how much extra to upgrade to Deluxe plan for adults & children p/day?
MYW Package with Dining says everyone must be included on the same dining plan and have the same ticket(s).
If I have an annual pass and want dining plan, how does that work for other people staying with me? We are 2 adults and I have the annual pass. Does the person with me have to purchase a ticket with the package or can they already have their own ticket?
Thanks!

Hopefully this the right place to ask this! My daughtyer and myself will be going to disney in Jan '10 for 8 nights. I'm trying to figure if we will get dining plan of sorts or not. I don't know if I'll buy a plan or not, am considering if they offer free dining. We got that last year and it was awesome! My main question is concerning the QSDP. If we got that plan, it would be about(30 x 8 nights, x 2 adults) 480.00 plus tax. Generally no tips with that plan, right? But, say we wanted to get a couple TS meals, such as Chef Mickey's or Le Cellier? Could we use a QS credit towards the meal and pay the extra the meal would cost over the $30 dollars, plus tip? Hmmm, now that I spell this out, it doesn't seem like something I see them allowing. But, does anyone know for sure?
Even if they did, I wonder if it'd be cheaper to just pay OOP for the CS meals we eat and the TS meals, or to even purchase the regular DDP? I wonder if we were doing QSDP, if it'd be a good deal or not? I have to wonder if everytime we got a QS meal, if we'd get the $15 per meal value I'd feel we should be to justify the cost? I'm sure that sometimes we've spent less than that at many of the simple QS meals for both of us to eat, say for a burger/fries/drink. Heck we often even just share a drink, and you can often get free refills if needed, and we really very, very rarely purchase a dessert. It just sort of seems that we'd probably not each spend $30 a day in 2 QS meals. But, with QS and some 3, maybe 4 TS, is OOP best deal still or is DDP best deal?
Of course, if we had FD it wouldn't matter, unless there was another sort of room package deal that was great and combined with paying OOP for food, would save us more than FD and paying rack rate. Okay does any of this make any sense? I think I'm confusing myself, lol!

Hi, thanks for the detailed post, brilliant.
Just a quick question please, on this web site it says '20% discount Disney Dining Plan' on a number of restaurants (Planet Hollywood for example).
What does this mean? I know this sounds a silly question but does it mean that you get 20% off a meal using one Table Service voucher or does it mean you can still use 1 Table Service voucher for a meal but if you go back you can ALSO receive 20% off other meals?????
Cheers

I just called this morning & was able to add the Free Disney Dining Plan to my existing Wilderness Lodge Dec 10-18, 2009 reservation. (Dec 18th date excluded from the Free Dining Plan). Here is my question, I always book online with disneyworld.com, so I can see the reservation changes, that is good, but here are my 2 questions for the Disney Dining Plan Experts here on the DIs boards---
1. Does your resort confirmation information on the Disneyworld.com website not show Free Dining on your reservation? I don't see it on mine.
2. I was also told by a fellow co-worker that frequents Disneyworld, that you can convert a table service meal to a counter service meal, but when I asked the Disney rep this questioin, she stated "no" that you can't convert a table service meal to a counter service meal, she even placed me on hold to confirm this question.
Thanks fellow Dis buddies, we go every year in December & this is the first year that we are getting the free dining plan, so this is new to me !! (We are not Disney Visa cardholders).![]()
Your online info may or may not show it. It's kind of hit or miss on that.
The TS to CS conversion has been allowed OCCASIONALLY during very busy times, it is NOT official policy to do so.
Even when they did do it, it was not a guarentee, and was subject to change at any time. Unless you get literature announcing it while on your trip, do not plan on it.
You can add a dining plan to your reservation anytime up to 3 days before arrival.
If you are converting from a room-only reservation for annual passholders to an annual passholder room/dining package, be advised that the agent will have to cancel the room-only reservation and rebook it as a package, so you should check for availability before you do that. You will also need to pay the full balance on the reservation if you convert it into a package within 45 days of arrival.
The basic Dining Plan or DDP entitles each guest to receive 1 Table Service (TS) credit, Quick Service or Counter Service (CS) credits and 1 Snack credit per nights' stay.

WDW CS childrens menus usually consist of an entrée and two sides that may be selected from a list, which generally includes:
- fresh fruit
- fresh vegetables
- sugar free gelatin
- applesauce
- french fries if you request them,
- cookies, pudding or ice cream
Children on the dining plan are entitled to select an entrée and two of these sides but one side counts as dessert. (They do not get to choose two sides plus a dessert.)
Childrens desserts are not comparable to adult desserts at CS. There are numerous complaints from parents who feel their younger children are upset by the fact that they have to order smaller desserts while older members of the party get larger, more standard desserts. If you want regular desserts at CS for your child age 3-9, the options are
1) purchase an extra dessert
2) use a snack credit to get an extra dessert
3) use the childs CS credits at restaurants that do not have a separate childrens menu, some of which offer regular size desserts
4) share your dessert with your child
