2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

Anyone getting itchy??? We decided to wait until 2009 because the girls will be 7 & 4, and hopefully whine-free :lmao: . But I keep thinking it's just too far away. There is NO chance of switching to 08, and I don't really want to switch, but it's just so far away (guess I'm becoming the whiner ;) )

We're going to Playhouse Disney this weekend...maybe that will be enough of a fix for me :goodvibes

I am! If they would let me book right now I would. It will be 22 months away on Monday.

As you can see in my signature, we be on DCL on December 27, 2008 for our first ever New Year's Eve cruise. We will disembark the cruise on January 3, 2009 and checking in to WDW at hopefully Animal Kingdom Villa's for four nights. :dance3: :cheer2: :woohoo: WE CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!

We were at WDW in August and I am planning a huge family trip for 15 people the week of Thanksgiving 2009. I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking two years down the road. We will range in age from 70 to 8 and some of the family has never been to WDW before. I can't wait to share all of the fun with them! They just don't know what they have been missing!

I bet you guys will have a great time! You have a lot of work ahead of you if you are doing all the planning but it is fun work!

Hi friends!! I wanted to join this growing group. I convinced dh that we will do a trip in Jan 09!! :yay: Actually, he told friends today that we will be in WDW in Jan 09, and it made me smile. My kids will be 7 (dd) and 4(ds). It will be a first trip for ds. We talk about WDW so much, he thinks he's been there. He always says, "When we go back to Disney World..." :rotfl: Makes me laugh. Yippee yay!!

I see in sig that you were at POP in September 2006. So were we! When were you there? We were there the 24th - 30th.

We were at Pop right before you, Sept 17-22. I think... :confused3 It was a first trip for my family, and we fell in love with WDW. We did not fall in love with Pop, but that's another story.

We're really looking forward to WDW in Jan when the heat and humidity will not be so bad. This past Aug when it was just me and dh, we kept looking at each other saying that we would make our next trip in Jan.

Here's to happy planning! :wizard:

Oh, that will be so fun!! I went on a family trip like that at age 14. We had 10 people ages 4 - 55 and we went over Thanksgiving too. It was so much fun! I remember eating Thanksgiving dinner in the castle!

joining the 2009ers..... and it's KILLING me. We last went november 2006 and because we've sent the girls to private school this year we have to wait a bit before going back. It will be just over 2 years between visits, we're going again in Feb. 2009 even if I have to mortgage the house!!! Oldest dd will be just turning 16 then and I fear shortly after that she'll have a job and too many other things that won't allow her to go away, so it will be our last hurrah as a whole family, probably. Very sad on that.
Meanwhile I read the DIS boards daily to get my fix and try to get me through the next 15 months till we can go.

We are in the same boat. I like many of the posters here feel like I should be greatful we have even been able to go. We went this year (April) and it feels like it has been years already. It still amazes me that WDW is able to illicit such emotional turmoil.

Anyhow, we don't have definite plans, but my wife wants to go in three more years. Financially, she is probably about right as we have work to do on our house and my ds still has a 1 year 1/2 left in preschool (which would allow my wife to get more steady work).

It makes me sad to think that it could be 2010 before we go again. Spoiled I say, spoiled!! My daughter will be 9 and my son will be 6. Good ages for it, but I don't want to wait!!!!!

I feel the need to have a ticker for when I can make reservations :rotfl2: !!!!!!!!

Me too!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think my coworkers are going to duck tape my mouth when I start talking about my next vacation in 2009.
I am really trying to be able to go spring break of 2009, will depend on my school schedule though.

I just get the rolled eyes all the time from everyone. They always ask this is still 2009 you are talking about isn't it? Like I am not supposed to even be thinking that far in advance.

A co-worker of mine went last summer and didn't do any planning. They missed out on so much because of that. I tried to tell him but he didn't listen. Now when I mention something all I get is "I never saw that".

My sweet dh was looking at someones WDW pics online today and he told me, "It makes me realize how much I miss Disney." I know, I'm a lucky woman to be married to a Dis lover.

Since we're going in Jan 09, that makes our trip about 13 months away. That doesn't sound too bad does it???

HI ALL!!!!!!

I had the most amazing lunch today. Several teachers were absent, so a few subs sat with us today. Guess what the topic of choice was??? I heard more about Soarin' than I ever thought I'd hear. Lots of info on different resorts (haven't changed my mind though...Poly here we come :thumbsup2 ). The best part was that when I mentioned that I spend some time here, they didn't look at me like I had two heads...I know, hard to imagine, but I do get strange looks sometimes :confused3 .

guess it doesn't take much to get me goin', huh?????

I love it when you can steal a moment to get a "Disney fix" in the middle of the day.....:cloud9:

It is official, we are not going to Disneyworld over Christmas 2009 (sad because I would love to see Disney during the holidays). Instead we are going over spring break 2009:cool1: :cool1:
Had to come on and change my ticker a little over a year now instead of two years away
