How exciting that you are all getting your interviews scheduled.
If you can remember your questions we could use them to practice for another year! :lmao:

I wanted to wish you all a Happy and Exciting Halloween!
:hmghost::wave2:

I am going to post Saturday's question tonight since I suspect that I will not be able to do it in the morning.

Saturday's waiting day question is:

What is your favorite mode of transportation while in Disney World? This can include your transportation to Disney and can also include modes of transportation from the past.
:car: ... :boat: ... :moped: ... :drive: ... :cool1:

Happy Halloween to you and everyone too!!

My favorite mode of transportation from the past would have to be the Double Decker buses that went around World Showcase. I LOVED those things and so did my mom and dad. They always had such great drivers and it was fun watching them honk the horn and talk to guests in the way and hear interesting facts about the countries we were passing. I really really miss them, but of course understand why there is simply no room for them anymore on the walkways!

Of course the Monorail will always be a thing of wonder and amazement for me. It's never NOT cool to get in and ride around Disney World in the sky. Ever since I was a kid we always played "guess which color it's going to be!" as we waited for the monorail to arrive. My kids are carrying on that tradition. :)

Does anyone remember the very short-lived trams that went from the International Gateway to the Yacht and Beach Club resorts? We went on that a few times, but as I recall it always stopped in the middle of the two resorts so we'd have to backtrack to the Beach Club where we stayed. That grassy area after the covered area in front of the ticket booths is where it used to stop and load guests. It was in two-toned shades of aqua blue and shell pink if I recall too.

My favorite mode of transportation is and will always be the monorail!
!Por favor mantanganse alejado de las puertas!
We too always tried to guess the colors, but now we pretty much know what color goes where. I love to hop on and take a round trip for a nice little rest.

I thought I would share my Halloween Costume with everyone, we dressed up for work today!

It is "Minnie Mouse" Me! :rotfl:

love it!! That's so cool you get to dress up for work!

That really is well said and does make it easy to create a pic of him in your mind! I love it!

Just wanted to make sure you knew I was quoting Ejud's blog!

Love the story of Elvis and you all at the pool. Way too funny that your dad didn't get a pic of Elvis.

Ooooh, I have a soft spot for him!!

I haven't seen any celebrities (or if I did, I didn't realize it)...

Best of luck on all the interviews!!

An advantage of going first is that all the other interviews will be held up to your standard. So set the bar high.

Remember to be yourselves (don't force anything b/c it'll come off badly), but try to remember to say something "cute/funny/moving/memorable". Tell them a story of something that happened to you at Disney that you'll never forget and why.

Your goal is to get them to remember you and in a good way!

I'm so excited for you all!:cool1:

I love the monorail the most. That just signifies Disney to me. I'm so glad we were able to ride in the front car on our last trip so DD could experience that.

However, if it's during Wishes, then riding the boat from the Poly to MK is my favorite!

i don't think i have ever seen any celebrities there either... though i do try and keep a look out. the last time we were there i was trying to shield my face from the sun (senstitive pregnancy skin) so i was wearing a hat and suglasses, and my dad said i looked like i was a celebrity in hiding...

as for my faveorite mode of tansportation, i alwasy like to make sure we do one of each! i explained to ds how we would be taking a plane, then car, then a monorail, and a train and a boat eventually too. he of course couldn't care less he just had fun! maybe on the next trip when he is older he will get more excited :dance3:

I'm a bit behind on the questions.....

Celebrities: Um, we saw some NFL player a few years ago - I asked my DH if he remembered who it was and he said "yep, it was Kerry Collins, from the Tennessee Titans." (I should mention that this sighting was more about 3 1/2 years ago and he still remembered. The fact that he can't remember things I told him yesterday, but CAN remember some random NFL sighting boggles the brain.) :rotfl:

Favorite mode of transportation: the Monorail, of course. And I also fell in love w/ the boats from the WL when we visited this past April! :)

Good luck to everyone in Round 3 for your interviews. :goodvibes

Oh, and Boo To You! Happy Halloween everyone!!!! :goodvibes

hmmmm......my favorite mode of transportation at the world? But there isn't really much better than the monorail or the boats, is there?

I asked my son what his favorite was, his response - "well, duh! Star Tours of course!" :rotfl: He's 8. :)

Good luck on all your interviews, looking forward to hearing the good news shortly!!

After the monorail, I'd have to say the boats...specifically the boat that goes from Fort Wilderness to the Magic Kingdom and back. i LOVE coming out of the magic kingdom and walking straight down to the docks. There is hardly ever a wait and it holds alot of people. It's such a relaxing ride back over to the most relaxing resort on property!

Favorite mode of transportation...well, of course I love the monorail, but I also love taking the boat. I really admire the captains; being able to land those boats full of people so smoothly! And they are so friendly! We try to use the boat transportation whenever it is available.

I too was a big fan of the EPCOT double decker bus. What fun it was to ride in them. :goodvibes

I also enjoy Doom Buggies, Hang Gliders, elevators and Test Track cars!:rotfl: But I guess you really don't go anywhere on any of them!:lmao:

So for the present my favorite is the Monorail. Up front with the pilot used to be the big thing in our family. Our children and my mother used to love being up front. I got to ride up front one time coming back from EPCOT. I was with a friend and we so enjoyed the long and beautiful ride up there!

