Alright, I have a question... I was one of the last finishers in the half this year, but I did cross the finish line. I really wasn't that upset that I didn't receive my medal that day because I knew that last year Disney was really good about mailing them out quickly. Also, since I was so far back, I knew there would be no doubt that I was one of the finishers who didn't receive one. Anyway, I forgot to stop my forerunner when I crossed the line, so I went to look at the results to see what my actual time was. I can't find myself on the list. Actually, I can. I see my 10K and 15K split times, but no finishing time. Should I be concerned? I mean if the chip didn't record my end time for whatever reason it doesn't show that I actually finished and that means the race people won't know to send the medal. I mean there will be the ASI pic to prove that I crossed, so I'm not worried that I won't get it. I'm just concerned that it'll be a big hassle to do so.

Or is all this common and I shouldn't be concerned at all?

Well, this could be one of a couple of things....

Since you say that you were one of the last people to cross the finish line, it's possible that they had already during off the mats at the time you crossed. If you may have been over 3:30 on your chip time, it's possible you could have made it past the final sweep but just missed the time cutoff to be an "official finisher." This happened to someone I know in 2006. They got their medal, but not a finishers certificate when all was said and done.

Also, chips do sometimes not record splits... happened to me at the 2006 start and it took a day or two for them to make the adjustment on the website.

I wouldn't worry about it being a big hassle to get your medal... they did find them at the Expo Saturday afternoon, so they have them in hand and I'm sure you'll have your medal soon. If something should be amiss, the marathon team at Disney have always been very responsive to emails.

No matter what, though... CONGRATULATIONS on finishing the half!!!! :thumbsup2
