Can't wait!!! Only 2 more weeks until I'm back "home" at the Beach Club for 2 whole weeks!!! My mom is coming with me and my girls from Sept 4-10, for her first visit to the Beach Club, and then DH is joining me and the girls from Sept 11-18!!! Teena--hope you'll be there sometime while we're there...I'd love to meet you in person! We missed you last year! We're so excited about coming!!!

Finally booked my stay for December 5th-10th. BC water view. I had orginally wanted GF, but there seemed to be no rooms available at the AP rates, so I chose BC from what I am reading on this thread it was a very good decision!

Here's a group photo from our DIS Meet.

From what I remember of the Meet list, 6 of 11 of us were able to make it (not bad considering everyone's schedules!): Siouxi31, Teena (holding 'flat' natebenma!), YCFAN, DisneyMomx7, kirbygump, LovintheLodge, and Disney1976. Thanks for setting this up jjohnson (Teena received your message that you couldn't make it). It was a fun time and the beginning of some lasting friendships!

Thanks for posting the picture! The DIS meet was so much fun. It was nice to finally have a face to put with the screen name. Now - you just have to change that screen name - hmmm how about LovingtheBC?

Reply to the message if you are pretty sure you would attend if a meet was set up. Please don't respond if you are unable to make it on either of those days. Obviously, even if you are not on the list, you can reply if you would attend.

Deadline to respond: Thursday August 19

If there is enough interest (say 4 responses plus Teena) on either of those days, lets set something up.

I don't think it is looking too good for a formal meet on Sunday. We did have 3 people respond that they would probably attend, but with the likelihood one or more of these folks might end up having to change their plans, I would hate to have the others stop what they are doing for the meet.

Teena is working until 6, so I suppose there is nothing to stop you from coming down to the lobby and saying hello to her. If those of you who might want to meet other DISers came by, say at 5:30, I'm sure Teena could introduce you.

You may see me in the airport on September 4th ... I'm flying back to Orlando from Jeanne's then. I'll be at work on the 5th and 6th (I assume) and I assume every Sunday and Monday after that until I'm off again to go back and help Jeanne some more towards the end of September. I'm training the new full-time greeter this Saturday, Sunday and Monday. After that, I'll be working the two days he's off - remember, this is my retirement job and although I really really love it, two days a week is what I really want to work. Not totally sure yet what those two days are going to be but I think probably Sunday and Monday. As soon as I know for sure, I'll post, but I won't find out probably until I get back from Jeanne's. Anyway, I'm about 99% sure I'll be there on the 5th, so see you then! My hours are 9:30 AM to 5:45 PM.

I think you all need some kind of identification. Nothing big and flashy. A small button or pin maybe that says "Y&B Disser" on it that you can all wear. Then when you pass in the lounge or lobby or at the parks, you'll know to say something. Especially now with so many of you being there. I know you are passing each other but there is no way of telling who you are. Our Y&B group is very special and it's a shame you can't tell who each other is.

The last meet was so fantastic ... everybody meeting each other and the kids (or young adults) all got along so well. I know some lasting friendships definitely formed. Afterall, we all have so much in common!

Any ideas?

I actually have a lime green DIS button that I couldn't find before our last trip. In the past, I pinned it on my back pack so others would see I was from The Dis. I wonder if they still sell them--mine is yyyeeears old.

This would have been a great idea. There was a family at BC from Chicago who I wanted to meet but wouldn't have been able to recognize them without some "DIS" ID help.

We'll be there 9/4-9/11. I'm making many packing/buying/to do lists, can't wait to get there--our first time as DISers!

I feel like a traitor!

We're getting ready to make our February reservations and just realized that most of our trip is in "peak" season. Almost $500 a night for a gv non cl room!
The room only discount won't carry over through the trip and would only be good the first day! If we want to do the really long summer BC trip I have to cut down expenses on this trip.

BC gv room would be $3200 for the week - Swan is $1600. I think we're going to book the Swan (and hope some really good AP rates will come out and we can change). We love doing the 16 night trip in the summer and we want to go back to Hilton Head next summer too so this seems like the best idea.

I know I'll be pining for BC but at least with Feb. weather it won't be so hard to walk by SAB! Not ideal, but definitely better than having to downgrade to a moderate.

Totally understand....good trade-off - you will be able to take your long summer vacation at your favorite. Hoping for some for the discount!!
