**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

Chelsi & other Swolphin Event Seekers,
I emailed Mr Sweeney & received an immediate response. He confirmed my reservation & the Mixology Seminar!

Unfortunately I'm not having the same luck. I got a response that said what I received as a receipt was very confusing but I wasn't the only one who didn't understand it.:confused3

I'm trying to decide if I want to order the $50 all you can eat/drink ticket for the Swolphin event or just buy the $2 tickets.
We aren't going to attend any of the classes, so that won't play into our decision but does anyone know if each $2 ticket purchases a drink or a food sample, or will it take several $2 tickets for some purchases?

We will have already attended on the the French Regional lunches earlier, so I'm not sure how much we will eat or drink........yeah, right!

We went to the Food and Wine festival last year and thought there would be a large store area to purchase wine. Does anyone know if there is one? We couldn't find it. I was hoping to find some rare bottles I couldn't get locally.

Thanks for your help.

The wine market will be in the Festival Center at the Pavilion Formerly Known as the Wonders of Life, not in the World Showcase itself.

They have a good number of bottles but I don't think they've been selling anything particularly rare lately.

Thank you for the information. We walked around for ever last year looking and even asked 2 cast members. They kept directing us back to the World Showcase. Now I know. Thanks again.

We bought a bottle of win in the cutest cat bottle at the Festival last year. They had it in several colors. I still regret not getting the one I really wanted and buying only the white one that my SO liked. LOL! Maybe they'll have them again this year. We didn't buy this particular one for the wine so much as the bottle! (They weren't expensive.) But then we aren't big alcohol drinkers. We tend to prefer fruit wines from private little wineries.

I heard a nasty rumor that DVC members will NOT get a discount this year for the daily seminars.....say it's not true...
If this has been addressed in a earlier post, I apopogize....

First time I've seen that rumor.

This is such a "bad" thread....We could not resist. We were coming up for the 9th, so we booked the Food & Wine Classic for the 8th.....

More fun awaits.

Frinds of ours ,that live in Celebration City, e-mailed me today....hope it's not true, guess we will see when the seminars are posted.

On that topic, when do they generally post more specific information on the seminars?

I've been waiting for this information as well. I thought I read somewhere that these tickets would be released on August 26th. Do you think we should call Member Services and see if they know anything about them??

Also, curiosly I've never bought these tickets before as it was always a first come/first served basis. If you have a ticket in your hand, does that guarantee you a seat and not require you to line up 1+ hours in advance?

Yes, that was the only benefit to the new pre-sale seminar tickets started last year. You could arrive minutes before and got your seat. I recall many of the sessions selling out so if you don't book on-line, you will need to get to the festivsal center early the day you are interested in the seminar. I think once they sell out on-line, you can only buy remaining tickets day of at the festival center.

Thanks so much for the input. I'm hoping to snatch these tickets at least for one or two of the wine deminars to take my sister. It'll be her first time to F&W and I'd love for her not to have to spend it in line.

I'm still going to call Member Services in the hopes that I find a CM who may know something about buying these tickets in advance. I'm happy to pay full price for them as time is worth $$...right???

Nobody you call at WDW, Member Services or CRO, is likely to know anything about the seminar tickets as they are handled at a different department entirely. All we know right now is early booking for at least TIW and AP and maybe DVC on 8/26, booking for everyone on 8/28. You will be able to buy them online only, not by phone (if it's like last year) and we will have the link up in the first post once we find out what it is.

Eight days away from booking, and no schedule yet. Will have to make up our minds fast! Was it this short of turnaround last year?

This will be our first trip for the Food and Wine Festival. Does someone have a list of what seminars were offered last year, so I might get an idea of what is offered?

Chelsi & other Swolphin Event Seekers,

Kabuki again comes to my rescue!!:goodvibes!

Happy to help and that all was in order!
Can't wait - this should be a fun time!:woohoo:

Well, I guess I had good cause to worry when I didn't receive my email last week... The girl who took my reservation did not book the package, even though she went back and forth with her supervisor about it. I only have a room and the Sat. Night Mixology class is SOLDOUT as of this morning! :drinking1

If I'm lucky they could have a cancellation, but until then, I have booked the Friday night class!

On Saturday, I'll be the face on the outside smushed against the glass and waving to all the partyers on the inside! :wave2:
