2010 Trip planners, unite!!!

We booked the Waterview, Pirate Room at the CBR!! I am really excited  I am "planning" on the free dining - hopefully they have that promotion again!!! We went for Free Dining in Sept in 07 and LOVED it. Our son is will be in the first grade and I don't want to pull him out of school, and he starts a little later than most schools, so I think the last week in August would be a nice vacation before school starts!!

we are going this Aug. for 14 nights at POR 09(POR Sept08), but next year it will have to be around 11 nights.

So I am entertaining a few options
12 nights BC
11 nights Poly
7 nights POR, disney cruise 3---this one seems the least feasable because of cost, we are a famiy of 5 and that bumps us to$$$ cruise category, but I like to imagine getting a killer deal;)

I booked bounceback last year, and I think I will do the same this year. So I want to have my choice made by the time we leave for our trip.

DH, would have a caniption if he knew my plans:lmao:

Can someone tell me where I can find a list of past codes that were available? We are going and June 2010 and I would like to have an idea of what codes were offered in the past for that time.

We are going Jan 2010. 6 months away and I can hardly wait:cheer2:!!! It'll be our 3rd annual WDW trip. We have stayed at POP the last 2yrs and have been completely happy w/ it. But we want to experience another resort this time around. Hopefully Disney will have other great promotions like the Buy4 Get3 Free & the Free Dining Deals!!! I spoke w/ a Disney rep yesterday that said the 2010 dates and rates will be available mid summer (July) and that they would announce the new deals. he also said that the "Buy 4 Get 3 Free was a huge success for Disney this yr." :dance3:

Please oh please WDW, offer the Buy 4 get 3 Free next summer!!!
That would be SO totally awesome!!!

ok, question!!!
I want to book our room for next year...if a discount comes out, how do they apply it? Do they cancel that reservation and I risk losing that particular room??? I'm so nervous about that, don't know why! LOL...

Have a great time!

I asked about this, he said when the rates come out for 2010, for me to call and they will change/cancel my reservation to the new rates. He said if a promotion comes out like free dining, they will apply it to my reservation. So for now, I just have paid one night deposit, and I will call back when the 2010 rates come out to adjust my reservation. He did say the best thing to do if you want a certain resort or room type is to make the room only as soon as you can. Because I know what resort, and I know we wanted the Pirate Room, I did it so early... But I just hope that a promotion comes out so I can add that to my reservation!!!!

We are planning a March 6-13 2010 trip. I am strongly considering POFQ.
It will be my husband and DD's first trip, they will be 4-1/2 and 7-1/2.

I went once in 1996 for 1 day with a friend and then 3 days with my family back when I was 13 in hmmmm... 1990, I think. LOL

I thought about booking a deal this August, I found a great rate with dining plan and cheap airfare, but I want to my little one to grow a little more for the rides, she is almost to 40 inches now. Also, we would rather go in the winter time to shake off our winter blues. I am hoping to find a good deal for March! I have become a planning addict, but that is my nature and I agree that planning is part of the fun!

That week is Spring Break for our girls and I would love to get a Disney trip in, since they are older this time and will be able to do more. I tried to look at rates on the Disney site and the dates weren't available, yet. When do they open up, or do I need to start looking at the non-Disney properties, so that I have something already set up? (I'm a ridiculous overplanner.)

The 2010 rates come out in Aug. You can book room only now & change it after the rates come out.

We just went in April for 2 weeks stayed at POFQ.. April 2010 for another 2 weeks staying at CBR or AKL haven't decied on that one yet. I really can't wait. The girls have started to save 1/2 of there allowance for the trip. I'm sure Riley will want to do the BBB again. She love it. Hopefully we will get another 4/3 deal.

I was thinking of booking a room only in August just to get it paid down before we leave. Has anyone else done this. We have tickets but we didn't use them in April of this year beacause the 4/3 deal came out.

I want to take the family to Disney, but I can't make up my mind between mid- May 2010 and late Sept. 2010 (free dining). I know I want a family suite at All- Star Music. Do I need to book room only now? If so, how do I change the dates and later add tickets + park hopper & Disney Dining? This will be my first attempt at planning any vacation. NAy pointers would be great (I'm already working on my trip planning notebook!)

Hi MK2010 and welcome to the DIS!

If you want to you can book a room only now ( though not necessary) for May or Septemeber if/when you do the price you will be given will be based on the current year rates. Rates for 2010 will be out sometime in August ( only a few weeks from now :cool1:) The common trend is that while the rates do change from yr to yr the generally dont go up by very much ( IMO ). If you decide to book now and want to change your dates or add tickets etc...you would simply phone disney and do so. Or you could wait for the rates to come out in August by then you may have a better idea of when you want to go and you will know exactly how much your trip will cost you. Since this is your first trip I would personally recommend calling in to diseny to book as some of the CM can be very helpful and provide you with lots of information and tips etc. while going through the booking process.

My advise would be to wait unitl August ( unless you want specfic room request near pool, ground floor or something like that - if so do the room only now and make your request as well) you will have a better idea hopefully by then as to when you want to go and if you keep an eye on the boards you will know soon enough when the rates are out and you can book fairly early and still make room request ( though no room request are ever guarenteed)

I hope this has helped you in some way! Good Luck and Congrats!

We're planning a May 2010 WDW vacation, our first... EVER!!! It will be myself, my husband, and our two daughters (ages 5 and almost 2 at the time of our trip).

I've never planned a vacation before, so I'm trying to learn all of the ins and outs of planning a WDW vacation.

We want to stay at CBR, it looks so beautiful and my oldest daughter will absolutely love the themed pool!

So... how does this work? We want to book our room in October, and then want to add the rest of our trip to it in February (financially plannng). Is this ok, doable? We can't pay for it all in October... and don't want to wait until February to pay for it all at once incase we can't get into CBR.

Any suggestions, advice?

You guys are sooo awesome!! How on earth do beginners plan their first trip without this site???????

You can book a package in Oct (the rates for 2010 should be out then) and only need to pay a $200 deposit. Then the final payment is due 45 days before travel. If you do room only, you have to pay the equivalent of 1 nights stay, but would have to switch the ressie over to a package, and get a refund of the deposit & put another deposit of $200. It's easier to just book the package, IMO.

Plus, once you book you can keep your eye out for deals that may come out, and then call and have that special (or if you get a PIN code) applied to your ressie, and save yourself some money! :thumbsup2

TA's can often help you plan & book your trip, and shouldn't charge you extra for their services (if they do, don't use them! they are paid by Disney). Plus, a TA will keep an eye out for a deal, so you won't have to (unless you receive the pin code, then you will want to call your TA and let them know to see about getting it applied to your ressie). If you use a TA, they have to be the ones to call Disney concerning your ressie. They will also make your ADR's, unless it is something you want to do on your own.

You will love the family suite! It was perfect for us when we were there, and I plan to book again for my March 2010 trip.

IMO, wait for the rates to come out in a couple of months for the packages, and just book the package when they are available. That way you only have to worry about the $200 deposit, and not all the changing of stuff later. If you are not trying to go over Memorial Day weekend, you should be fine. I booked my ASMu suite 40 days prior to travel for the spring break season this past year. :scared1: I'm sure you won't have a problem getting one 6+ months out. ;)

Thank you so much for your help! I will definitely book the package then, instead of just the room. I didn't know about the $200 deposit and then making payments, until after I posted previously and started reading around a little bit more.

I'm getting sooooo excited  But it's still so far away :sad1:

Oh... question, will this package include our airfare? Or will that need to be added separately, and paid in full at the time we book it?