I also enjoy the glassed in elevator at the Grand Floridian, especially when the lobby is decorated for Christmas. What a spectacular view!

Another favorite is the Magic Express bus from the airport. It means that a new trip is waiting at the end of the line.:woohoo: I have had some delightful drivers too. Now the trip back to the airport is not my favorite. They need to spice it up somehow. :confused3 It is darn right depressing sometimes and I have had two really poor drivers take me back to the airport!:scared1:

In the past, when we had last minute really tight budget trips, we had used LYNX public buses to get from the airport and actually for a public bus service they do a great job! The drivers were always super friendly and helpful, they accommodate luggage very well, and many of the other riders were Disney CM's. It is always fun to ask them where they work, although their uniforms often gives that away.

My least favorite mode of transportation is one our dear friends had to use on our last trip. Our friend cut his hand on the back of a chair when he was returning to our table from the dance floor at Biergarten. He ended up needing medical care and the Disney first aid nurse arranged transportation for them to an Urgent Care Center. He received great care, Disney paid the bills, and they returned them to their resort. It was first class all around.

We did have trouble finding the First Aid Center in EPCOT but in reality that was our fault. Like getting on a plane or being in a strange building, you should always know where the nearest exits is. We should have known where the first aid stations in each park were! :upsidedow

I hope you are all having a great Halloween Day and that you and your families will enjoy Trick-or-Treat or a Fall Festival tonight.

It is cold, windy and rainy here so I suspect we will not get very many Trick or Treaters!:sad1:

Wishing all the round 3 people an extra dose of pixie dust that you all just sparkle during your interviews! Good luck next week. We'll be waiting here to hear patiently with you for the news.

As for mode of transportation - The WEDway People Mover! We used to ride 8-10 times in a row while DD and DS napped when they were younger. To this day it is one of their favorite rides too. We generally have to go at least 2-3 times in a row each time we go on. :)

Boo! To you too! Happy Halloween everyone!

Round 3ers! I am excited and nervous for you! I know all of you will do great in your interviews!

Favorite mode of transportation.... Magical Express and what ever gets me to the park the fastest! :rotfl:

Monorail will always be a favorite!

Hello All,

I wanted to add something to this thread and I just plain kept forgetting.:lmao:

You round 3'ers wanted a place to get to know one another and for all of us to get to know you and ask questions of you.

So with that in mind I would love it if one of you:
Amanda from GA, Amanda from Raleigh, Dannee, Kathie, Kaylene, Marc, Sue, or Suzannah will volunteer to start.

Introduce your family, your likes dislikes, jobs or whatever you want to talk about. Then we can all ask you a few questions and you can spend the day answering us. I think there is enough time in the waiting left for everyone to have at least a day!

We can do this in addition to the ? of the day!

HI There! Ok, Since I'm sitting here waiting for Trick or Treating to begin... I'll go...

Mom of two. Wife to one :lmao:

I am from Upstate SC - but originally from New England (CT and VT). We moved because it was just too cold. The final straw which made us move: Leaving Orlando where it was 78 degrees in Feb, only to return to -22 degrees at home. A 100 degree temperature difference!

I am a project manager by day, and Disney fanatic by night (and mornings and evenings)...

Favorite Movie: Aladdin/National Treasure
Favorite Resort: Wilderness Lodge
Favorite Park: Animal Kingdom @ night

My blog has a bit about my conversion to a vegetarian this year (115 days and counting!), running, and going green. Plus a bunch of blogs inspired by old newspaper clippings about Walt and the parks - A by-product of my job :)

I'm also on twitter at magic2go

Kathie,

Thank you for volunteering to go first! I read your intro as mom of one wife of two and had to go do a double take! :rotfl: I was relieved to see I had read wrong!

I was going to ask you your favorite resort but I see you beat me to that. I have only stayed at AKL one time and I found it the most un-restful resort!:confused3 Why you ask? I was up all night every night looking for and listening to the animals! :lmao:

My DD is a vegetarian and loves some of the Disney meals that the chefs prepared for her. So what is your favorite meal and where did you have it?

We've been to AKL a couple of times - Its definitely in my top 5 resorts! We were there this may and able to stay on Club Level. A wonderful CM went around the lounge handing out straw hats to the kids one day. We still have it, and my son was wearing it just this week! It was one of those perfect Disney touches that we'll remember for a long time!

My favorites - hmmm - for sit down meals I think its a tie between the Crystal Palace for Puffed French Toast and Yak & Yeti for Veggie Lo Mein. YUM. That'd be a perfect day... Crystal Palace and Magic Kingdom in the morning, and a late night at Animal Kingdom with dinner at the Y&Y. Maybe a ride on Kali thrown in to end the night :) I think Teppan Edo is right up there too. It really is a hard decision!

PS. And of course there are always crepes, funnel cakes and the Main St. Bakery ice cream sandwiches if I need a snack :)

Kathie, what ages are your children? What is your favorite show at the parks and favorite attractions? If you've done the water parks, what's your favorite part of those?
