2010 Mom's Panel Results along with lists of Round 2 & 3 Participants

Ok, so I just have to say this. Since I am not one of the people who made it on to round 2 (but I am SUPER happy for those who did), I was quite upset reading a few posts on another site earlier today. I read, not 1, but 3 posts of people who have made it on to round 2 but are dropping out and never had any intention of going through with it!!!!!! One of the people said they just did it to see if they could make it past the first round, one person said they don't have time (wouldn't you know what sort of commitment was involved before you applied-I know I did), and the other "just isn't interested any longer"!!!! I am sorry to say, but I think that is horrible!!! Just think, that is 3 more people who really wanted to that could have moved on! I totally understand if something comes up out of the blue, but come on!

I am so sorry you lost your wife.

I was just wondering if any single people with no kids made the cut! But I figure there weren't very many single people with no kids that actually applied. I was just curious.

I actually applied for the second year in a row. I am a single person with no children. I have worked in the childcare industry for over 12 years though and have been to Disney many times. Plus I am also an adoptee so I thought why not apply.

With the second round no shows, do you think they may just be saying that because they don't think they'll make it past the first round? Why would you apply if you didn't want it? I must admit though I only applied last year as I wanted the goodie bag for the rejects, I never ever thought I'd get chosen and receive the best goodie bag ever - a night in the Castle

After SO much great news yesterday, I received some scary news yesterday afternoon- the doctor found a lump in my breast and she wants me to see a surgeon right away... SO, I'm asking for lots of good thoughts and prayers from my DIS friends, if you wouldn't mind! I'm very scared right now, and I hate that I had a damper put on my exciting day finding out about moving on to round 2!

They think it's a benign fibroadenoma, but they want to make sure. I'm terrified it is something worse. And as a single mom to a 2 year old, lots of scary things go through my head.... Ugh.

SO, if you wouldn't mind throwing some pixie dust my way in the midst of the celebrating... which I'm still trying to do in spite of this scary news!

Thanks so much for the congrats, Allyson & everyone else too! I will try to do you all proud, but will admit I'm a bit nervous seeing the field go from 200 down to 10!! WOW!!! My questions are done, just waiting for DH to get home and take a pic of me. I knew I wouldn't find any of just me to put up! LOL!!

I did not make it but congrats to my fellow MA moms! Esp Lisa from Sutton (I grew up in Whitinsville and all my family is there!) and Gloria from Franklin (we go to church in Franklin).

I did my application and sent it though. to everyone! My guess is that this "ride" just gets rougher from here on out. I imagine my fall will be a little harder now if I don't get the whole way through. Yikes!

Yeah, I know how sad I was (am) that I didn't make it to round 2 ... I can't even imagine what 190 of you will feel like to get so close...that must be hard.

So meanwhile, enjoy this Disney-high!!

wow ... I'm soooo sad to read this. Imagine the 3 other folks who are just sooo sad that they didn't get through...and then they have to hear this. Of course, we don't know who #201, 202 and 203 are but this just 'blows'.

On the other hand, this does confirm for me that the mom's panel judges are human too and make mistakes. They obviously read those answers and thought they had somebody really special...but turns out they got it wrong. Now those folks don't even want to continue?? How can they really have the Disney magic and devotion and NOT want to continue???!!!??? and here we are, willing to jump at a chance!
