Dee, if you are in charge of creating flat versions of us again, I'm in! :)

P.S. My parents, brother, SIL and 2-year-old niece are in Epcot right now! It's my niece's very first day in a Disney park and I just received a photo of her outside Nemo. Yay! :)

Be afraid. Be very afraid!!!

Yes, I will totally do the flat avatars again (I have a few ideas up my sleeve...). This time I will be prepared and not think of an idea at the last minute. Pixarmom arrived on time, but Little Mermaid Dee was a day late. :sad2:

I was fortunate to meet Teena while staying at the Beach Club last June
but being a Saturday when checking in it was very busy so not much time to talk . I will be going back at the end of June beginning of July . This is my favorite time of year. Hope we can talk more this year . I beleive I have found my new home away from home .

Glad you are planning on returning to the Beach Club this summer! Would you like to be added to the page 1 Be Our Guest list? Hope you will have more of a chance to chat with Teena this year!

Natebenma ,thanks that would be great . Yes I plan on seeing Teena this trip
I wanted to show her pictures of my grand daughter Ava the last time but she
was so busy . Her first birthday is Jan. 10 , I plan to take them all to the MK next year . I can not wait to see her face. Thanks Again !

Hi there, I saw that the waterslide requires children to be able to swim on their own in 4 feet of water. My 5 year old son can swim independently on his own, but only for a short distance. Does anyone know if the ladder is close by? I want him to be safe, and it makes me nervous because I read that parents cannot be in the pool at the bottom. He's taking lessons again in the spring before our trip so maybe I won't even have to worry but I was just curious. I know he's going to want to go down it if he sees all the other kids going down :) Thanks!

I think your son will be fine swimming away from the big slide at the end of of his ride. My husband, who is the biggest spaz in the water EVER, managed to do it! I'm sure your little guy will do fine. I've seen lots of little ones, and by that I mean relative 'guppies' popping up after rocketing off the slide and swimming 5 to 10 feet to the ladder by mom or Dad. The lifeguards are primarily concerned with people moving out of the landing zone ASAP and not so much about people off to the side guiding their kids away from the landing zone.

Usually the kids catch on right away and they become real naturals at moving out of the way. Your little fishy will let you know if he's ready or not so don't despair and just take his lead. I find it really helps when you take the child to the landing zone and tell him "look at the people coming out and look at where they go to get out of the way". Kids pick this up super quick and before ya know it they are on their 15th million trip down.

The slide questions have "forced" me to delurk and share a story! During our first trip to WDW, our 3 year old son was determined to go down the "big" slide at the GF. My DH waited for him at the bottom, arms out to catch him. Little did he know that our son had chickened out, so DH gallantly caught a 200 lb man. :rotfl:

:lmao:
Well I know it wasn't my husband because he weighs more than 200 pounds but if you ask me it's an "interesting" way to meet new people. ;)

Hey Gang,
Just wanted to let everyone know we made it. At the Clarion off Sherboth Rd. (Near the AK and the Target Teena recommends). Drive down was good. Left at 4pm and arrived at 11. I-95 is much better through Georgia and Florida now that it is 6 lanes all the way.

After DW gets up we're gonna grab some off World breakfast and head over to WL and get our MK days out of the way. Going to Citricos tonight and Artist Point tomorrow for our 'big meals'. Then going to POR to see Yehaa Bob Thursday night with my sisters and family. Have heard a lot about him but have never experienced his show.

Going to try and do an early checkin Friday at BCV and get the weekend started there. Will keep everyone updated. Till then.......:cool2:

Thanks for the update! I'm so jealous!!

So jealous Mike. Wish I was there instead of in my office, but we'll be booking very soon, possibly even as early as today. Just waiting to here back from my AAA TA. I emailed her last week to let her know I wanted to book in January, so I hope to hear from her today.

I think we have 6 signature meals planned for the trip. Artist Point and Citricos are on the list, along with Flying Fish (thinking this might be our first night meal), CRT for breakfast, California Grill and Jiko.

HI , I have a question about the large slide at Stormalong Bay. Is it enclosed? It looks like it is from the pics I have seen, but wanted to ask and be sure. DD is not a fan of enclosed slides. TIA!

Hi jlcd! Just responded on your other thread. Yes, the big side at BC is enclosed part of the way. I'm a bit claustrophobic, so I actually prefer the open slide at BWI. As for the rest of the pool, we all prefer SAB at BC.

Thanks for the update and have a great time! My 2-year-old niece is at MK today for the first time, so if you see a super cute little girl in MK this afternoon with two parents and two grandparents, be sure to wave. :)

Can't wait to hear your reviews of Citricos and Artist Point - those are the last two on my list of signatures to try. I always enjoy your quick dining reviews!

Yes - I'll definitely be looking out for any pin codes or summer discounts!
Big disappointment with the Disney "Leap Day" announcement!

I'd love to see some photos of the Dolphin.

I don't think you can go wrong with either BC or YC - we loved them both!
Who knows - maybe you'll get a pin code!

Hi Robyn! I think I'll set up a short Dolphin photo thread soon! I was so impressed by the selection at Picabu that I took a few BC Marketplace-style photos over there.

I know, disappointed about the Leap Day announcement here, too. And we'll be in DL March 2 at the end of our San Francisco to Newport journey, so I hope those Leap Day crowds thin out fast!

So good news here! This morning, a YC GV room became available with the spring discount! I'm still hoping for better - PIN, AP discount, etc. But I decided to take it now and apply a new discount if something becomes available. So Dee, could you please put us on the YC guest list for April 13-14 (after POFQ April 11-13!) So excited to try YC!

I think a meet would be cool for Mid May

Hmm..my BC claim to fame...saw Justin Bieber in the BC lobby (confirmed by Teena):)

All I can say is I am sure glad we booked the 2 bounceback rates because the Big Disney Announcement was a big letdown for sure.

Random Question: If you plan to eat lunch at Hurricaine Hannahs, what time do you regularly order? I want to avoid the crowds and want to sit there and last time it took them like almost 25 min. to get dh a burger and my cold sand. So I am thinking no later than 11:40 am?

I think you will LOVE YC!!! Great news about the gv room. My in-laws had a fabulous gv room at YC, first floor near the wedding gazebo. They had a nice sideway view of Crescent Lake!

luvmarypoppins - my 2 dds went crazy when I told them Justin Bieber was in the BC lobby!!!!

Just got of the phone with my AAA TA. We are booked for YC GV, Oct. 27-Nov. 3rd.

Now I'm going to hope that a nice pin code, free dining or some other offer comes out, but if not, we are prepared to pay the full amount...which is actually a little cheaper than my original quite anyway and I'm still saving off rack because of AAA.

Please add us as confirmed BC'ers again for our trip:

6/9 - 6/16 DW, DD (8), DS (8) and me

Friends tagging along as well - DW, DH, DS (8)
