Our UK friends can already book full packages for 2008.
I checked room only rates on the WDW UK website and they are not being charged extra for weekends??
http://wdtc.disneyinternational.com/p1.asp

Example..Moderate Room Rate - POR

From Jan 1 - Feb 13, 2008 = $148/night
From Feb 14 - April 5, 2008 = $192/night
From April 6th on 2008 = $164/night

these are all converted from pounds

----------------------------------------------
Why are they going to charge different rates on weekends for North American vistors but not British visitors?

Thank you it's working for me. Is there a site that can convert these?

AK std: 134
Poly std: 236
BC std: 220

Poly GVC: 324
Poly LVC: 406

Hi

The £/$ rate at the moment is at a 26 year high for us Brits.

£1 = $2.06

Regards

Andy

Thank you. I love PLVC but not for $800 a night!

I am in the process of planning my trip next oct to AKL.

But the 2 standards rooms are costing £3962 in total ($8122) for 2 weeks.

So it is making me look at DVC. As i think i can get a 2BR villa in AKV for the 2 weeks for 3 years worth of points. By banking and borrowing.
And that will cost me $15360 plus annual dues.

regards

Andy

I'm looking to find what dates are which season...............I looked at the website attached but I couldn't find it anywhere. Did anyone??

Specifically I'm looking at mid-April.

In British Pounds...

WDW Moderate Hotel Room Rates for 2008

January 1 to February 13 = 74 Pounds / Per Night
February 14 to April 5 = 96 Pounds / Per Night
April 6 to May 21 = 82 Pounds / Per Night
May 22 to June 30 = 88 Pounds / Per Night

I noticed the same date/rate changes apply for Values and Deluxes as well.

I converted pounds to US Dollars and compared rates for the Wilderness Lodge between the US site and the UK site for 2007. According to this you guys pay about $100 less a night than we americans do?

dont forget we are charged more for usa rooms in the uk,cost of a value a night this year in uk pound £54 works out $108 we book direct with disney usa and we get it for $64 with AA discount thats £32.Know where we book our rooms.we get free international calls so they can put us on hold as long as they whant

I'm not sure I understand. On the US site, I am charged (value Season) $215 per night at the Wilderness Lodge. However, on the UK Disney site, I am charged only (value Season) 75 GBP (pounds). That comes to the UK rate only being a little over $150 US Dollars. Please explain, I don't understand all of this conversion stuff.

Interesting....GF rooms are available on this site for the 2008 dates I'm looking for, but when I called to book room only for the exact dates, they are showing not available. Why is this, does anyone know?

thank you so much! I hope these dates hold up for us American folks too!!

So if I'm doing this correctly Poly LVC is about $560. That's a little better.

So, are the UK rates not showing a price change from week nights to weekend nights?

When did the European site go live for 2008 reservations? I'm hoping that if it was just recently, that means that the US site will be up soon.

You cannot go by the rates for UK guests. These rates are special in so many ways not the least of which is that the UK guest has to spend upwards of 1000$ US/pp just to get to Orlando in many cases; and normally stays 10 days or more. Disney actively markets to these foreign markets to fill up rooms because UK vacation periods frequently don't line up with US vacation time periods etc.

UK guests have ticket options available to them (14 and 21 day Ultimates) that are not available to North American guests. Again, UK guests stay longer. Longer stays = cheaper rates.. for tickets and rooms.

Disney markets their rooms and rates to many markets around the world at rates and with offers they believe will sell in those markets. It's also worth noting that the average UK guest bill includes MUCH more in room charges and souvenirs than the average North American guest. That's not to be discounted. Why is that? Because for many UK guests, it truly is the trip of a lifetime not something they do every year or even every few years. As such their trips tend to be longer and include more 'extras'.

This is a lot of words to explain that there are many factors at play.

It's not an accurate comparison and I don't suggest you use their UK rates as a guide to how much North American (US & Canadian) guests will be charged.

Remember, it wasn't that many years ago Disney offered Canadian guests "Canadian Dollar at Par with US $" to encourage Canadians to come down. Why? Because no Canadian wanted to go down there when their dollar was at 68c US.

Hope this helps!

Hi CanedianGuy.

I don’t think that that explains everything.
The English site is always two months ahead with booking.

Its also for Disney Resort Paris and that annoys a lot of other Europeans.

People from Italy, Sweden ,Poland , Portugal and al the other country’s also plan the trip of their life but always have to wait until the English have booked all the best rooms.
That’s also a great problem around Christmas. So many people and so few rooms.

This complaint exist for many years now but it never changes.
