2010 news from the Magic

And then you'll have about a week or two to get a second job :rotfl:

I submitted my resume to Kelly Services this afternoon. I figured that I could pick up some temp work here and there and set that money aside for a Disney cruise in 2010. (I'll be sending in my resume to all those other temporary services on Monday.) :cool2:

Darn, I am so hoping that the bookings will start 2 weeks after the announcements, instead of the week after. I was going to take off on the day the bookings open, but now one of the damn teachers needs to go in the hospital for 2 days of tests and picked that Monday/Tuesday (10/13 and 14)!!! The nerve of some people getting sick when I need to book a Disney cruise for 2 years from now!! :lmao:

Now what is a girl to do?????????????????

(don't think I'm being insensitive, I love the girl, she's a sweetheart, so I told her to take those 2 days to get the tests done. Damn, what was I thinking?) :confused3 ;)

:surfweb: I'm so glad I stumbled onto this thread last week, I had no idea all this was about to happen and I can't wait to find out about the possible Baltic/Med cruises in 2010! I've been able to think of nothing else and I keep coming back here to check for another tidbit of info. Now I just have to talk DH into it!

Well, today I decided they've been secretly spreading Med rumors because its really going to be Alaska!

Wherever it is, the hard decision will be repositioning or special itinerary???:confused3 Repositioning is usually a better value. But most importantly, will there be enough time to check in with all my DIS pals to see who wants to go where and when!?!?!?!?!

.

Hey Jackie, I could be talked into Alaska!

Silly question - how would you feel going on a cruise on its very first trip?

Too many thoughts of the Titanic for me

I was on the Maiden Voyage of the Magic (kinks and all) and I would love to be on the Maiden Voyage of of either of the new ships!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

If I am correct, I remember the Med cruise being very pricey. If Alaska is too pricey I may just do it on RCCL or Princess.

Which do you think is better, to book through DCL or a TA? Also, are any of the Disney vacation planners advertised all over the web any good? Can anyone recommend one? When we did the med cruise we used one of those and it seemed that I had to take care of every detail myself. thanks :tinker:

I would book it yourself, then transfer it to a travel agent later if you want. Travel agents will be very busy the day bookings open, and unless you are near the top of their client list - you, too, may be complaining that you could've gotten a lower price if you had done it yourself.

I agree with NancyIL, if you are not already on a TA's waitlist at this point, you are probably much better off booking directly with DCL yourself.

I think we're going to have to wait a little bit longer for that one.

I'm interested to see if there will be a special S.Caribbean cruise for Christmas! (I'm really thinking there's no way I can do a cruise AND round trip airfare to London/Europe.)

I have a staff meeting Monday morning at 9AM...I'll be pushing everyone to get to the point and get outta there in 30 minutes.

I would love to visit Venice but theres no way they could do that itinerary but add Venice - it is on the north eastern coast of Italy so to sail to it would require traveling round the bottom, past sicilly and up the eastern coast so the cruise would be much longer.

I would love to see a cruise which took in Venice and then went down and did Greece and the greek islands... souns like a little slice of heaven. Gorgeous weather and beaches and loads of history \ culture too :)

This is what we would like also - not interested if it is the same as 2007.

Found the following on MouseSavers:

"Disney Cruise Line will be announcing a collection of special itineraries for 2010 in New York City around noon Eastern on Monday, October 6."

Exactly why I have to try and get on with DCL myself. Had plans on taking off that day just to do the booking, so I can get what I want (or as close as possible), so didn't make any contacts with Travel Agents. Now I'd just be too far down on the list....
