2010 Fall Dining for DVISA Is Out (See FIRST page)'

In the past, Disney Visa cardholders were offered the promo a few days before the general public got it. I believe the rooms are all one big pot, not so many for the Visa holders and so many for the public...I'm pretty sure it's just a set amount at each resort (but really don't know what that amount is, it can vary from one resort to another). If they release it to the Visa holders first and you have one, you have to place at least the deposit on that card. Just saying you have the card isn't enough because anyone can say they have it.

Any reservation made by a TA needs to be dealt with/taken care of by that TA (and Disney has told this to guests who've utilized a TA but tried to makes changes to their ressies on their own). You would not be able to do it yourself.
Oh no! I didn't mean I was going to lie about having a Disney Visa. We do have one and our deposit is already made using it. I just didn't know if I had to do anything special to get the promo in advance of the general public, besides telling them I'm going to be using my Disney Visa. This is the first time we've used it to book a Disney trip.

Disney Visa should be DVISA and DVC should remain Disney Vacation Club.. who was in charge of the abbreviations again? :lmao::lmao:

My first year waiting for FD (2007)... I accidently called the Disney Visa holders, VD People!!! I turned 3 shades of red over that faux pas.

As a matter of fact... it was a Free Dining discussion started by none other than ... CanadianGuy and reached 192 pages!!!

So you currently have a ressie booked with the deposit on your Visa...and if the promo releases for the Visa holders first, you just want to add the promo to it during that time, right? I would think that as long as the ressie was under rack rate, it shouldn't be a problem to give them a call and say "I already booked this with my Disney Visa so I'd like to apply the Disney Visa FD code." Disney Visa card numbers start with a particular set of numbers and the system does recognize it as a Disney Visa...so I wouldn't think it should be a problem at all.

Awesome! Thanks! Just didn't want anyone to think I'm a liar! :) So, do you think I have less to worry about, as far as having to change my resort, since I'm using my Disney Visa and will be able to add the promo on before the GP (if it's released to DVisa early)?

Ok, I have a question, instead of just lurking and commenting........

If I booked through a TA and paid my $200 deposit to the TA, can I call Disney myself and have my ressie switched? For example, I currently have ressies as ASMu, but if FD comes out, my budget can swing going to a mod. Do I have to do this through the TA or since I have my ressie number, Disney themselves can do it for me. I'm just concerned that I won't be able to reach my TA in time and that I'll miss out on getting FD with POR!!!! Anyone??? :confused3

You will have to proceed thru your TA. I suspect they'll be making one phone call that morning and making many client changes in one call. That's the best way for most agents to get it all done and so I wouldn't worry too much.

You know.. for a guy who has yet to visit Disney on a free dining package.. I sure do go on and on about it here on the boards hey?

:mic:

No surprise I work in radio.. hahah.. :lmao:

Thank you for the update!!

Now - a stupid question.

We were originally thinking October, but with the delay of a fall deal I started pricing out December, as the difference in rates (regular vs. value) more than makes up for having to pay for DS (who turns 3 on October 13th). Now I kind of have my heart set on December - cooler weather, less crowds, etc. (there will be less crowds - right???)

IF we were to bite the bullet and book for FD to go down at the beginning of October, and if by some act of God, FD is announced for December, it'd be ok to change our dates, right? I understand we'd possibly have to change resorts, and our dates are flexible, as long as it falls during value season. I'd just hold off on booking airfare until end of July I suppose.

Does this make sense? Or should I just stick with the original plan and go down in October? One of the main reasons we originally planned October was because my birthday is 10/5, DS is 10/13 and DD is 10/14 so it'd be a huge celebration.

You can make changes up to 45 days before check in without a fee. When in December are you thinking? We went last year 12/16-12/23. It was packed! And COLD most of the time. Last year the FD for September – December come out on July 27th.

wow I should have posted this morning when there was only one page:lmao:
here is a pic of Fantasmic last Sept. (ignore the date on the photo I never set the camera up)

this is the reason that I have been (mostly) confident that they will offer free dining or some other good promo for Sept. look how empty it was!

When were u there in September?

I was thinking like the 8th-15th or something along those lines. I know it's during Pop Warner time, but I'm ok with taking that risk.

What is cold? Coming from western NY, if it's in the 50's in December people are running around in shorts and sunglasses. We went in January 2009 and it was PERFECT for us. We're not hot weather people...that's what scares me about October. I've heard it can be nasty hot. :(

We have kind of extenuating circumstances, in that we're adopting a child and have no idea when that will happen (They're projecting 3-9 months from now, in which our September trip hits right in the middle of! However, with adoption, it may be years from now that it happens and you can't plan life around it.). But, I called Disney to see what would happen with our reservation if we had to change our dates at the last minute. The CM told me that, as long as our new reservations cost more than our current ones, there was no change fee (even up until the day before and IF we're just rescheduling, not canceling our res.). But, if the new dates cost LESS, then there would be a $50 change fee. Is that everyone else's understanding as well?

** Sorry if this doesn't quite belong on this thread....I was trying to sort of answer MikesMom's question (with another question thrown in) but couldn't get the "quote" function to work!

I can't remember exactly, but at night it was like 30's. No one would ride the water ride like Splash Mt or Kali River Rapids. It just didn't seem right without the heat. :upsidedow If you do go in December make sure to bring warm cloths. I had to buy a jacket. Only a couple of days did we wear shorts. I’m not sure what the operating hours are for October but December they closed earlier then summer. I miss being in Magic Kingdom until 2.

I’m hoping for FD too. I want to go in November this year. My DS15 get a week off. He plays football in High School so the summer is out. :sad1:

Look at the Lifeguard. He looked like he should be at a ski resort!!:rotfl:

:lmao: that is pretty funny about the lifeguard. When we were there in January, we did go swimming during the day, but never early or late in the day.

This rumor announcement has really been the highlight of my day! I've been having such a bad day. My car wouldn't start this morning so I ended up missing my first appointment of the day, I got a phone call from my cell phone service provider with a pushy salesman trying to sell me stuff I don't want or need (everyone says I should just hang up, but I just don't have it in me to be rude!!), I got a ticket for driving when my registration expired, AND my dad's in the hospital because he had a heart attack. (He's okay now and is doing much better!)

I really, really, really hope this rumor is true! I need this vacation!

I too am a DVisa card holder. I have my trip booked at Pop with QSDP. It is not paid for in full yet. If for some magical reason, Disney announces FD for DVisa holders and it applies to my travel dates 10/7 thru 10/12....can I make a payment on the DVisa to qualify for the promo? I thought that these DVisa promos applied if you put the entire package on your card.

I have a question.....maybe someone can help.

Well, it looks like that a member of my family (also going to Disney with us) has lost their job.:scared1: We still want to go...obviously. My boyfriend and I were talking about downgrading from the suite at CSR to one of the value resorts, take a free QSD (if offered) and upgrade to the DDP. That way we can absorb the costs. Should I wait until FD is offered or should I go ahead and and switch it. Also, is it better to go to say one of the All Stars or POFQ? Help!!!

Yes.. but with any special offer (Free Dining, PIN offer etc) ... if that offer isn't available for your new dates.. you may have to pay more than you expected.

1. May as well wait for the offer before switching.

2. POFQ will cost more.. but by the time you add the upgrade of QD to DDP... then.. it's probably kind of a wash. So where do you want to stay?

I already have a package booked at Pop 10/7-10/12 with QSDP. I am a Dvisa card holder but did not use it to pay anything towards this vacation. if Dis rolls out FD promo for DVisa card holders for the time of my stay, can I make a payment on my package to qualify for the promo?
