Info on the DDP board indicates that Free DDP will change significantly for 2009. Apparently the UK Free DDP packages have been announced (they are always announced earlier than the US packages), and they seem to indicate this:

Values - NO free DDP
Mods - free CS DDP only
Deluxe - free basic DDP

ETA: Last year, UK customers were not able to get free DDP for values either, but they did get basic DDP for Mods. It's hard to imagine Disney giving the UK customers only CS DDP and giving other customers basic DDP, but they could offer CS DDP for values for US customers. That would not be as radical a change.

Obviously, none of this will be official until it's official.

It's not a given that the US plans will be the same as the UK, but they are usually pretty close.

Well, I must say, that seems to make good business sense! I am actually surprised that "free" dining has continued as long as it has.

Dates were also different for UK and US. US had shorter dates. I think ticket purchase requirements were differnet also.

That said I agree that the plans themselves will be the same. If UK only gets the CS plan assume that's all that the US will get. We may get Values and we will probably get different dates.

As soon as I saw the (seemingly high) CS plan price of $29. I was sure it was for packages, allowing an easy upsell to the basic DDP.

I'm thinking US will get CS at values and mods, DDP at deluxe and a shorter timeframe than UK. As long as they can fill the resorts, they don't have to make the offers as "sweet" as they once seemed.
