First, thanks to all of you who responded. I still don't know what I'm going to do. I called the travel agent my company works for and he told me if it was him, he'd stick with the AirTran flight. He said SW is a good airline and he does a lot of business with him, but he couldn't disagree with me when I told him a co-worker told me their planes were nothing more than "cattle cars", i.e. little leg room, very tight seats. Maybe some of you who have flown with them can comment to that. Anyway, the other thing he told me is that it's entirely possible our flight will get put back to the original time before it's said and done. We have flown with AirTran before and have had NO problems. But I know you all know how I feel. We plan these vacations and we want to make the most of every minute we're at Disney and then the stupid airline comes along and wants to take some of those minutes away from us.

I would go with SW. I have flown with them over and over again - to FL, AZ, CA, etc. I have heard much more negative than positive with AirTran and the opposite with SW. Overall, SW seems to be way ahead of AirTran when it comes to customer service. Good luck with your decision.

Well we just couldn't do the split stay!

We switched dates around and we booked BC GV CL from July 15-30. My in-laws are planning on joining us July 15-22. This will be their first CL stay!
Then we'll hit Hilton Head July 30-August 4.

Katesdad and everyone else who is close to their trip - HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME!!!!!!

I saw your questions over on the Poly thread, and then I saw your signature has just BC for July 2011, and I was wondering about that!

I have to admit that we're staying at the Poly for our pre-schooler's short birthday trip in January. We have APs and three BC stays in one year already. So we wanted to mix it up a little and stay near MK and on the monorail for him. But BC is always our favorite, so we'll return for a week in February! :wizard:

I was looking forward to comparing notes with you! It's been a while since I've stayed at the Poly, and I'm very nostalgic about my childhood trips there, but the comments on the Poly thread are quite discouraging. Is that why you switched?

We last stayed at the Poly in 2008 and were very happy.

We never had the negative experiences some have posted and I take it all with a grain of salt. That wasn't the reason we switched.

When we realized we could save at least $800 by switching from regular to value season that was a big factor. DH hates switching resorts and the only reason he agreed to was to watch the 4th of July fireworks from the Poly. Then my in-laws decided to come and they love YC/BC so it just seemed easier to stay at BC the whole time.

Even though we always have a soft spot for the Poly it is so nice to unpack and be settled in for the whole stay.

We never had a bad stay at the Polynesian. Hope you have a wonderful time!

Katesdad - Thanks for asking about the shuttle launch, I have been wondering about that as well. We're at YC too, so I think we'll head out to the lake with my camera and see if I can get any good shots. Maybe we'll see you out there at that way-too-early of an hour. :)

I'm hoping it will go off while we are still there. We'll know more on Wednesday.

Kennedy's “Call-to-Stations” to begin the launch countdown will be no earlier than Nov. 30, supporting a first launch attempt no earlier than Dec. 3 at about 2:52 a.m. EST.

Hi Katesdad - Wishing you and all the other soon-to-be vacationing DISers a wonderful vacation!! I hope to get to WDW around the holidays someday...it seems like a beautiful time of year there!

Has anyone seen or heard of any bed bug reports for the Beach or Yacht? I hope these places remain a safe haven.

Just did online check in and am getting excited. This trip has kind of snuck up on me. I made ADR so long ago and have been busy with other things, it seemed like this trip was years away. Now that it is about a week, I am finally getting excited. Also, because it is our first time at BC. Now I can't wait! Thanks to everyone here for such great advice!:thumbsup2

We are in the final stretch. Taking off tomorrow for Thanksgiving a few hours south of here, then return home Thursday evening to pack and get ready for our trip. Our flight is at 7:20 Saturday morning, thanks to our flights getting changing on us (which means a car is picking us up at 4:30AM) - but at least we'll finally be there. I can't wait!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Question about Villa balcony doors.....how do they lock? I'm noticing there is a balcony off the 2nd bedroom and that's where the kids will be sleeping.

Well, TheAnswer, there really is no answer to your question. There are several threads on this topic on these Boards, many news reports from all over the country, and whole TV shows devoted to this subject. Hotels, hospitals, libraries, schools, clothing stores, grocery stores, college dormatories, you name it and they've been spotted there. There is no guarantee. There may be no reports (and I've not seen or heard any for YC/BC) but that doesn't mean the person staying in the room before you, or the person staying in the room next door didn't bring them along for a vacation. They are pests that won't go away easily since someone decided DDT is bad not only for these bugs but for the humnan population in general. All you can do is check your room when you arrive and hope for the best but be ready for the worst.

For those leaving today, tomorrow, this weekend or next week, have a safe trip. If you see a fat old guy with a YC/BC DISer pin on his hat, come up and say hi. I'll be looking for you. For everyone else, have a great TURKEY day.

I feel the same way. We leave in 10 days and I've been planning for a year,
I can't believe it's finally here! This is our first time at BC and our first Disney
trip as a family. I hope you have a great trip and we all have great weather!

Thanks for keeping all of us December people organized. I hope you have a great trip and get to see your shuttle launch. I'll have my pin as well, I hope to say get to say hello to everyone going the first week in Dec.!

Safe travels and have fun to the first wave of December Dis'ers headed to the World!!! Can't wait to get there myself and can't believe it's only 8 days away!

Our family of 4, two adults and two kids ages 11 and 8, will be staying at Beach Club Villas March 19th thru the 27th in a one bedroom villa. We are renting points from a DVC friend. Can anyone recommend a good one bedroom villa? I would like to have some view of Epcot at nite.

I hope everyone heading to WDW soon has a safe and wonderful trip!

I've had some health issues and we're playing it by ear right now. *fingers crossed* Hopefully, we won't have to put that travel insurance to use and we'll be flying out Sunday morning.

For everyone there next week, if you see a blonde chick with a long white cane, say hi!

I believe only the top two floors (4th and 5th) have decent views of Epcot at night.

Thanks so much!! I appreciate hearing the positive Poly report, especially from a fellow BC fan! :wizard:
