I posted this on the dining board but wanted to give everyone a chance to read it. I just returned from a week at POR. Trip report will be posted soon. The day before we left I found a flyer in my room offering free dining on a return visit next year if I booked before leaving. I had to book a 5 night 6 day trip between 8-30 and 9-27-2008 at a select Moderate or Deluxe resort. I was given free dining just like this year. The only catch was that the gratuity is not included in the new plan. The code is ZSM and must be booked prior to check out of the current trip ending on or before 9-28-07.

So be prepared to book another trip and pay a $200 deposit if you want to take advantage of this offer.

:dance3: :dance3: I am definately booking it. But I really don't think we will be able to go. Easier to book and then cancel, then not book at all and regret it that you didn't. I'm not sure my boss will give me time off 2 years in a row:rolleyes: . Any details about it would be greatly apprecitated!!!!! :goodvibes

Woo Hoo!!!! I haven't even gone on this yrs Free DDP and now you have me checking the calendar for 2008!!!
Glad to hear it, thanks for sharing thie info... I hope I get the offer too!
:goodvibes

Thanks for the head's up flametamr! These are the details that I found on mousesavers.com--let us know if this is the offer you received:

"Bounceback Free Dining Promotion
This offer is available ONLY to guests staying at one of the official Walt Disney World resorts between 8/31/07-9/28/07.

Using a special phone number provided on some resort restaurant receipts or on a flyer provided in some resort rooms, you can book a vacation package for next year, for stays between 8/30/08-9/27/08, at a Walt Disney World resort with theme park tickets and receive the Dining Plan for FREE.

If you don't get the offer on a receipt or a flyer in your room, I recommend asking at the front desk.

There is a 3-night minimum stay requirement. Reservation for 2008 must be made before you check out and no later than September 28 to qualify. A $200 deposit is required at time of reservation."

annie1995: We'll be booking it, too! Not sure if/how we'll be able to make it work but, like you, I'd rather book it and have to cancel than not book it and wish we had. See you there!

It looks about the same to me Thunderbird1. But mine stated it was available on a 5 night 6 day packages at select moderate or deluxe resort. I have edited my original post to reflect that.

I went ahead and booked with the same idea. I can always cancel later if it turns out I can't get my vacation time scheduled.

Oooohh.. Sounds great. Thanks for the heads up. We weren't planning on going in 2008, but I can't turn down a great deal.

I'm sure the Free Dining is not the Deluxe plan. Wishful thinking. ;)

I just returned from POR and didn't receive this :( If I had I would have booked..especially since my mother just asked me to pick a time next year and she would pay as she wants a mother daughter trip and wishes she had been with me this past week. SIGH :(

I'm sorry they didn't offer you this. I have no idea why I recieved it either. Call and talk to a customer service manager. Tell them you heard about it but were not offered it you want to know why. I actually misunderstood the brocure and didn't call until later in the day when I left the park. I had used express check out so I just left the resort early. When I called the CM said I was too late but handed me over to a manager who booked me. I had to be a little pushy about how I understood the offer. But after getting home I re-read the brocure and it did say book before checkout or prior. I thought it said book before or on the day of check out.

It isn't, but others are reporting being offered and/or booking the DXDDP and getting it for (approximately) half price. $35 a day (plus tips) for 3 TS meals is a darned good deal! I can't remember on which thread I saw that--I'll look around for you a little later.

This is the time frame that DH and I are planning our second trip. I hope that we can take advantage of free DDP! Would make the trip even better. I am not disappointed that the appetizer was taken away. Still a lot of food!

This is so fun! We leave in 5 days and I'll be on the lookout for this deal... and booking it! Where is the $35/day deluxe ddp info? Anyone find it?:confused3

Here is the thread that talked about the discounted DXDDP (sorry it took me so long to find it):

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1567361

It sounds like nothing is completely official yet (ie, no one has actually booked it), but the deal most likely will be that you get $37.99 (the cost of the regular DDP) credit towards the $69.99 cost of the DXDDP, so the deluxe plan will cost you $32 per day. If the reported information is correct (and when are DIS'ers ever not on the ball?), you may be able to book free (regular) DDP then upgrade to DXDDP later on. That's terrific!

Hope they end up extending this promotion or offering it again at a different time. Our next trip to WDW is not until November but would love to get in on the 2008 free dining. Oh well I will keep my eyes open to any future offers for 2008. Thanks to Flametamr for the heads up on this offer.
