Tonight is the big night! Who will be the big winner? I'm hoping Avatar takes Best Picture (with a nod to District 9 and Up as sentimental favorites). Can't wait to see Steve MArtin and Alec Baldwin host. Should be a good night!

I'm very excited that a director I worked with a while back is up for a Best Director award this year, I couldn't be happier for her.

agnes!

I am really looking forward to seeing Alec and Steve ( we're BFFs hence the first name only ;) ) in their hosting duties. I think Steve is my favorite host ever. I'm hoping anything but Avatar wins for Best Picture. To quote my facebook review of that movie: Stink, Stank, Stunk.

I saw Precious the other night, at least. (I was slightly disappointed.)

DH and DS saw Avatar.

DH and I at one time used to try and see all the movies that were up for major awards. These days I'm lucky if I've seen one or two.

I've barely seen any of the movies up for Best Picture. Only Up, Up in the Air and The Blind Side.:headache:

I am still very excited to see the red carpet and Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin hosting!:goodvibes

I'll be watching too. Love Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. The only nominated movie I've seen so far is Up. The only others that I may see are Avatar and maybe Up in the Air, but not before tonight ;) I haven't been able to watch the whole show for the last few years because of DSS's hockey, so I'm looking forward to it tonght. Will everyone be watching the Red Carpet shows as well?

Red Carpet is usually the best part, bring on the gowns!

I agree!!!!
Anxious to see Steve & Alec together:cool1:

We saw almost all the movies (at home) because my niece is a SAG member & received the DVDs weeks ago. All I can say is Avatar was horrible.
If it wins I hope we don't have to deal with the "King of the World" for the next 10 years!

Oh, I might have to watch tonight just to watch Steve Martin. The awards shows were so much better when Billy Crystal did them :lmao:.

Dh and I keep saying we need to find the old Steve Martin albums for our kids to listen to. I think he and Robin Williams are the 2 funniest people on the planet.

Yep Steve and Robin are THE BEST!:thumbsup2 I am hoping for Sandra Bullock to win, as far as movies....??? Didn't see any of them...tried watching Inglorious but only watched an hour and sent it back to Netflix.:confused3 Have NO desire to see Avatar, and UP sounds depressing...:headache:

I loved Inglorious but then I'm a fan of several in the film (was beyond suprised to see Eli Roth and he quickly became a favorite and rooting for them to win supporting actor).

I hope Sandra Bullock wins. I saw Julie and Julia and thought Meryl Streep did a great job as Julia Child but I still would like to see Sandra win. I also hope Up wins best animation, loved that movie and I also loved Avatar. I'm mainly looking forward to the Red Carpet.

I'm rooting for the Hurt locker. Avatar was good but I thought it was a very predictable plot. The special effects is what the big draw was.

I agree though, my favorite part is the red carpet

Been watching coverage since 2:00 :goodvibes I've seen all ten movies... yay!! My fave was Precious, so I'm rooting for that and The Hurt Locker.

I will have to keep up on this thread because we have Cablevision and ABC is blocked right now. I'm hoping they unblock it by 8:00 but I'm not holding my breath. Do you think ABC.com will stream it? I really want to see Steve Martin.

I was unemployed last year and saw ALL of the movies!! This year only TWO!

I loved Avatar and District 9, I'm sure one has a MUCH better chance.. :lmao:

I cannot stand Monique or the whole premise of Precious so I stayed away from it.:scared:
