2010 dISBrides what have you planned?

When I went to my planning session, I gave them a picture I had found in a wedding magazine. It had the sugar crystals on it in the picture.

Are you having a wishes wedding or escape? If you are doing a wishes, the minimum cake size is 50 people. I only had 30 at my wedding, but still had to go with the larger cake.

OMG! Really? I am doing a wishes wedding but only for 15 people... cake for 50 people will be huge!

Do they make exceptions?

seeing as some 2010 brides are nearing the one year mark... I thought I'd bump this thread up to see if there are any newer disbrides or disgrooms planning a 2010 wedding and what have you ladies (or gents) planned! We just called DFTW today, someone will be in contact with us next week! Woohoo! :goodvibes

I'm hoping for a March 2011 wedding. I've got a couple of ideas as to what I want to do, but nothing major, as I'm sure a lot of you can agree, I don't want to get my hopes up too soon, and find when the 12 month out mark rolls around that I can't afford it, or the place I've got my heart set on is booked for a conference or so on and so on...

So will they only give you all of the options once you've booked? Or will they give them to you somewhere between the 18 and 12 month mark??

We're looking at an August 5, 2010 Wishes wedding. It's absolutely KILLING me that I can't book for another 9 months! Being able to look at everything here on the boards has really helped, like therapy! It's nice to see a lot of other 2010 brides planning away also!

Hi everyone! I'm also a 2010 bride. We're planning for an escape at Sunset Pointe on Dec 10, 2010! I would love to have a wishes but DF really wants a casual wedding and loves Sunset Pointe, and thinks it will save money:laughing: . Little does he know with all this time to plan I will have the most elaborate escape wedding ever:lmao:. The ceremony will just be our immediate family (parents, siblings, and grandparents- which totals 8) but we have a few other family members that just couldn't accept they couldn't come so we will be having a big family dinner at O'Hana for 25-30 people, with a wishes celebration cruise after for just our immediate family again. So far I have started on a newsletter that I plan to send out 18 months in advance with general info so people can start planning. For my colors I plan on fuschia and a leaf green (think tropical christmas) with touches of silver and maybe a little orange thrown in to keep it tropical. With escape I don't get many options but know I want the tropical boquet but to change the colors to fuschia roses and mango calla lillies (keeping the green orchids). I'll have to see what my cake options are in 2010 but would love the mad hatter cake- we'll have to see if the $ is worth it. I have also made mock-ups of invites (fashioned after yours Tammy :thumbsup2 ). We have decided we want 2 weeks at Disney staying at Carribean Beach Dec 2-9 and then switching to Poly on the 9-16 for our Disneymoon:banana: I have tons of other ideas but too many to list here! How soon is too soon to start a PJ? We are going to Disney in 19 days so I plan to get more ideas! I am driving poor DF crazy with all my plans that are too early to become a reality :rotfl: so thanks for letting me rattle off my dreams (they have all been inspired by these boards:love: ) I look forward to following all your weddings!:yay:

Its nice to see other 2010 brides joining the planning process!:goodvibes Looking forward to following everyone plans from beginning .... Adelia, my mock invite was similar to other disbrides that I really liked, glad to share. Have fun planning everyone! Can't wait to hear everyones plans!:goodvibes

Yahoo! I'm one of those 2010 brides nearing the one year mark! We're planning on Jan 24, 2010 :cool1:

Though after reading this thread I feel so far behind. We have our locations (Welcome Dessert Party - French Arm, Wedding Pavilion, Napa Room - Cali Grill) sorta figured out (we keep changing, it!) and I'm working out my STDs. We're inviting over 100 people :scared1: but expecting only about 30 or so to come.

Unfortunately, so far most of our planning has been drama-averting, and not much is getting done. :headache: The year mark is really creaping up!

Love seeing everyone's plans! Keep it coming... more for me to steal :lmao:

I just looked back through the thread and "wow "-there are a number of people out there planning for 2010. I was pleasantly surprised! I hope everyone gets the dates they are hoping for... good luck with all your planning!:goodvibes

Hi everyone! Ive been mia for awhile, school and work have been keeping me occupied. I cant believe that 2010 brides are approaching the 1 year mark... where has the time gone? All I know is that I cant wait for Dec 11, 2010 (my date) and planning along with all the other 2010 brides! :bride: :cloud9:

I feel so disorganised reading about everyone's plans! DF and I are planning an April 28th 2010 wedding and we have already contacted DFTW. I've found them to be really helpful and willing to answer any and all questions I have - no matter how ridiculous! I can't wait until I get my date confirmed so I can start to do some proper planning!

Hello everyone! Last year my df and I went to Disney world to celebrate our four year anniversary. On Valentines Day he surprised me with a wishes cruise, and a proposal! We set our date for December 14 2010! I’m hoping for a ceremony at the yacht club gazebo and a dessert party somewhere in Epcot. Other than that I’m not too sure! I CAN’T wait to start planning! I called Disney a few months back to ask if there was anything I could start doing or anything they would send me, but I had already received the DVD and started my wish book! I was wondering if any of you know what they do send you after you’ve actually started the planning process? I hope it is something a little more thorough than the initial DVD. Everyone’s plans sound wonderful and I’m so happy that there are so many of us planning Christmas weddings/vow renewals! We can share lots of ideas as the next few years progress!!!!

:cutie: YEA! 2010 Brides! :bride:

I'm really glad that this thread in here. We're planning on a Disney wedding in California (what's the acronym for that? I'm a newb) for Oct. 2010.

As for planning, I just have an idea of what to get the bridal party for gifts, how I want the invitations, sort of an idea of my dress should look like,...oh! Colors! I know we want black and powder pink. Black bridesmaid dresses and the pink is the secondary color. AND I'm having a mad-hatter cake. But, that's all I know!
