There is no difference. The rack rate for the waterview at the BC is the same as the rack rate for the waterview at the YC. If you go to the Walt Disney World website, look up accommodations and then click on the BC waterview room rates ... it shows $420. Then do the same for the YC room rates - it shows $420 --- they are identical. However, just like on an airline, there are discounts. The same waterview rooms at either the YC or the BC --- so many are put aside for the various discounts (annual passholder discount, AAA discount, bounceback discounts, etc.) Therefore, the same waterview room at the BC and YC could cost different people different amounts, depending on their discount or whether they are paying rack rate, etc. And room only rates are calculated differently than package rates. So many rooms are set aside for this package and that package. It's very similar to an airline. The same seat on Southwest from Orlando to Vegas could cost me $220 roundtrip versus a friend of mine that booked the exact same flights two weeks later ... she could be paying $340 ... it's the same seat. Sorry ... it's very hard to explain.

Thanks for the explanation. I put in 7 nights at both and looked at the bottom line.

I agree!!!!:flower3:

You guys aren't making my decision process any easier!

Well I did it, and I now have a reservation at the BCV's for 8/11/11-8/19/11 for my son's birthday. We have never stayed at the BC and we are very excited to stay at a new Disney property. I have also decided to take my mom with me so she can spend some time with her grandson. Now the long wait beings.

The water is definitely better on the light side!!!

When I check in this week at the YC, I'm going to be subversive - I'm going to lean over and look at some of the BC water from my YC balcony.

I dare them to ding my room portfolio with a "BC Water surcharge".

Teena, are you working your usual days in the coming week?

You will love BC - and August is a great time to enjoy SAB!

Just got home from work ... soaking my feet in five minutes!

I'll be back to work on the 19th and 20th and again on the 26th and 27th. I'm back in Vegas on the 3rd and 4th though. (Retirement is such fun.)

I have read just the last few pages - I apologize - getting back into the swing of all thing BC/YC because we finally committed to a December trip and ... THE CL LOUNGE IS OPEN 24 HOURS NOW?! :cool1: So, the coffee machine is available after normal hours, it looks like from posts. Any other beverages, like hot tea, water or sodas? I love a cup of hot tea before bed. Thanks!

This is our first time staying at the BC. I was just wondering if they let you walk through epcot to get the monorail to MK before the parks open or are the buses the only option in the morning? I'm not talking 7am or anything, just wondering if it's an option say around 8:30.....

Welcome to BC!!! I hope you love it as much as we all do! The only way I think that could work is if EPCOT had morning EMH and opened at 8am. Then you could enter through international gateway, make your way to the front entrance, take the monorail to the TTC and then transfer to MK. Can anyone think of exceptions? Maybe something involving a Norway breakfast, and then hopping on the monorail? (Just boys in our family, so no princess breakfasts! :( )

We always take the bus to MK in the morning, but that's because we want to arrive by rope drop. So we are at the bus stop at 8am for a 9am opening, just to be safe!

We do love taking the monorail and walking through EPCOT on our way home to BC (if EPCOT is still open.) It's so relaxing to end the day with a walk around World Showcase - or just to enjoy the evening ride on the monorail through EPCOT and head straight back to BC. In the past, we've had ADRs for dinner at MK, and we've walked through EPCOT in the late afternoon - grabbed a snack and/or done a Kim Possible mission - and then boarded the monorail for MK. So we've found lots of fun ways to enjoy the monorail!

WHAT, WHAT, WHAT? Are you serious?
With 75 days to go, you may have just made my night! I also enjoy something warm to relax before going to bed.

Teena - we arrive the 21st and check out the 26th so we'll plan to swing through the lobby sometime before we head to the airport! Looking forward to meeting you - even if only briefly :goodvibes

Keep in mind the CL lounge is presently open 24/7. IT IS ON A TRIAL BASIS ONLY. I have no idea how long this trial will go on.

You would have to have park hoppers to do this AND it is quicker to take the bus!

Keeping my fingers crossed that a) the trial lasts until December and b) hot tea is available. :) Thanks for the info, Teena.
