So for Epcot...walking from these resorts to the back entrance...is it helpful in the morning before WS opens?

Meaning, before 11 am do you have (can you even?) walk all the way around to the main entrance?

We love using the International Gateway entrance in the morning at rope drop! The IG entrance opens at the same time as Future World, so Epcot area resort guests can walk through the United Kingdom and Canada to get to Future World. (Some posters have reported that they have been able to get through the IG entrance a few minutes before rope drop, allowing them time to pass through World Showcase.) We really enjoy the IG entrance, and the quiet walk through World Showcase in the morning!

Have a great trip!

I finally made it through the whole thread and feel like I can start posting now!
I was just down at Disney 9/26 - 10/3 with my gigantic extended family (staying at POFQ). We had a wonderful trip, but wow is it stressful trying to plan for 2 young kids, 2 85+ year olds in scooters, 2 smokers, 2 people that have never been there before, etc...and then, right when I thought I had everything figured out, Disney announced the Wine and Dine Half marathon (for the LAST NIGHT of my trip! :scared:) so of course I had to do that (as a relay with DH) and it threw a kink in all the plans anyways!

My dad saw my medal the morning after the race, and of course he got medal envy, and decided (after YEARS of me trying to convince my parents to come down for a disney race, even if only to cheer) that he wanted to run the half with me in January so he could get his own Donald. DH said he was done with racing and needed a break from Disney for a while  so he's staying home - but I was able to convince my parents that if the three of us split the cost of a room, on top of the 40% off deal, it really wasn't THAT expensive to stay at the Beach Club, right? :dance3:

So after years of thinking about it, I'm doing my first "full" half marathon (with my dad!) and my parents are staying at their first deluxe hotel. I've stayed at the BC a couple times in the past and I love love love it!

That's awesome! I did my first Disney race in June the Expedition Everest Challenge and dragged a few friends along for their first 5K. Someday I'll get DH too. Good luck with your training. I'm a big fan of run/walking. I just did my first 10K.

You can get some awesome photos that way. We've got a few photos of us, with nobody else around.

I noticed it is within walking distance to Boardwalk....anyone know how far walking distance really is?:rolleyes1

I know it it relatively close because I have seen it from the bus... I think it is right across the street from the Swan/ Dolphin...

I looked it up on Google Earth. The walk to DHS from the Boardwalk is about 20 minutes for dh and I, so the mini golf looks to be about 15 minutes walk I would say. You could always take the boat, get off the Swan/Dolphin and then it would be a shorter walk.

DHS is further south, Fantasia mini golf is further west - not sure exactly where the entrance is. But I can see the different holes.

I've read that there is no refillable mug station at Yacht Club. I assume we can buy one at BC and refill it there no matter where we stay. Is that correct?[/I]

Can't believe we will be at the BCV in 52 days. I am so excited. I just looked at a map of the BC and I only see one parking lot by the convention center. Since I have problems walking, I am concerned about the distance. How far is the BCV from the parking lot and is there a road that I could be dropped off closer to the BCV?

On the map I saw, it looked like the bus stops are pretty far away from the BCV. I know that maps can be deceiving. Actually how far are the bus stops.

Now that's it almost 50 days I am fine tuning our planning, changing ADR's and trying to contain my excitement. (athough I am not sucessful). After panning since last December it's finally closer. :yay:

There is a parking lot for the Villas right by the Villas. The bus stop is out the front door of the Beach Club lobby, follow the walkway to the left, over the covered bridge.

Teena, thank you so much. This is our first visit to BCV and as you can tell, I am extrememly excited. Hope you will be working when we visit. I would like to meet you and thank you personally for all of your advice. See you in 52 days!:dance3:

I thought you could get your mugs refilled at the lounge in the loby of the YC.

I am curious about this too - thanks for asking! popcorn::
I think the one by BB is winter-summer land, or something like that.

Can anyone give me more information about the chocolate covered strawberries I keep seeing mentioned? I want to surprise my parents one night with a romantic night at the room - I have no problems finding other things to do at the Beach Club and Boardwalk for a while! - but that sounds like a nice added touch. Can you get them to deliver them to the room when you aren't there, or does someone need to be present? How much did they cost? Could you also get a bottle of something included? Who did you talk to to get this set up?

I don't know the price of the strawberries but they are delicious. You can order them from private dining. They will deliver when you're not in the room but I've read that they will not deliver alcohol unless an adult is present. Not sure if that is accurate. In your case since there are only adults in the room, maybe it could be done??? Just call BC and ask to be connected to private dining a day or so before your arrival or dial dining from your room.

You can refill them at Hurricane Hannah's and BC Marketplace on your own. At Beaches and Cream takeout door as well as Ale and Compass Lounge, a CM will refill them for you. You can purchase them at all four locations. Ale and Compass is off the lobby of the YC. Open from 6-noon for continental style breakfast and 4-mindnight as a lounge.

As Teena said, there is a section of the parking lot right by BCV. Very convenient.

If you look at the map that Dee has in post 2 of this FAQ, you'll see a little wing logo (for Magical Express) in front of the lobby doors. The bus stop is near the left hand side of the wings. You can cross over to the bus stop from BCV by the right hand side of the wings. It's actually a very short walk...even shorter than it appears on that map. You can walk that short hallway which goes by the lowest room numbers or if your villa is near the BCV parking lot, take a short cut across the pool deck and follow the sidewalk near the fence.

The higher your room number, the closer your villa will be to the parking lot. On the other hand, the lower numbers are closer to the bus stop and BC lobby and restaurants. If someone else can drop you off, there is a side door very close to the circle near the lobby. Have fun at BCV. :cool1::cool1:

Speaking of the BCV pool, someone asked a while ago about hours. I checked again this trip and Dunes Cove pool is officially open from 7am-midnight. The hours are listed on a board near the bathhouse. It's on a removable board but I don't recall the board ever changing.
