickets with a free Visa gift card that we'd gotten, otherwise I would have been really upset at spending so much $$ for that hassle. It would have been a lot more enjoyable if they'd closed the park at say 5 or 6 pm and then re-opened just for MVMCP ticket holders.

Oh, and can anyone direct me to MM's fireworks photo tips? My dad was a photographer and I figure with his tips and MM's, perhaps I can get some fantastic fireworks shots on our next trip.

Thank you Neighbor. (we live in Foxboro)

You are welcome!

My favorite football team is from Foxboro too! Love the location in your profile.

Did you give the dates and resort for your trip a day or so ago?

When I get a chance :rolleyes1, I need to add a few people to the Page 1 guest list.

Can anyone suggest if staying at the Yacht Club Garden view a Room Request? Are there any particular rooms that I should request while making a reservation :) Thanks for the help

I didn't give exact dates but just mentioned October because we hadn't finalized them, but hubby and I talked about it last night and I think it's going to be Oct. 28-Nov. 4. We are going to book right after the 1st of the year, so I'll make sure I post here when it's official.

My favorite gv rooms at the Yacht Club are facing the wedding gazebo.
Great sideway views of Crescent Lake too!

Josh has a tour of the YC with pics of the Christmas decorations and pictures of the new YC resort merchandise that Mike had mentioned seeing. I love the shirts. I hope that they get something similar for the BC before we get there in Feb. These pics make me even more excited even though we are staying at the BC!!

Wish we were there to see the decorations in person. Nathan was all excited. I had to remind him that they will be gone when we get there.:sad2:

I want to join in your fun. We will making our first BC stay June 20-28. I am getting married down there at the Swan on June 22. My girls aren't thrilled with staying here since they have never seen it (they love Poly!), but I showed them the first page and I think seeing the pool helped them. I can't wait to go!

You suffered through some lean years, Jay! I was living in NH when I first started watching the Pats and even when the home games were blacked out, I was able to watch them on the Portland Maine channel.

We checked in at YC yesterday and got the good news that our room was upgraded...first floor with a balcony facing the quiet pool/laundry rooms :). We're having a great time so far, the weather is awesome and while last night at MK was super crowded we've done everything we wanted with little to no wait!

DD is 42" so we were worried about height checks for rides, but so far she's been able to ride all 40" stuff...Dinosaur and BTMR scared her a bit, but she loved Splash Mountain!

Hello, all,

I've just booked our trip to BC for 3/26 - 4/2/12, and I'm wondering a couple of things. What are the odds of getting a full balcony. And what type of quick breakfast can be obtained at the BC/YC? We were at YC 5 years ago, but I can't recall what the morning options were outside a sit down meal!(?). I didn't see a link for the Marketplace (maybe I overlooked it).

Thanks, all in advance. And can I ask a dumb ?, is Teena a concierge at the BC? Great pics from all, by the way!

:welcome:

Glad you are making a return trip to the Yacht & Beach resort!

To answer your questions-

I believe the odds of getting a full balcony are about 50%. Make sure a request for a room with a full balcony is on your reservation.

Teena is a greeter in the Beach Club lobby. She is not behind a desk, but is out on the floor meeting people as they come into the resort, chatting with guests, pin trading with kids, answering questions about Disney World and sometimes rescuing damsels in distress who are shivering in the lobby in a wet bathing suit because the rest of her family took off with the room key!

She usually works on Sundays and Mondays unless she is on vacation and occasionally covers extra shifts when the Beach Club is particularly busy. There is a mini bio (and picture) of Teena on Page 1, one of the last posts on that page, called "Lily's Pad"

There is a link on the first page (in the Amenities Section) to a thread we put together about the Marketplace- Lots of photos and information. I have copied that section and link here for your convenience:

marketplacesign-1.jpg

The Beach Club Marketplace has Disney-themed merchandise, swimwear and resort wear, books, groceries, sundries, suncare, candy and snacks.
Fresh pastries, yogurt parfaits, breakfast and lunch sandwiches and some prepackaged fresh food to go are available.

Here is a link to over 30 photos taken by Pixarmom in February 2011 and May 2011 showing some of the grocery items, sweets, treats, gifts and merchandise available in the Beach Club Marketplace. A price list of popular grocery items (August 2011) is also included on this thread- thanks for completing that mission, MickeyT(Mike)!
