2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

:thumbsup2
Hello my fellow Canadian! We live in Windsor, which area are you in?

We have gone on the Disney cruise during March break but this will be the first year we hit the parks at that time of year. We will be at OKW from Mar 8 to Mar 15. So I will be able to let you know then. We have been to Disney in Feb and July in the past.

Thanks for replying. I'll be anxious to hear about your trip. We are definately going next March break. We live in Whitby, Ontario. Are you doing the dining package? How many kids and how old are they? We have 2 girls, age 6 and 8 right now. They'll be 7 and 9 when we go.

What happened to us? We will be going March 09 for sure. Just waiting to hear when our March break will be before posting dates.

We will be doing the Disney cruise again for March break 09. The dates on the Ministry of Education site are out into 2009 now. I used that date to book the cruise and I will change it if necessary.

The break here usually falls around the 17th of March. Next year had it been the same week (Mar 9-15), would have been way to early. The site shows the break from Mar 16-20.

Will you drive or fly down?

fluke703 - my kids are DD12 and DD9 at this time. Our first trip with them, we had DD5 and DD18months. All the trips have been fun, but I like it a lot more the older they get.

We don't do the dinning package because we don't usually eat a sit down meal every day. If you plan to do that, the dinning package might be worthwhile.

We own the DVC (Disney Vacation Club) which is the Disney version of a time share and we just love it. You can look at renting from a member if you like a nicer hotel. You can see them on the Disney site as Disney Deluxe Villa resorts.

Let me know how your planning goes.

We just got back on Saturday and we are now going to plan to go back in January 2009! My DH is officially hooked! He loves it! Glad I found this thread because after only 1 day I am wishing I was back already!!!!!! :goodvibes :sad1:

Hmm, now I'm thinking a split stay. 5 nights at ASMo, and 5 at Beach Club.
Go from value to deluxe. :wizard:

Quoting myself, looking for help. I was thinking last night. We had decided if we switch resorts mid-stay it would be on the day Hubby is golfing. Does Disney help me with the move? We are not renting a car on this trip. I'm worried about handling all the luggage. And getting to Beach Club:confused3

From what I understand, they'll collect your bags just as if you're checking out (well, you are checking out!) and deliver them to your next resort. So you shouldn't have to do anything!

Does anyone know about when the rates for 2009 will come out? I know you can book now, but just wondering.

'09 rates will probably come out in August-ish.
Last year, '08 rack rates were released in early August.
In previous years, rates for the coming year were released in May.

Last year, packages were also released the same day as rack rates.
In previous years, packages were released a month or two after rack rates came out.

Last year codes (AP discounts, Canadian resident, ticket upgrades, Disney Rewards Visa holders,...) started coming out in October.
In previous years, these dates were all over the place!

Hey All... Im joining the 2009 plan-a-thon!!! :goodvibes

We had our tripped booked for Sept of this year at the Poly but the stork had other plans for us so it had to be cancelled! (baby's due date was on the first day of our trip) This would have been my sons first trip :( and now his little sister or brother had to ruin it!!!! :lmao: It STARTS!!! :lmao:

My DH & I are going to wait until next year to book our first family trip. Looking foward to joining the 2009 clan! Unfortunatley we have to wait until Jan to see when we can go because of DH's job but I would like to book late Sept/Oct or Nov/Dec...

Heres to 2009:cheer2: ... Hoping for better discounts then 2008 & maybe the year of a million dreams will be extended!!! (again) :dance3:

Yes, they will transfer all the luggage over for you. I thought this would be a pain but it was actually very easy. I took a cab from the All-Star Sports to AKL to check in, but you could easily take a bus to a park, then a bus from the park to the resort. I'd suggest bringing along a bag with your bathing suits and some essentials because it can take awhile to get your luggage.

We just came back from one night at Pop Century and then 6 nights at All-Star Sports (added extra day, but All-Star Sports was completely booked for the extra day that we wanted in the beginning of the trip!). We called luggage service the night before we were checking out of Pop to tell them to come and get our luggage at 8am the next morning. Told them we were transferring to All-Star Sports, then we took a cab to All-Star Sports to get our Keys to the World and to "check-in". Then we headed to the parks. We came back from the parks at 2pm and our luggage was waiting in our new room at All-Star Sports. VERY EASY! We could have taken a Disney Bus to another park, Downtown Disney, etc, but a cab from one to another was only $10.00, so for the convenience, it was worth it to us! Let me know if you have any other questions! :thumbsup2

Wait - they came and got your luggage? I didn't know they would do that! We lugged it to the lobby ourselves. That's good to know for the future - thanks!

CANDIZFAN - We plan on flying. I just have to check and see about prices to fly from Toronto or from Buffalo and any package deals. I want the Disney package. Do Canadian travel agents have any of these available or do you have to go through the States? I'm sure it will be cheaper from Buffalo for flying. Thanks for the dates for March break. Our board sometimes has the Friday before the full week off but don't think that will happen next year. Your time share sounds like a great way to go.

I know what you mean. I got a 40% off code for this year - of course I am not going to be able to use it. I know I won't be so lucky next year!

Just got a 20% off code for this year - and there is no way that we can use it, I believe that Disney did this to me on purpose - giving me a code for this year somehow knowing that I am not going to be able to use it. Plus the dates on the code match perfectly with my sons' spring break this year.

I got the 40% code also and it would be for the time we are going (if only it was in 2009). My luck I won't get anything next year. Oh well, I am budgeting for rack rates so that way I will have enough and hope for a discount so I have more shopping money.

I have talked my parents into going to the world with us for 12/28/09-1/4/10 and I was wondering about the deluxe rooms at WL. We know we will stay at WL, but wondered about the size of the deluxe room. DH, DS4, DS10, me and my parents will be staying. Anyone stayed in deluxe room at WL with 6 people. Also, I actually called WDW and they advised me that these deluxe rooms at WL are now Club Level. I know it will be cheaper than getting two regular rooms, but I just need to know about the space. Any help out there?

We are planning our trip for March 21-28, 2009. We are so excited to finally plan another trip. Our first trip was June 2005. We can't wait to see all the new attractions!
