How do you get the 40% off discount? Just by calling? I looked through the pages trying to figure it out and couldn't see if I need to call or if there is a code I need or if it is still going on?? And is it only good at SOG or all Disney Hotels?

Yes, you can just call and ask for the military room discount, you can add the dining plan if you like without buying tix with them with this offer. There is a code around but I didn't need it when I booked. And it's for all disney hotels, NOT SOG, they do their own thing.

i tried searching the thread for an answer to my question, but no luck.
my dad is USN Ret.
i was wondering if i can purchase the Armed Forces salute tix at a base outside of Florida. i am in California, and wondering if the $99/4 day tix's would be available at any of the bases in San Diego...Miramar, 32nd AFB, or Camp Pendleton, etc...?
tia!

We've bought tickets through Camp Pendleton before and they will FedEx them for $8. The nearest ITR to us is a 2 hour drive so it's easier for me to order by phone through them. You can just call them. They do state they have to order WDW tickets though and to give them up to 2 weeks to send them.

But he can also just buy them at SOG. No need to go to a FL base.

regards

I cannot answer about SoG.

However, he must be present to purchase and activate the tickets. However, he does not have to have the entire party with him at the ticket window. Also, the tickets may be used any four days from date of activation thorugh September 30, 2010.

This year we are not going but I wanted to gift my niece and her mom with a ticket. So I can just have him buy them, activate and give it to her to go at her leisure and she won't need us at all again to use them? That is great news!

I thought last year there was so much confusion over having the entire party there to activate them, last year we were going with her so it didn't matter.

thanks everyone for all the replies! i had my mom contact one of the bases here in SoCal. the person who answered didn't know much...said it was a new promotion and that he would call back with all the info & prices. he did mention that it was $7 to have the ticket vouchers fedex to us. hope to get a call back by tomorrow...if not, i'll have her call Camp Pendleton.
she's coming along with us, so she can activate our tickets :yay:

Someone with the military ID needs to be there to activate them. They aren't activated when you purchase. You either have to go to one of the parks or DTD to get them activated. Once activated the military person doesn't have to go.

I do understand that part, sorry I left that out. :) He is either going to buy them at the gate and suck up the tax or buy them at mwr and activate them at DTD guest relations. I just know we will not and cannot be there when she uses them.

I know this may have been answered already, so forgive me if I am being redundant, but... I am going on a last minute trip with my son and DIL because my grandson (7) broke his arm and they had to cancel their Mardi Gras break ski trip. There will be 6 of us. My husband is retired but not going with us. I have a valid retired spouse I.D. and I already have an annual pass for myself. Can I purchase the tickets for my son, DIL, and 3 grandchildren using my spouse dependant I.D?

My DH is an in the Active Reserves, but not activated, and we used this deal last summer and have plans to use it again this summer. We had no problems. Does your DH have a CAC card? That's all he needs.

Yes he does, thanks a bunch! Waiting til the beginning of June is better for us then spring break, this will help in the planning!

we are planning a trip in May and are going to be getting the $99 tickets and want to add the WPF&M option, but a little confused, so I need help! With this option we can use 4 days in major parks and then how many days do we have in waterparks/disneyquest. If anyone can explain this to me please help!
Thanks!

This is a "canned" response modified for the Armed Forces Salute 2010 tickets with the assumption you have both the Park Hopper and Water Park Fun and More (WPF&M) options.

Hopefully this will make it a little clearer. In effect you have two tickets with different privileges on one card. Everything expires at Midnight on September 30, 2010. Even if you use up all your major park days, the WPF&M entries remain valid until used or 09/30/10. (Note you do not have to use the days consecutively.)

You have four days of access to the four major parks (AK, DHS, EC, MK), and may visit more than one major park on a single day without any extra charges. Without the Park Hopper option you can only go to one major park per day.

You have four entries to the minor parks (BB, DQ, OT, TL, WWS). These may or may not be used on the same days as you go to the major parks. However, if you went to TL in the morning, Oak Trail in the afternoon, and Disney Quest in the evening of one day you would have used three of the four entries. (Note that leaving and returning to the same minor park on the same day does not use an extra entry.)

If you go to minor parks only on one day and do not go to a major park you do not use up one of your major park days.

If you were to go to a Water Park in the morning and then one of the major parks for the remainder of the day you would have used one minor park entry and one day of major park entry.

Note that with the ticket unless you have the hopper option you can only go to one major park per day. Unless you have the WPF&M option you cannot go to a minor park without upgrading or purchasing a separate ticket.

Does any one know if you can use a GAD ticket to upgrade to the military ticket at WDW? I know that you have to pay tax that way but don't know if you can do that or have to get the military tickets at a base prior to going to the park.

This last is a very tricky question and I cannot give any direct answer other that on a day I am working at a ticket booth or Guest Relations I would do the upgrade.

My personal interpretation is that promotional tickets are those whose basic nature says that no upgrades or modifications are permitted. This would include Touch of Magic, Hospitality Days, YES Program, and Complimentary tickets issued for Guest Recovery or given to a non-profit organization for distribution or sale.

The procedures for the GAD ticket allow full value ($79 adult/$68 child) of a one-day, one-park ticket for upgrading to any ticket which a person is eligible to purchase.

The procedures for the Armed Forces Salute are any non-promotional tickets may be used to upgrade to the Armed Forces Salute tickets.

We just returned from Disney on the 6th. DFIL/MIL purchased 4 of these tickets to use back to back...which they did with no problem. They have 3 days remaining and plan to meet us in September on our next trip.

We will be taking DBIL/SIL and DFIL was wondering if he can purchase 2 more tickets (for a total of 6 and prior to July 31st) or should he have done it all at the same time?

Thank you so much!:goodvibes

I already bought four $99 tickets and all of a sudden we have an extra day or two SO is it possible to somehow add WP&M option to it? How do I do that?! Is it possible to have it added AT Disney or throught the phone? Hoping I won't have to go back to MWR!
CHEERS!:goodvibes

Is there any way to know what other CM's may do? Here is my dilema:

We were going to purchase the 4 day tickets and add on the WPM option for our 5 day trip. We did the GAD volunteer work and will now have that voucher as well. I was going to get the FP option for us at three of the parks (3 of us volunteered). Now you indicate that we may be able to apply the GAD voucher value towards our salute tickets.

I would love to do this to save some money, however I'm afraid that if we redeem our vouchers and go to guest relations to have it applied to the cost of our $99 tickets they will tell us they can't. Now I would be out of our FP option and we now have 5 day tickets, esentially losing a day since we are ging to a WP this trip.

Does this make sense? Is there anyway to know before hand how it would be handled? I don't want to lose out on a day / FP option if not everyone handles how you would. Maybe I should just get the $99 tickets and use GAD for the FP option to play it safe..............

When you are at WDW you can add the WPM on, at any time. They can't do it on the phone or back at MWR.
