I think you will LOVE YC!!! Great news about the gv room. My in-laws had a fabulous gv room at YC, first floor near the wedding gazebo. They had a nice sideway view of Crescent Lake!

I think so too! Slight problem this afternoon - our 5-year-old son and my travel companion for the April stay loves BC and is disappointed that I booked YC for our last night. I'd really like to be assured of that full balcony, and I'm excited to try something new. He's warming to YC, but what else should I tell him about it?

My kids liked looking at the globe in the lobby of the YC, and liked the fact that the YC side is closer to the water taxis. Other than that I can't think of many differences (other than color scheme) that separates the YC from the BC - of course the full balconies are great!

Hey Gang,
Just wanted to let everyone know we made it. At the Clarion off Sherboth Rd. (Near the AK and the Target Teena recommends). Drive down was good. Left at 4pm and arrived at 11. I-95 is much better through Georgia and Florida now that it is 6 lanes all the way.

After DW gets up we're gonna grab some off World breakfast and head over to WL and get our MK days out of the way. Going to Citricos tonight and Artist Point tomorrow for our 'big meals'. Then going to POR to see Yehaa Bob Thursday night with my sisters and family. Have heard a lot about him but have never experienced his show.

Going to try and do an early checkin Friday at BCV and get the weekend started there. Will keep everyone updated. Till then.......:cool2:

Glad you made it safely!! Enjoy your time and have a safe run! DD and I had dinner at Artist Point in November SOOO GOOD!! The muscles were YUMMMY!

Enjoy I look forward to reading your reports again!!

I thought of the Globe too. there's a hidden Mickey in it! He will have fun searching for it.

Good Morning BC/YC fans!

OK, I'm having a really hard time booking a change for April. Again, it's just our youngest son and me "on the way to the airport from the beach." So we're currently booked for 3 nights at POFQ because it's Easter week and the prices are really high, but I was thinking of switching to YC for our last night when the Spring discount kicks in. (Thanks to all for the great POFQ information and advice and thanks to Robyn, for the YC reassurance!)

I'll go with either garden view or CL garden view, and I'd prefer YC because we haven't stayed there before. GV is not available at YC, but it is at BC. Here's the problem: the cost is so much higher than usual. I mean, even with the Spring discount, a BC GV room is double the amount we paid in 2011. I know it's peak season and I have a pretty high tolerance for Disney prices, but I'm not sure about this one. Hoping for an AP discount . . Maybe the days of the 40% discount are gone - what does everyone think? With a $150/night difference between POFQ and BC GV, what would you do?

The AP rate for winter is 40%. We booked WL with a 40% AP rate. 13 more days till we leave :yay: So, no i don't think the days of 40% are gone yet, but don't know what the usual Spring AP discounts are. It's not a time we go. We're more Jan, and Aug people :goodvibes I like the less crowded times, and value rates!

Pixarmom - Guess what? We're going back to BC!!!!!! This year we are just doing BC GV, no CL, but I'm soooooo happy to go back to BC after all. I think we're going to stay two nights (July 16-18) at the Dolphin since we have fee nights with AMEX points, and then July 18-27 at BC.

Adding you to the guest list, with pleasure!

Thanks for the welcome, and I'm glad to be added. So happy it's finally official! We told the kids Christmas morning, and while I've been planning for a while, I didn't want my now 7 year olds to read over my shoulder!

Glad the cat is out of the bag! Adding you.

Natebenma ,thanks that would be great .

What are your checkin and checkout dates?

So good news here! This morning, a YC GV room became available with the spring discount! I'm still hoping for better - PIN, AP discount, etc. But I decided to take it now and apply a new discount if something becomes available. So Dee, could you please put us on the YC guest list for April 13-14 (after POFQ April 11-13!) So excited to try YC!

Happy to add you! Could you tell your son that Dee needs some pictures of the Yacht Club so you have to stay there? Would that help?

Just got of the phone with my AAA TA. We are booked for YC GV, Oct. 27-Nov. 3rd.

Congrats on your booking! I'll make sure your info up front is correct.

Please add us as confirmed BC'ers again for our trip:

6/9 - 6/16 DW, DD (8), DS (8) and me

Friends tagging along as well - DW, DH, DS (8)

Will do.

We are getting very excited! Nathan and I drove to the mall that has a Disney Store yesterday. Hoping to get some sweatshirts. We were only able to find t-shirts for Chuck and Nathan ( I had already found some for me at Wal-mart). Nathan also got a Disney journal and pen to match. He started writing in it last night to say how excited he is to be going to Disney with us. It was so sweet and actually funny. He writes with humor injected. MM he takes after you and is very quick witted!!:thumbsup2

Bought some sneakers for myself but they were not my favorite so may go on another search today. I have so many miles on mine that I need a new pair whether going to Disney or not. Chuck does too.

We need to book our dinner alone still. Can you wear jeans to the Flying Fish? I really don't have dress pants to bring. If the weather ends up summer like (which I doubt) I could bring a casual skirt.

Ordered Nate's Guide to the Magic book too. It is on it's way and I have my journal from them too for the trip. Want to make sure we keep these memories. Bought a camera right before Christmas and have been playing with it. Wish they came with a printed manual instead of downloaded one!:headache:

Jealous of everyone that is there now!

Forgot who posted a pic of the bathing suit but wanted to add that it is very cute!

How exciting to be at the 1 month mark!

Just wanted to chime in and say I LOVE the Guide to the Magic. Such great info and pictures. The only complaint I have it that is really too big to drag it around to parks. But my son Ben would bring it to dinner and work on it while waiting for meals or would fill it out when we returned to our room at night and re-live the day.

It was a balmy 9 degrees at the bus stop this morning. Anyone want to guess where DS and I wished we were???

It's in the 30's here too but soon the warming will start. I'm running around in long johns!!

14 degrees this morning when I took the kids to school.

The kids and I were talking about how we can't wait to the hot, hot July Florida sun and sitting by SAB. Dh loves to stay for the cupid shuffle , the girls usually join along- he even recorded it! I can't wait to be sitting by SAB with a sunken treasure in my hand, after a fantastic Hurricane Hannah's cheeseburger!!!

Six more months. . . .

I never looked at the temp this morning before I left the house, but since Susan and I live in the same area, I'm going with her number.

But booking my trip yesterday warmed me up a bit. LOL

I bought one journal they have that is smaller and spiral bound. I don't see it on their site now. But it is not geared towards the kids as much. So I will use that one. We bought the Guide to the Magic last year too. I sent an email to make sure it has been updated and it just was. The new one talks about Star Tours and the Fantasyland expansion. I agree it is big! I was going to make one for him but he decided he really likes the journal pages of this one.

Not sure if this link will work or not but I found the one for me on Amazon to show you. Since your son is older he might like this one better. It is about 5x7 in size. Maybe email him from the Guide to the Magic site and see if he has anymore. I just got mine a couple of weeks ago. It was less money than the other version.

Chuck was telling me that you have cold weather now. Praying it is warmer by next month!! It will be in the 50's here today.

BRRRR!!!!

I have one of those rare days where there is nothing on my calendar, so I am not leaving the house today!

I'm going to spend the day cooking, and catching up on my correspondence and continuing on the cleaning out the basement and organizing my clutter projects that I started during Christmas break.

And check in here every so often. Keep warm thoughts, everyone!

Thanks for the link. It works. I actually have this one too. I am one of world's biggest cheapskates. The boys each wanted there own Guides when we went on our trip in 2008. When we went the next year, I told them since these were both one week trips, the first year they could use days 1-7 and the next year they could use days 8-14. They didn't like that idea.

I did relent and get the journal for my older son as a compromise.
