2010 news from the Magic

I remember all of us running downstairs to a very late breakfast. And I remember that your mom couldn't sleep and went to McD's in the middle of the night or something crazy like that??

If Steph, Patricia and your family go on the same cruise, I just might be persuaded. My 11 year old still talks about "the girl on the cruise who put spoons on her nose."

So, Andrew's projected June sail dates are June 12 and June 24. Which one do you guys think you would book? If I had to pick, we would probably book the 24th so that we'd have some time to spend in London beforehand (or wherever the heck the ship is sailing from).

Jodie
I think they stopped serving breakfast at 11am at our hotel if I'm remembering correctly. Both of our families were running downstairs at about 10 till trying to catch breakfast that first day! That time change was definitely rough.

And yes, my mom ventured out alone in Barcelona in the middle of the night and went to a McDonald's. Her and my father fell asleep at like 5pm the night we arrived so then my mom woke up at 2am and couldn't fall back asleep. Obviously McDonald's was the logical choice. :rotfl:

I am so glad that I will always be remembered as the girl who put the spoons on her nose. How classy am I?! At least I didn't do it on Palo night, right?

We would probably go for the June 24th as well. The June 12th might be a little bit of a stretch depending on when we get out of school. This thread is so exciting! :dance3:

:wave2: Another Medhead'er watching this cruise :pirate:

:thumbsup2: That was one of the best vacations we ever took--cannot wait for the new cruise to be relased!

Would be so much easier if we knew which port they were proposing to use and then I can plan. So hope this time it is the uk to save a flight.

Agree about the overnight flights but at least you are starting a holiday not ending it like we are on that flight - so depressing.

Hi Silver 7!!

Lauren, if we fly into London for this cruise, there are some flights that operate during the day. I know that United flies from Dulles in the morning so you don't have the overnight flight. Your sleep still gets messed up a bit, but you don't have the torture of trying to stay awake ALL DAY LONG on the day of arrival.

Well Capt Henry was pretty close mouthed. But he did say that when they announce the 2010 itineraries, that they'll also provide a glimpse of what the Wonder and Magic will be doing in 2011 and 2012 after the new ships come online.

Also, he specifically mentioned that Disney would become a GLOBAL cruise line!

And finally, Jim Lewis said they are looking into a 7 nt Member cruise possibley as early as 2010.

Can't wait to find out more, this is really getting interesting! :thumbsup2

We arrived in Barcelona at about noon and was in the hotel by 1 PM. By 4 PM we were all ready to sleep but I "forced" everyone to walk around, as the prospect to the boys getting up at 2 AM was not appealing. It was hard to do as I was dragging my feet too! Thankfully we were near a nice park and a tourist area so there were things to do. We grabed an early dinner, by Barcelona standard, and went to bed at 8 PM. It worked out for us because everyone was up and ready to get breakfast and a visit Barcelona by 8 AM.

Our bodies are so strange aren't they:rotfl2: - we are in the UK and when we come home from the US we don't have a problem staying awake - we are usually still in US time and are desperately trying to GO to sleep at 2am!!! - how weird that it is the opposite for you guys when you come this way!!:lmao:

Its that aweful overnight flight - getting off the plane at 6:00am Europe time when it feels like midnight our time, and then staying up ANOTHER 12 HOURS to adjust. I wish I could nap on the plane, but I just can't do it.

I don't sleep well on the plane either. Guess that is why they call them "red eyes"

I agree, when we were looking at flights to Barcelona, Delta had the latest flight to arrive and depart to/from Barcelona. To top it off we were flying in from the west coast which meant we were leaving the west coast early morning.... :sad1:

Its I wish I could nap on the plane, but I just can't do it.

that is why I am really beat when I fly to Asia.... 19-20 hours counting stopover time... :scared:

This is getting exciting -- thanks for the update! DCL is opening a lot of the world up to folks who don't ordinarily venture too far from home, I think.

:worship:Okay all you experienced "MedHeads"!!! Any suggestions as to which airlines have the best rates?? We'd be flying out of FL. We're thinking about Med/Transition/Baltic.. whooo hoooo :woohoo: 29 Days Of European MAGIC!!! That's our wish list of course... we'll see what really happens!! :lmao: If the transition cruise covers some Med ports... maybe we'll just do Transition/Baltic. I'd love to correspond with someone who can give me tips on the Med ports though. :teacher: What to see/ what to skip etc. But I'm getting ahead of myself... ;) I'm just too excited for these announcements!!

i was thinking about doing the 29 night cruise also.than i had to slap myself across the face and wake up. im actually thinking about doing the 19 night cruise with the 7 night repo than the baltic. go to sidestep.com and see which airline has the best rates. than u can book it there or go to the airline website. of course we still have about 8 months or whatever until we can actually book, but you can put in dummy dates for 2009 and see the price that will give u an idea.

Yeah we were hoping that it would be all Baltic with a Relo to get us home by Labor Day.

After doing the EB Repo we found 15 days was just not enough!

So we were going to book back to back with the Repo home.

I wonder if Disney is doing this just to complicate everyone's life.

Oh well my TA will know the agenda a day early hopefully we can book something we like back to back!:cool1:

Just interested in where Magic will be leaving from Europe or UK and just hope it is UK somewhere. If not will seriously look at a cruise line that does this time.

We need two days to adjust to the time difference. The 1st day we are sleep-walking and the 2nd day we sleep late to make up the difference so we miss half a day.

Two days!! I've been back two weeks and I'm still not right. The worse I've ever been with jet-lag was over three weeks.:confused3
