The Halmark 2009 Dreambook is now on the website. There are some good Disney ornies PLUS a Twilight Zone TV for TOT fans

There are lots of ones I like this year! I swear Hallmark knows how to make me hand over my wallet almost as well as Mickey does! ;)

I saw the Dream Book online the other day. There are a lot of ornaments I want...again. I am for sure getting the mini set of the Disney fairies!

I collect 3 series, the oldest being the Frosty Friends which are having the 30th year ornament this year. I look forward to the new ornaments more than I do the actual holiday.

That has got to be the WORST shortened word I've ever seen here.

Was wondering if I was the only one thinking that. Has it really become a "word" that's now commonly used?

I collect the Frosty Friends too. :) I don't have all of them - I started with the 1989 ornament and have gotten them every year since. Hmmm, so they started in 1979? I'm missing 10 years!

Well, I started collecting these in 1989 because that's the year I started my DH's (fiance at the time) nickname of "eskimo". :lovestruc

I have never heard of it.

I personally am not a fan of vaca, ressies, etc.

Maybe I am just getting old and cranky and don't see the cuteness or purpose in that kind of thing...:rotfl:

Well maybe the op had brain freeze and forgot how to spell ornaments, it happens to me all the time. :rolleyes1

The first year is 1980 and it's my favorite out of the series. I think it's worth about $700 now; I know the first five are all worth quite a bit. There are also 2 stocking hangers that came out in the early 80's too. You can all of your missing ones on ebay.

And I've never heard them called ornies either.

Sorry, but just like Disney has a cult following, so does Hallmark.

They have a collectors club and conventions that are held in major cities bi-annually. There are members who have thousands of ornaments (some solely collect Hallmark, others collect anything Christmas). In any case they all call ornaments "ornies". I know this because my mom has been collecting forever. Its her thing. I have Disney and spend my money there, she has "ornies" and some of the best decorated Christmas trees I have ever seen!

Its kind of funny because if I try to explain the "DIS" or "DISSING" to her (or many other people in my real life who don't do or get Disney) or use any of a half dozen acronyms/abbreviations used on these boards, she would have no idea what I was talking about :rotfl: To each club/group their own

Add me to the old and cranky list.

souvies (souvenirs), preggo(pregnant), There is one other I”ve seen posted on the resturatnt board, it’short for breakfast, but I have no idea how to spell it.

The word ornaments never crossed my mind when I read the thread title. Two things did cross mind.

A. Why did the OP spell orgies wrong?
B. When did Hallmark get into the orgies business.

I collect the "Nostalgic Shops & Houses" series. I've got all the regular ornaments in the series, and I THINK I have all the "extras" (it took me a few stops last year to get the special "Mayor's House"). I could go nuts over the Hallmark ornaments; there are always lots I want, but I try to keep it down. ;)

I was looking for a list of cities and dates :rolleyes1

No, I'm just kidding I knew exactly what the OP meant

Hmm... I wanted to start a series for Lucas but now I'm torn between the new Disney Christmas Carol series or the Festive Santa series...
