**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

Thanks for everyones gift card help- sounds like the way we will go! I guess couple more questions:
Is it smaller than a normal giftcard?
I assume it has a hole punched in it, unlike normal gift cards, so the wrist strap can attach?
Anyone happen to have a photo of one?

I know someone posted a photo in this board about a week back... Yes they are small, maybe 3/4 of the room key size and the wrist band is already attached.

Could someone PLEASE tell me the secret to making a reservation for the dinner wine events? We have called EVERY year for 9 years and only once were able to get an Exquisite Evenings dinner. EVERY time we either get a busy (despite clng PROMPTLY at 7 AM of the 1st day) or we have been put on hold for 48 minutes only to be told 'all full.'

The wristlet portion is about 2x2"

This is one from 2 years ago ...

It comes as a full card but can be split for wrist wearing, very convenient.

I usually have 2 phones going, a speaker (land line) and a cell. I call the first time about 1 minute prior and then just keep hitting the redial button. It's a hit and miss that's for sure. Unfortunately there are no waitlists anymore. We used to get the Exquisite Evenings that way. Now you pay when you book and that's final. You can't cancel and let someone else have a chance to book. :sad2:

Good Luck!

Does this event mean we wont learn anything until after this event?!

Chelsi - I was just about to come and post that too. I think they will still release info in a trickle, but if you would like to get it all in one place, the dinner might be the place to be.

If we go should I take a tape recorder? ;)

This looks cool.. I wish I could do it!

YES! PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Bwahaha Elin, that's funny! :rotfl: I don't know the first thing about shorthand other than some man named Gregg is famous for it!

Ahhh... but at least you know who invented it and how to spell his name!! :thumbsup2

I wonder if anyone still uses it?? I never learned... no need for it, I guess. But I have often wished I had because my brain seems to work faster than my body these days.

The problem getting thru is there is a bunch of voice response buttons to push first ie. press 1 for this and 2 for that. By the time you finish that stuff you get a busy. And yes, I have used 2 phones - land line and cel. No difference, still cannot get thru. Somebody must get thru but it sure isn't me!!

They can't be loaded at the food booths. I would get it and load it the first time at the Festival Center too as BriarRosie suggested. That way it's ready to use once you get over to World Showcase.

One minor change to this, you can load them at the food booths, we did it last year!

I was going to say, "Yes you can reload the card at the kiosks!" but with some exceptions. Like France. I was able to reload my card at another kiosk when there was an Epcot cast member working the kiosk. (By that, I mean a cast costume that featured a shirt with flags of the world on it.) But at France, one of the International Program cast members was working the kiosk, and she told me she couldn't do it. I didn't contradict her that it was possible, because I think she just wasn't trained to do it and/or didn't bother to ask someone else how to do it.

We ran into the same problem at the Canada kiosk last year. So, I think it may be possible, but not always doable. :thumbsup2

Oh dear, I'm wondering if I should even bother trying.

If you want something you have to try! Remember how that sleestak disconnected me after I got through right at 6AM last year? I still got what I wanted ... 45 minutes and three phones later. :rotfl2:

I had to be a little flexible with some of my dates but otherwise it was fine.

The key once you get through is to book the event you want that is most likely to sell out the fastest and work your way down the list from there.

I agree that you should prioritize your requests. In all cases, I think Party for the Senses should be the last thing on anyone's list due to the large crowd capacity.

I agree with the prioritizing requests etc. My problem is I just can't get thru even in the first 2-3 hours!!!! I really don't see how some can and others can't. Last year I got thru 1 1/2 hrs later (8:30AM) I tried booking a dinner(tried 3 different ones), a luncheon(2), and sweet Sundays (2) and couldn't get any of them. Finally took PFTS for the umteenth time. Loved it but the other stuff was exasperating to say the least.
