2009 WISH Team Marathon Weekend Meets

Most likely I will be able to pop in at the Boardwalk Bakery Monday morning - we are staying at the Dolphin Saturday and Sunday night and will be checking out on Monday to go to the Pop for 2 nights (and the start of our WDW trip that YIKES I have done no planning for)

Dadgum! I just realized I'll be at the "Eat-and-Greet Sports Experience" Friday from 5-6:30PM, but I'll see some of the WISHers at Test Track at EPCOT on Friday and I'll have to catch up with the rest of you later at the Boardwalk Bakery on Monday -- if not at the races. (I plan to be there for sure!!!)

I called POP today to warn them of the lime green invasion next Friday. They said they will be ready!

OMG! The world might end. Dave and I are planning to be at the same place at the same time!!! Actually, I think we probably were in the same place at the same time during the 07 marathon - we just didn't know it. Not that I was up for chatting at that time.

Looking forward to seeing you Dave. Since you were the one that caught my message on the main DIS Board and sent me here, I kind of consider you responsible.

The new drugs kicked in last night and I am starting to feel like the real me. Even my kids could tell a difference. So there is hope for me survivng Goofy after all!

Greetings everyone: I mentioned before that I plan on coming to the POP Meet at 4:30p on Friday. I hope it's OK, but I invited a guest. Kathy Werling (screen name safetymom) will be coming from the DIS Unplugged podcast. I'm doing a segment on the marathon, and Kathy is going to come along to take photos. I thought the WISH meet would be a great way for her to talk with people and learn what we're all about.

I have to admit my lameness in not attending any of the meets and apologize to all. I am making a commitment to myself to attend as many meets as possible if and when I sign up for another WDW marathon weekend – I said to myself that this was my final Goofy but only 6 days later I feel a bug crawling up my leg. I thing the bug is returning because I know I can do much better and I know that a 3:40 or 3:50 marathon is a very real and attainable goal – heck, I was on a 3:40 pace up to mile 15 when the cramps hit me. If I could just concentrate on my training – no longer run than 18 miles for this year’s Goofy, and that was only once and no back to back long training runs – I could complete the task. I think I just discovered why I have been feeling like crap since Sunday last; a task undone leaves a feeling of emptiness. Hmmm, need to talk to DW about my return for 2010.

I saw Butch after the marathon. He was complaining that I wasn't hobbling, and he couldn't walk at my pace. I then did my Pinocchio impersonation of "I got no strings" and danced and jumped for Butch. I think he hates me. LOL .
