and hopeful thoughts for you!:flower3:

Oh, and my family story - 1999 DD 14 and DS 8 - hanging around Main St waiting for our ADR time at CP - a CM walked up to us and asked if we had a spare 15 minutes and a camera. DUHH!! The kids got to go up on the train station platform and start Minnie's Magical Main Street parade along with Minnie, Goofy, Tigger, Chip & Dale and Pluto. Then they all posed for pictures up on the platform, with just my kids, with NOBODY else in sight - my hands were shaking trying to get the perfect picture!!!

Ok, now that you've talked about the pic, we all want to see it!!!! :cutie:

I had the same question about whether it would be cheaper to upgrade the dining plan or upgrade to a moderate. Here's what I figured:

Room cost at POP, preferred, 10 nights (2 adults 2 kids): $990
Upgrade of dining plan (3 adults, 1 child): $320
Total cost to stay at POP: $1310

Room cost at POFQ, 10 nights: $1510

Total difference for 10 nights: $200 more to stay at POFQ.

Now we just have to decide if having a smaller resort, with slightly bigger room, a fridge and 2 sinks and a pool slide is worth the extra $200.

Someone else probably already said this by now, but....

It's like $10/night to rent a mini fridge, right? So, there's another $100 at POP. This brings your difference down wo $100 over 10 nights ($10/night). So, would your family enjoy POFQ more than POP?

Sorry if this was already asked, but if you are staying at a Value resort and want to upgrade to the regular dining plan, how much will it cost? THANKS!!!

The price difference between QSDP and DDP - 10$ per adult per day.

Not sure what the price diff is for the 9 and under set.

Or...you can try for a free fridge swap and pay nothing for the fridge :)

I have been reading through the posts and I have a qa. We currently are booked at CBR and are hoping to get the FD. If not, then we will be downgrading to POP. Now, if FD does come out for mod and we already have a room booked is it just a case of adding the FD? Do we have a better shot than say someone who wants to upgrade or book a new reservation? I keep reading that they only allow so many rooms per resort? One of the reason I asked this is because we originally were going to book POP then upgrade IF the FD came out, but the CM advised us to book CBR because it would be easier to downgrade???

This is what I struggle with. Is POFQ THAT much better than POP? :confused3 The food court at POP is wonderful (selection, etc.). Is POFQ QS restaurant as good? Dedicated buses at POP. Do you wait less or more time at POFQ? BIG pool at POP. Don't think my DGD would use the slide so that's not a factor for me.

Honestly the only plus that I see is the frig and queen size beds...if they have queen size.

Actually, there are 4 of us but I decided I prefer 2 rooms at POP than 1 room at moderate. Not much difference in cost. TO MANY DECISIONS!!!

Pretty sure CSR is the only moderate that has queen size beds. :thumbsup2

Definitely no queen beds at POFQ.

We prefer the food court at POP to the food court at POFQ hands down. The CMs preparing the food moved slow as molasses at the POFQ food court every time we visited. And POP's food court has lots more choices.

AWWWWWWWWW!! That's awesome!!

So should I call POR directly on May 3? That is where we have reservations now, and that's where I'd like to stay, with the FD offer.

No. Call the Disney reservations center number on the Disney website.

The resort doesn't have any record of your reservation til somewhere between 5 and 10 days before you check in.

No, you call CRO, the main Disney line. They will set up a new reservation for you that includes POR (hopefully) and free dining.

AmyinPa - the answer is it depends. You would have to call and see if there is a room available at your resort for the FD promo. They would then have to change your current reservation to that. Since they only have a set number of rooms per resort for the promo you can't just add it to your current reservation. The rumor has been posted that Disney may make the promo available to new reservations since people book in advance hoping for the promos to come out. Not sure how they would handle that if you have a current reservation and call to cancel and then rebook. Again, the current answer would be that you would have to call and see if there is availability at the resort you are reserved for.

Could you imagine the HORROR of a CM saying, SOrry we have nothing available to you (in the guise of "you already booked and we wanna let others get a room" first??) :sad1::rotfl2: not sure which one, really :confused3.
I think it will be same as in years past, you'll cancel, they'll change it without issue, guess we'll hear soon enough though............popcorn::

1. It wasn't an uploadable picture back then!

2. Even if it was, I'm so bad at using Photobucket and the like.

But it is a really nice picture!!!
