2009 Bounce Back

Yes. You can change to any other resort as long as there is availability. There are rooms specifically earmarked for bounceback offers. It stipulates this at the bottom of the bounceback offer.

The availablity has to be there, though...and the hotel may have "availability" at the rack rate, but no availability for the discount offer because they only set aside a certain number of rooms per each offer. (For example, if you go on the Disney website you can book value resorts at the rack rate any time during Free Dining...but if you try to book them WITH the Free Dining offer, there are some time frames that will show "no availability": they actually do have rooms available in those hotels at the time, just not rooms for the Free Dining offer.)

I do know of people who could not get bounceback applied to existing reservations because their preferred resort had no bounceback rooms left for the days they wanted...if you're willing to be flexible on resorts, though, and switch reservations to available hotels if needed, then you're sure to get the offer applied.

Thanks so much to both of you for the help. It is very much appreciated. I will make a list in my head of resorts in order of my wants.

I suppose the same offer will be in the resort rooms for awhile...this is off the Bounceback brochure offer that was in our room last week, 5/19-5/26:

40% off Del. Villa Resort- 8/10-9/27/2008, 10/19-11/01/08, 11/9-11/15/08 and 11/30-12/13/2008. Offer excludes 3 br grand villas.

30% off select deluxe-same dates

30% of select moderate resorts-same dates.

This is off the actual little flyer--it's a round gold-colored card, shaped like a big pocket watch...I guess to imply it's limited time offer or something.

(I brought the actual offer home) You had to call before check out, of course. We're not doing any of these offers, cuz we're already booked for a value resort during Free dining (which worked out cheaper than doing a % off deal during the same time.)

We would do one of these % off deals had we been traveling during those times instead.

The free dining bounceback offers are just for the free dining time frame...August-September: there are no other free dining offer times other than that. The in-room bounceback offers which are only for the % off specific resorts have more options on travel times, but no free dining options. Depending on which resorts you're willing to stay at, free dining may or may not be the better deal. (For example, if you "must" stay at a deluxe resort, the % discount is usually worth more than the free dining. However, if you're o.k. with staying in a value resort, the free dining is typically a better savings...you just have to do the math!)

Do you know if the 40% off at Villas is for ALL the villas? Or was it just SSR & OKW?

sorry, I'm looking at the card again...doesn't specify. Actual wording is

"Get 40% off a select Disney Deluxe Villa Resort Save 40% off the non-discounted price for stays most nights 8/10-9/27/08, 10/19-11/1/08, 11/9-11/15/08, and 11/30-12/13/08 at select Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, featuring home-like amenities such as kitchenettes in a studio. Need more room for more fun? Be sure to ask about one or two-bedroom deluxe villas and enjoy extras such as a full kitchen & whirlpool tub! (Offer exclued three-bedroom grand villas.)"

That's all...read all the fine print on the thing...no specific resorts are mentioned on the card. Don't know if you call regular reservations if they would be able to tell you which resorts this is applied to, or if you have to wait until you're staying on-site. Maybe someone else has the answer to this one?

Thanks for the info. I always wonder if the discount would be good at say, Beach Club. It seems like when they do offers they usually just include SSR & OKW. We got a PIN this year (for the first time!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and it included everything. I guess the only way to know is to try to book one of the villas like VWL, BCV or BWV with the bounceback.
Thanks!:goodvibes

I'm really hoping there is a bounceback when we are there in September!:wizard:

I'm new at all this and trying to figure this all out! We are going during free dining this year, will they offer a bounceback for next year during free dining? Is it the same package we booked this year but w/ a % off?

Seems that based on historical data that what you might be offered is to book free dining for next year during specific dates--and that way you're guaranteed free dining next year, whether or not it's again offered as a discount to the general public. Hope that helps.

the % off discount I was talking about was not for free dining, although some of the dates overlapped with the free dining offer. This was the offer that was in the room when we were there May 19-May 26, 2008. You had to call the number on the card & book this bounceback offer before checking out of the hotel.

Agree with Bibbidi's comment that historically, the bounceback offer during Free Dining is to book for Free dining in the same time frame of the following year (so Aug-Sept 2008 free dining people can book for bounceback free dining Aug-Sept 2009.)

Hope that helps...

I'm confused and sorry to hijack the post....I am taking DD the first weekend in October and was thinking of checking in to bounceback for October 2009...same weekend (first in October because DD's school always has the first Friday in October off)....why are the first 2 weekends in October skipped? Is it just random each year?
