2010 news from the Magic

so now they will tell us on the 6th? do we just have to log onto the cruise website? or will we have to enter a castaway member id somewhere? i have no idea what my cc id is!

IMO, don't bother doing either. Just log onto the DIS DCL board around the release time and all of the info will be posted here (many times).

Based upon what Capt Henry said on the Wonder last week, I believe they'll also give at least a hint of where the Magic and Wonder will be traveling after the new ships come online!

Silly question - how would you feel going on a cruise on its very first trip?

Too many thoughts of the Titanic for me

I'm not worried about the seaworthiness of a new ship. I'd just want them to get the kinks worked out before I sail on it. Therefore, there will be no inaugural cruises for me.

What was the 2007 Med itinerary?

10 night: Barcelona, at sea, Palermo, Naples, Olbia (Sardinia), Civitavecchia (Rome), La Spezia (Florence), Marseilles, Villefranche (Nice, Monte Carlo), at sea, Barcelona

11 night: added another at sea day after Rome

It does sound lovely, but it would be great if they could somehow work Venice into it this time.

I would love to visit Venice but theres no way they could do that itinerary but add Venice - it is on the north eastern coast of Italy so to sail to it would require traveling round the bottom, past sicilly and up the eastern coast so the cruise would be much longer.

I would love to see a cruise which took in Venice and then went down and did Greece and the greek islands... souns like a little slice of heaven. Gorgeous weather and beaches and loads of history \ culture too :)

RCCL has a nice 12-day round trip out of Barcelona that stays overnight in Venice. Disney would have to eliminate some other ports, but it could be done. I wouldn't mind giving up one of the French and Italian ports to add Venice. If we don't do the Disney Med, this is one of the others we are considering:

Day 1 Barcelona, Spain 6:00 PM

Day 2 Cannes (Monte Carlo), France 10:00 AM 8:00 PM Tendered

Day 3 Livorno (Florence/Pisa), Italy 7:00 AM 7:00 PM Docked

Day 4 Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy 7:00 AM 7:00 PM Docked

Day 5 Naples, Capri, Italy 7:00 AM 7:00 PM Docked

Day 6 Cruising

Day 7 Venice, Italy 1:30 PM Docked

Day 8 Venice, Italy 3:00 PM Docked

Day 9 Dubrovnik, Croatia 10:00 AM 6:00 PM Tendered

Day 10 Corfu, Greece 7:00 AM 7:00 PM Docked

Day 11 Cruising

Day 12 Cruising

Day 13 Barcelona, Spain 6:00 AM

I was so worried that I'd miss everything on the 7th, because I am chaperoning a much-anticipated field trip. And, now . . . I will know all about it on the 6th. YEAH!!!!

And then you'll have about a week or two to get a second job :rotfl:

I am so happy to find this thread! My very first cruise will be in 2010 and now I have just have to wait 3 more days to find out what kind of cruise I will be taking.

Thats a great itinerary - if they were to do something like this I would be very tempted. We did a 14 night cruise in the Med for our honeymoon which had similar stops to the previous DCL med ones and Sicily was my least favourite along with Toulon (just along from Villefranche) so I would say a swap of Sicilly for Venice is a great idea!!!! It would be a shame to miss Sardinia though as that is beautiful too!

Thank goodness we will be put out of our misery soon though! I just need to win the Lotto tomorrow night and I will book back to back Baltic, mini european repo from UK to Barcalona and then Med!

A girl can dream can't she!!!???

Royal Caribbean has an itinerary that was almost identical to Disney's 07 Med but included an overnight in Venice. We ALMOST did that one in 07 - was $3,000 less than Disney and included an extra night.
