Has anyone heard any nfo on whether there will be a TOT race this October? Ran the 13k in 07, and we wanted to do the 6.5k as a family this year... :goodvibes

Haven't heard, but I sure hope they do. That was a cool race. And getting into the park afterward was a lot of fun. I'll do it again!

I am so there again for this race - that was the coolest race I have done. And now everytime I see MGM (sorry Hollywood Studios) I have to remind everyone that I RAN THERE!!!!

You know something funny? Tonight as I was running, I was actually looking back fondly on the standing around forever, waiting for the race to start. That's unlikely to happen again and at the time I was not at all pleased, but looking back, it just adds to the legendariness of the experience in my memory. I would absolutely love to do that run again, but doing the Minnie in May and then the half marathon in 2009, I think I probably used up my fly-to-Florida-to-run allowance for the year. :(

October 25th. See ya there!

That would be awesome. Is this confirmed somewhere or an assumption based on the weekend of last year's race?

I looked on the Endurance website and didn't see anything listed past the Minnie Marathon...

I believe it's been confirmed. DH ran it last year. Man was it hot, humid and not very well planned. This year I'm sure will be better, but he listens to some of the songs they played before the race and remembers it fondly. We're going earlier in the month this year so will miss it (we are doing Race for the Taste) and returning in Jan for the marathon.

My wife and I ran the 13K last year, and we would like to bring the 14 and 10 yr old kids back and do the 6.5k as a family this year. We were too tired to have any fun at the party, so the 6.5k may be better for us that late in the evening. :lmao:

There are a few things that I hope they tweak this year. First of all, something needs to be done to better control the traffic. We were in that mess and almost missed the start. Also, there were huge bottlenecks at the start of the race, seemingly due to the u-turn as well as the 13 & 6.5k folks sraring the same pavement. Shouldn't be too hard to stagger the start so the 13k folks are down the road before the 6.5k people get started?

Yes there were a few things that didn't go as planned, but WISH made Disney Racing history, we blazed the trail for future runners and walkers. That is our job don't cha know.

We are Disney's "A" Team.

Party Panda:hippie:

I am guessing that in future years, they will change the traffic signals from funneling 10,000 people away from the park at the end of Fantasmic and park closing to funneling people into the park for the race. And encourage more people to bus by, you know, not denying there will be any.

I think the thing I would MOST like to see changed, though, would be the length of the "after party." I did the 13K and would say I was at the back of the middle of the pack and at 1:42, by the time all was said and done, I had time to ride the TOT and RnRC exactly one time each. And then it was all closed up! And I know I was lucky to get that, but especially with the extra 20 minutes taken off the top, it was a little disappointing. It will be very interesting to see what tweaks they make this year.

Oh, Amy - I am so out of it, I didn't even know the songs they were playing for the most part. Do you have any titles?
