2010 Podcast Cruise - Help us decide

Which is more important to you for the 2010 Podcast Cruise?

  • Price (keep price as low as possible)

  • Kids are out of school (price doesn't matter)

  • Doesn't matter what date you pick - I will go on either!!

Speaking as an educator and Disney enthusiast , it is just killing me that I can't go on this trip so I would love July but i understand others needs. <sigh> ah well.......

As a fellow teacher, right there with you. Oh well. :-(

I'm not sure I'll be able to go on the second podcast cruise, since I'm shelling out a pretty penny for this one, but if I do go, it would be because of the price.

I think I'm with Lisa on this one. I need to vote for the lowest price when the kids are out of school. I had the thought of RCCL too, but you already addressed that one. Although, RCCL coupled with Harry Potter at Universal - that would be cool! :thumbsup2

Anyhow, I voted for when the kids are out of school, but with the caveat that price DOES matter. OK, ok, I'm an academic, I know it.

We probably will not make the next cruise...:scared1: We really can't take DD out of school anymore. She's going to be missing a total of 10 days of school this year! Between MF and the cruise, I'm a bad mom, I know! She is a straight A student though. :cool2: It's just getting really hard for her. :guilty: She would lose it if we tried to ditch her and go on an adult only cruise. :love2:

That being said, Paul is probably going to post that we'll be on the ship, so I voted for a lower price. :lmao::lmao::lmao::thumbsup2

He is SO THERE! :goodvibes

I voted for Summer for our DD, but quite honestly I'd be ok with either. I don't think we'll take our DD out of school again, but that doesn't mean Kim and I couldn't make it, or just me. Of course; I'd have to promise a family cruise later in the year. :lmao:

My DH and I don't have any kids, so price would be the determining factor for us. Honestly the whole thing that has kept me away from going on Disney cruise line before has been the prices...I'm hoping the Podcast cruise will be reasonable so we can finally take one!

Since DD11 is in a year-round school (Track 3) and the traditional student calendar doesn't apply to her, well, the decision was pretty easy. I had to go with Price.... and hope she's tracked out during those dates. She's tracked-out right now and will only miss 2 days of school during the cruise this year. I have my fingers crossed!

An excellent plan :thumbsup2

I voted for price since that's the only reason I'm not on this one! :lmao:
In all seriousness, DFi and I do not have kids but he will be a school teacher next year. We don't know where he will be teaching, but I know that taking days off in the beginning of the year is possible (Sept, Oct) but towards Spring semester will be impossible. So can we shoot for Mid Sept? :confused3
Good luck to the team with planning. We know you will come up with something great!

Since my bride is a teacher we need a summer trip (or spring break) in order for us to attend. If we can make it we will be there.

I really hope you will consider a RCL cruise in the future.

Hi Podcast Team:

I'd like to see you tie it into the Food & Wine Festival... with the best rates of course:)

Mark

DH and I both work in Higher Ed, so there are times we absolutely cannot get out of the office. I vote for mid-June to mid-September, November, or December. Might be able to do it January-March, depending on dates.

Definitely not April, May, early June, or October.

Really, really wanted to be on this cruise, but not enough to find new jobs.

We'll have to settle for the Magic in September - not the Podcast cruise, but not hard to take.

Kathy

Yeah, in all honesty we were hoping for a 7 night, as well.
It'll be interesting to see how the rates turn out, as I think we will be rebooking when we are on the podcast cruise either way.

7 nights? John would have to spend a lot of time hiding from the Hug Patrol.

How about making every other year in the summer and in the opposite years in the less expensive season. That way there is plenty of time to save for the summer season rates.

I think that's a good idea. Would make both sides happy. Although the price side does seem to outnumber the summer side quite a bit.

I am going for price.
As we are in Canada the airfare is already a killer for us.
Taking the boy's out of school is not an issue for us as they get tutoring on an on going basis.
I would not go if it was during hurricane season, just the thought scares me.:scared1:
Hoping this helps with you descisions.

I didn't need to worry about kids in school and can manage time off with planning but like some others who posted, the single supplement was the killer and that's where I wind up saying, it is too much money.
