20081225- Dis Meet Late December

Since we will be there for Christmas, anyone want to do an ornament swap???

I noticed a few people have ADR's early on Christmas morning in MK. Why don't we semi-meet at a designated place so we can be together for rope drop?

Ohh that would so early! But i think we're in! Where is a good viewing spot, and how early do we need to be there for 7a open?

I would think if the park opens at 8, to be at the main entrance by 7:30 so we can meet and walk into the park together. It would be great if we all stay at the resorts b/c I know a few of us have 8 to 8:30 ressies for breakfast and if that's the case, we can all go on a few rides together!

Yeah! Let's do it - crafty or small purchased???? Definately Disney themed. I have a girl 9, and a boy 2. Anyone else?

Maybe 2 more if my brother and his ex can't agree by then who gets them, (long story but they are mine for the summer).

I thought the park opened on 12/25 at 7 AM, but it's actually 8 AM.

Here's the MK Schedule from disneyworld.com

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wd...alendarParkHoursMonthlyViewPage&date=20081201

Good idea to meet at the MK somewhere on Christmas Day, since so many of us are going to be there. They are opening at 7 a.m. that morning.

Are you sure they open at 7? I checked the disneyworld.com calendar and they said 8 AM. I think the regular opening time is 9 so, 1 hour earlier is 8. Can someone clarify this for us so if we do decide to meet, we know it's the right time?:confused3

I too tried to make a sheet to see where we would all be when.....no too sure on everyone, but it seems that the likliest places and times to meet are
24th - DHS

25th - MK

26th - DHS

27th - AK

1st - MK

So opening? Parade? or Fireworks? More than one? Out family is anxious to meet others, it is our first family trip and first Holiday away from home...my dd is excited about the idea of making Christmas ornaments to swap and having someone to watch the parade with who is "cooler" than mom. I don't know how far away she thinks I am going to let her sit, but at least she won't "look like a baby". Anyone else raising a tween? Is there a hair pulling smiley?

Okay ladies & gents...I finally got around to calling Disney themselves to verify MK hours for the week of 12/21 - 12/26. The following including EMH AM & PM hours:

Sun, 12/21 - 7:00 AM - 2:00 AM :cool1: 2 AM in MK, how super cool is that?!
Mon, 12/22 - 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM
Tue, 12/23 - 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM
Wed, 12/24 - 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM
Thu, 12/25 - 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM
Fri, 12/26 - 7:00 AM - 2:00 AM:banana:

So, since it's clarified and there are a few of us who will be at MK on 12/25, do you want to meet around 6:30 AM? I think the nicest place to meet is by the entrance. What does everyone else think?

Well we planned on being there at 6:30 anyway so we are very much up for meeting others!! I have all of our ADR's and all the EMH for all the parks on an Excel spreadsheet on my phone - I can hardly contain myself these days

This will be our first trip to Disney at Christmas and our first Christmas away from family so it would nice to create "family"!!!

I have 3 boys 14, 12 & 7 (well he'll be 7 by the time we get there).....We are staying at SSR - I only put this out there because I wanted to see if there will be any other kids close in age -

Cheers!!

Oh! My boy is turning 7 in time for Disney in December too!!:yay: :yay:
DS is most looking forward to seeing the Indiana Jones show. He's soooo into Indy these days!

I think DHS is going to be THE park for the kids this year, with HSM and Indy, they're never going to leave!!:lmao:

6:30am entrance and 12:30pm parade????? How about fireworks, anyone else staying that late??? How about the last ride on dumbo at 1:30am?

I'm driving in from NY, but no matter how tired we all are, I intend to stay for the PM EMH hours on the 21st. My next day is a non-park day and we're probably just going to go on a sleigh ride and maybe to the Roaring Forks for an early dinner so I know I can sleep in a bit on Monday.

Sunday night however is PAR-TAY!:banana: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2: :cool1: :rockband::dancer:party::jumping1:

Ok, I think I've exceeded my smiley quota for the month...

We'll be there anyway at 6:30 for the EMH before breakfast. How will we identify each other?
