Hi CJK!

I know that you already received some answers, but I wanted to add that we did exactly this last July at BC!

BC helped us with on-line check-in for Southwest. We just called down to the front desk the day before our flight (a little over 24 hours before.) The front desk said they could check us in and print our boarding passes, and told us to stop by at any time to pick up the boarding passes. When we stopped by the front desk on the morning of our departure, they had everything ready to go for our evening flight. We didn't need to go to the airline check-in desk at the front AND they secured boarding zone A for all of us. I was really happy about that because it was our first experience with Southwest and I was concerned about the ability to check-in 24 hours in advance without easy access to a computer and printer - but the BC front desk took care of everything! Not sure if this is standard procedure at BC, but it was great.

It was a little different at the Poly earlier this month, so I don't know if the process varies by resort or airline. At Poly, I asked whether we could do this over the phone and pick up boarding passes at the front desk like we did at BC for Southwest, but the process was different at Poly for Airtran. To check in, we needed to go down to the airline check-in desk in the front of the resort on the morning of our flight.

Hope that helps! :wizard:

Fabulous! Thanks so much!

I am sure this has been asked before but, what are the counter service options for YC vs. Beach club. Also, DS's love DisneyQuest and DTD is a late evening for us. Is it better to take a bus directly from YC/BC or to walk to Epcot or DHS and bus from there? How are the buses? Who do we share with for DTD. Are water parks overkill with SAB? Thanks for any help. We are really trying to make a decision soon.

I am hoping that the "experts" (maybe Teena) are logged on.
I am planning on treating my adult kids to a trip to WDW this June.
I know as a passholder and Florida resident we can no longer book additional rooms.
My "twist" is that this is a surprise for them so I am wondering how I can do this without them receiving confirmation under their names?
I thought about booking 1 room in my name and one in my husband's..but wouldn't that be wrong? He would still have to stay on that reservation to keep it when adding the kids later on correct?
Anyway to do this within the rules?

Thanks to all!
Robin

Welcome! I hope you love BC as much as we do! I think it's pretty tough to read through the whole thread at once, so feel free to go ahead and ask questions if you have any! :wizard:

We opted for the regular meal plan (1 table, 1QS, and 1 snack) and I'm wondering if there is a place close by to get bread and maybe pb and J for our room...snacks, water, that sort of stuff.

Thanks to everyone for all the great info! We have decided on the beach club thanks to all the wonderful posts of this resort. We are going with another family and no one has been to Disney before. We are so excited! My family of 5 (with 3 children) have reserved at 1 bdrm at the beach club villas. Our question is the other family 2 adults, 2 kids..4 and 1 are not sure if it would be better to stay in the beach club resort or a studio at the beach club villas. We have read all the info posted about the resort , but we would like to know the difference in the size of room of those who have stayed or any pros or cons that will help them decide. Thanks in advance for any help.

With the new reservation system, you definitely do NOT want to put your husband on one reservation and you on the other and then change things around later. And everybody that is going to be in the rooms need to be on the reservation BEFORE you check in. The new reservation system makes it almost impossible to add a guest to a reservation after they check-in. We can do it but the room key is encoded differently and trust me, you want ALL the correct people on the reservation, in the right rooms, when you make the reservation - not after you check-in!!!!!! Do you want two rooms total? I would just put the second room under the correct names but put your address on it so the confirmation will come to your address. List your email address on both reservations too. That should keep all the paperwork on the reservations coming to you.

Regular room at the BC versus studio at the BCV = no contest IMO - BC wins.

One bedroom villa at the BCV versus regular room at the BC = no contest IMO - BCV wins.

It's all personal choice.

Two options that I can think of - others may have more:

1) BC Marketplace has lots of these types of items. On our arrival day, after we return from Epcot in the evening, we stop by the BC Marketplace to buy breakfast foods (cereal, bread, bagels, fruit, milk, juice, donuts, etc.), snacks for the room and refillable mugs (free coffee, soda, lemonade, water, etc. refills) for my husband and me. They have lots of grocery-type items and the BC rooms have a fridge to keep everything cold. I know the price is higher at BC Marketplace, but the convenience is important to us. We usually have at least 2 TS ADRs per day, so we only need a few things.

2) Garden Grocer. We've not used them before, but they deliver grocery items to your room. I know others on this thread have lots of personal experience with them, so someone could provide more information!

Our next BC stay is at the beginning of February, and I plan to take photos and make a rough list of the items available at BC Marketplace - I'm happy to report back!

14 days and I'll be there......I'm practically giddy.....

Okay if you knew me that statement would be a lot funnier then it looks:lmao:

Can you do a small favor for me while you're at BC Marketplace? Can you list or photo the candy/snack items? Last year I had BC IPO make up a small "sand bucket basket" from BC Marketplace for the kids. I just went by memory. I'd like to do that again this year and would love to have some things to pick from instead of just trying to remember! TIA!!!

The BC rooms have two full beds. BCV studio has a bed and sleeper sofa. It's a nice sleeper sofa but sofa all the same. The Studio rooms are 356 square feet. Most standard rooms at the BC are 380 square feet and closer to the pool and other amenities.

And to all the new peeps. :welcome: !

The kitchenette was making the studio look better, but if the BC room is bigger that would probably be better for them with the little ones. Thank you so much for the info!

Did you check the first few pages of the thread? I added the following information yesterday There is also a lot of restaurant info and some links about dining at the Yacht & Beach club in the first few posts.

The info below is from a sticky on the DIS restaurant forum. Thanks, TDC Nala!!!

Here are the Epcot Resort Area Counter Service Options (BW/YC/BC)

ON DDP:
Breakfast: Beach Club Marketplace, Boardwalk Bakery, continental breakfast at Ale & Compass lounge (YC) and Belle View Lounge (BW)

Other meals:
Beach Club Marketplace, Boardwalk Bakery, Hurricane Hannas (BC/YC pool, open during pool hours, wristband admission to Stormalong Bay pool area is NOT required)

Snacks: above plus Seashore Sweets (BW) and the stores at each resort

I do not know if you can use snack credits for any food items that may be available at the Leaping Horse Libations pool bar at BW, someone else may be able to post that.

NOT ON DDP:
Picabu cafeteria (Dolphin), Boardwalk kiosks (Boardwalk Joe's, Boardwalk To Go, Funnel Cakes, Boardwalk Pizza Window)

If you have park admission, you can also visit CS restaurants inside Epcot or Hollywood Studios. Most of these are on DDP except for a couple of kiosks at Epcot.

Thanks so much for offering to take pictures at the Marketplace! Here is a link to the ones I have from July. Shows some of the food items offered.

I'll post this link on to the front page and when you have your photos, I can add a link to those, too (I am limited in the actual number of photos I can have in a post)

As I said, it's just a personal choice. The room decor at the BC and the two queen beds I like much more than the studio at the BCV with one bed and a sofa bed. I don't know the actual size difference but to me it feels much bigger at the BC.

I also want to add a :welcome: to all of the newcomers to this board!

Thank you for the welcome. We are super excited and personally I'm very nervous.

Do all rooms come with the couch? I think we need the couch for our youngest.

What about a place to get water and snacks, pbj, etc.?

If you booked a room at the BC or YC, no, all rooms do not come with a daybed/couch unless you are a party of five.

Marketplace is your one stop shopping for water, snacks, etc.
