2009 points if I buy a "non-active" resort add-on?

I am considering purchasing 50 points for VWL through Disney and was wondering if I would get 2009 points if I added on (we have a December use year). I have been looking at the resales for some time now and nothing has come up that matches what we want. I know I generally would get the points if I bought BLT, SSR or AKV but I didn't know if it applied to resorts that aren't actively being sold. I know it is possible Disney won't have points available to sell but since we would be buying so few, I don't think it will be much of an issue. If we wouldn't get the 2009 points, it would be difficult to justify buying through Disney as the price per point versus resale would be just too high.

Yes. Members with an October or December Use Year will still get 2009 points with an add-on purchase (or a new purchase) ... and MS has been allowing members to bank those points beyond the usual banking deadline. That was not always the case, but it has been relaxed for awhile now.

You should as long as you add on prior to Dec 1st and providing they have Dec UY points available.

Sometimes, they are out of a UY for sold out resorts and they put you on a wait list until they get more. But, from what I have read, this seems to happen more often with BCV than other resorts.

I added on 75 BCV points last yr in Nov. I have a Dec use yr. At first they tryed to make like they may not have 2009 pts. So I told them I may as well wait since I didn;t really need them tet. When they realized I wasn't going to buy "they suddenly hed 2009 pts" So make sure you get them. They also let me bank them.

I am the OP and after reading your comments went and added on 50 points at VWL Dec UY and got the 2009 points banked. Next ix a 50 point add-on for BCV!!!! Thanks for the help!
