Thanks for the link to sign up for the "special announcement" on New Years Eve. However, IMHO, I think the "surprise" of the parks being open round the clock - 24 hours - is pretty lame. Not even worth staying up for! Who on earth could stay up for 24 hours??? Not me. I could not even roust my bod out of bed to go to the parks at 2 am! Even as much as I love Disney, still need to catch some zzzzz's ya know? I'm hoping it's something much bigger!

Totally agree with you and thank goodness 2/29 is not a Sunday or Monday ... at least I won't be working!!!

I've just about convinced myself that "The Year of More Magic" is a revamp of the buy 4 get 5 promo from a few years again.

As in 'hey there's an extra day this year so everyone gets an extra day'.

That would be good, but what if you're already booked, like tons of people are for 2012 - self included. Would that mean you get a one day rebate? Or if you have not made the final payment, would 1 day come off your total price at that time? Just wondering how they would work that.

Maybe it's just an extra day at the park for free and not a room. Who knows? But they sure are making a big deal about it. Hope it is something good for you all!!!

I don't know if they would do anything like that, though it seems to me a good use of the term and a typical Disney offer.... but I do know with other offers (room discounts, etc.) I was able to call and see if they would change my reservation to the new rate. They have so far each time that's happened.

As MM said, however, this is all speculation.... I for one think they WILL do a 24 hour opening on the 29th for "show" (probably just MK and rides similar to EMH)...randomly give people "one more day" on their tickets (perhaps with a stay in Cinderella's Castle Suite? A girl can dream....) and special offers on buy x get 1 free.

I'm going to hope whatever it is it's something we can all take advantage of... that would make it a very successful promotion!

Just like with any package deal you have to call in and 'rebook' your stay under the new promotion and they will adjust your price either way.

But again as others have said I'm just guessing here, I have no idea what will actually happen.

Well, I tried calling the WDW merchandise phone no. No go on ordering the YC shirt. She said those had been "discontinued". Told her this was brand new & she said she doesn't have any info about it yet. Did not offer to transfer me to the YC store.

Don't have time to call the YC now & not sure I want the shirt bad enough to have a hassle trying to get it. But if I do call & get to order it, I'll post here.

That is such a shame that the CM gave you outdated info.

If you do try again, perhaps just ask to be connected to the gift shop at the YC. Or as you are contemplating, call Y&Bc directly.

Joining the fun of this thread! What a wonderful group you have here, sounds like you all have a lot of fun together. After a terrible year health wise for our family, I am very much looking forward to a little time alone with DH Jan. 26-30th at BC. I stayed here in July with my DD's after a DCL trip to the Bahamas with them, but once checked in found my mom had a fall and was in ICU in hospital at home. I tried my best to enjoy our day for my DD's sake, but am looking forward to returning and creating some happy memories there. Hope that the weather will cooperate so that we can enjoy SAB!

That is biggest fear for our upcoming trip. My Dad keeps falling and so far has not been hurt. Not sure how long his luck will hold. They go to assisted living but are fighting it tooth and nail. No one lives closer than 4 hours from them which makes it hard.

Pixarmom -- POFQ is my favorite moderate (never stayed at POR, but have visited). I think you'll enjoy your stay there.

Re: the new promotion . . . when I was making my BC reservation this past weekend for June, I happened to get a very chatty CM and I decided to ask him if he knew anything about this. He said he didn't know what it was, but they were told that they were going to get very busy after the announcement is made and the only time they're told something like that is when it's for a big promo (like free dining -- not that he thought this had anything to do with free dining). While I'm really interested to hear what the big mystery is, I can't imagine that whatever it is, will save me more than the 30% room only discount (since I'm using it for a deluxe resort). Oh, and he did mention that some things re: the Fantasyland expansion will be announced (that hadn't been previously announced). He did seem to know what he was talking about, but like with anything, who the heck knows?

If one of the powers-that-be could add me to the first page, we'll be staying at the BC 6/7 - 6/13. Thanks!

We were in the lobby, it was so quiet and I joked to dh and said, look at that kid over there, he looks like Justin Bieber.

Someone else told me they thought he was staying at the Yacht Club at that time.

Would he have happened to have been there, or were my eyes deceiving me?

Should say I was tired and getting pretty cancer cranky at the time. But it would have been fun to know if it was really him.

He appeared really short to me and had on a black leather jacket and was with a girl with long black hair.

After we looked at them they seemed to get out of the lobby pretty quickly too.

luvmarypoppins, given that that was close to the time he was performing for the parade, it is likely it was him. Teena may be able to verify, but it seems like it may have been.

Also add us to the list for May 2011. We booked the bounceback when we were there, yes, even with the crazy plumbing problems I mentioned in my previous post.

We are going May 17-23 at the Beach Club, water view room.

If the new surprise announcement might affect things then we shall see. But right now the 30% off on the room is good for us.

This has been an active thread over the past couple of days!

I know there are a few people who have given their info for upcoming trips, so I'll go through the last few pages tomorrow morning and make the updates to the guest list.

I'll have to sign up for the announcement, too. I don't expect to be ringing in the New Year after 10 PM!
