2009 Pin Code Offer

I just received an offer for 30% off all three Disney properties this year. There are specific dates, but it pretty much goes on all year. I did notice the month of October is blacked out. This must be because it is now considered a higher volume time to go.

I am tentatively planning on September. Has anyone else received this pin code offer yet? If so, does it only apply to the room, or the entire package (tickets included)?

OOOOOHhhhh, thanks for telling us, Heather! I have NOT yet received a PIN offer, but given the randomness of who received them last summer when they went out, I could very easily not get one this time. As it was, the one last year was mysteriously e-mailed to my friend's name at MY e-mail address, even though my friend has never reserved a DLR room in her life! So you are saying the offer goes all the way to December (but select days in December?) and just skips October, or does it only go up to October and then stop?

I figured they would be doing more PIN code offers in 2009 because of the recession, but I didn't realize they would start so early. I remember you made a reservation, Heather, but didn't you end up having to cancel? I can't recall. Maybe they are trying to rope you back in. And I am sure it just the hotel room and not a package with tickets. They have already got the What Will You Celebrate thing/birthday admission going on this year, as well as the get in for the kids' price, so I doubt they would allow tickets into the PIN code offer.

Yes, unfortunately we had to cancel because my grandma was sick. We used our DL money to travel up to AK for a couple weeks. This actually happened during the exact same time we were scheduled to go on our DL trip. So, we are going to try again this year. The hotel has to be booked by March 31, 2009.

The dates you can use it are: Jan. 4-Feb. 19. Feb. 22-Mar.12. April 26-May29. Aug. 30-Oct. 2. Nov.1-19. Dec. 1-17. Each one has a disclaimer saying "for stays most nights" during those times though.

I am figuring we will save $600 at least. I did not include our tickets in that figure, and I was being conservative. This will help tremendously.

I got this offer in the mail yesterday too. Not sure how these get sent. This is our first time getting a pin code for DL. We did get a couple pin code offers for WDW after we cancelled a trip there last year so you could be on something Sherry E. We also stayed at the resort hotels 2x last year so maybe that helped.

I like that they are offering dates as far out as December. I might lock these in and then change if they offer AP nights (pretty sure we be getting APs again). I think AP nights are still a better deal but hard to plan for.

I got my offer via postal mail. It was a 4 part fold out card from Disney Destinations and it had printed in red, above my address "Limited Time offer inside!" Then, underneath that is my pin code so it is pretty hard to mistake for junk mail.

The offer has to be booked by 3/31/09 and is valid for up to 2 rooms. I am trying to work out my December 09 dates right now so I can at least lock this up for DLH. Based on what the website was quoting for rack rates during this time, the 30% off makes the room rate about $189. Not as good as the "AP nights" rate but better than nothing. It will make me feel better getting something booked now as I am still a little sad we decided against a spur of the moment New Years trip and I am dying to start planning a Disney trip.

Hope others start getting this offer too!

I also got the card in the mail. What kind of discounts do you recieve with your AP? We want to go in the summer and my husband and i want to stay at DLH. Do you normally get more than 30% off? I should just call.

Me too! I got all sorts of WDW offers up the wazoo in 2008, but only one DLR pin code offer that came via email in the summer, and it had my friend's name on it. I am not sure if I will get one this time or not! They seem to be very random in who they send them to.

I also wondered if the PIN discount would exceed or equal the AP discounts/rates when they come out, and it sounds like they won't. Then again, we have no clue what kinds of AP rates will be available throughout 2009. I would bet that DLR will agree to charge (one night paid up front) the initial 30%-off PIN code deal price for any AP holders who happen to book it, and then IF an AP rate comes along that is better, they will probably adjust the price to the lower rate. It seems as though they have told other DIS'ers they would do that with other deals.

I am just surprised that they are offering these lower rates SO early in the year, not even waiting to see how the year unfolds attendance-wise, but based on how much availability they had at all 3 hotels during the holiday season, I can see they are trying to ensure they have a packed house in December! And IF I were to get the PIN code offer myself, I would probably go ahead and book one of those December times.

With an AP you normally just get 10% off the rack rate but if they offer an AP Night, your discount is even better. Right now the AP8 rate (current AP nights rate code) at DLH for a standard room is $149 for most nights through mid February. That is much better than the standard AP discount and also better than the 30% off rack rate pin code that is coming to some of us.

However, if your plans are to go in the summer, chances are there will not be any AP Nigths offered and even this pin code offer seems to excude summer dates. There are no dates available with this pin code from May 30th through August 29th (basically the whole summer).

Yes unfortunately summer is usually not offered with a discount but I was once able to get a good deal on the dlh through expedia for the beginning of August.

Generally in the summer, the best you can do at the DLR hotels is the std AP discount of 10% off per room.
