When are the rates and packages for 2008 going to be released!?

I am obsessive planner and I have to have our vacation budget planned to the penny. It is killing me not knowing how much to set aside for the dining plan and our stay at POP. I can't believe that I have to make our ADR's in less than 2 weeks and I don't even know how much the DDP is going to cost . I had heard rumors that Disney releases the rates in late June or early July but that has clearly come and gone. I heard about the changes being made to the pricing of weekend nights and removing gratuities from the DDP and that has messed me up enough.

Anybody else as OC as me?

I have been on the telephone almost daily since June 13, 2007 trying to book our June, 2008 stay. The most common answer to when the 2008 rates will be out is mid-August. This lines up with the last two years.

You can go ahead book a room only reservation right now. It will be at the 2007 rate and will be adjusted when the 2008 rates come out. You would be required to pay a deposit equal to your first night's stay. When the 2008 rates come out, you will have the option of being refunded your room only deposit and changing it over to a package.

I went ahead and booked room only because I was afraid all of the standard view Wilderness Lodge rooms would be gone before the 2008 rates came out.

If you want to get an idea of what your package will cost, you can call 407-W-DISNEY and ask them what your package would have cost in 2007. This is what I did and then I tacked on about 10% for an increase. The CM told me the annual increase was about 6% but I wanted to add a little extra just in case.

Rest assured you're not alone!! I started a thread a few weeks back titled "I just can't take this any longer!" And that was weeks ago - you can imagine where we're at now!!!

I actually think I'm past the point of being upset and am just plain old bummed. I hate to admit that it is a black mark on WDW for me. To not be able to plan a vacation six months out is incredulous, and Disney owes us more than that.

Disney has decided not to take any reservations for 2008.... HA HA HA HA just kidding... but seriously that is how I am feeling... I want to give them my money and they wont take it... LOL... I have called about once a week and the last few times it has been mid August... until then I was given all kinds of different dates... but I still check online everyday and call once or so a week.... I am sure they have my phone number on caller id and so oh no its that silly lady from Iowa that wants to bring her little princess to WDW... LOL

I just booked today for my Jan 08 holiday,
now I was expecting to be told that these are 2007 rates and that the rates would be adjusted when 2008 rates come out, but she didn't tell me that, not once, So I am wondering if that means you can book at 2008 rates over the phone.

I'm not sure what the rates were in 2007 but I was quoted:
AKL Pool Bunk bed-$250, Savannah bunk bed $310 plus tax
CR-Tower bay view-$365, MK view $395 (There were no wing rooms available)
We have booked from 4th Jan-12th Jan

The CM also told me that I can add on dining and tickets to THIS ressie when the rates come out in 2 weeks. I do not have to cancel this ressie and change it to a package.

I will wait and see what happens in a few weeks

I called yesterday with a question about my room only package and I asked about 2008 rates. The cm said they expected them within the next few weeks- maybe late August. Who knows???

I called on Friday to get my 2008 room only reservation number (I couldn't find it anywhere.) and it was also time to check, again, to see if the 2008 rates were out. This time, the CM told me they were expecting the end of August/first of September.

I have e-mailed Disney two times in the past month to see if they will give me an answer. They alway say there is no exact date yet.

At least I know I have my rooms reserved already!
